This is my first time having two consecutive meals of motsunabe (tripe hot pot)! At the hotel breakfast, you can choose between motsunabe buffet or yudofu (tofu hot pot), and I immediately chose motsunabe and felt excited. It woke me up instantly! I'm grateful to be able to enjoy a hearty motsunabe meal at a hotel even in the morning. I had plenty of meat and vegetables, went for seconds, ate noodles, and finished with curry and coffee. It was the best way to end the meal. Thank you for the feast!

On the 4th day of my Yamaguchi homecoming and Fukuoka trip, I stayed at the "APA Hotel & Resort Hakata Station Higashi," which is located a 5-minute walk from Hakata Station Chikushi Exit and features a large public bath and pool on the top floor. Although my plan did not include meals, I decided to have breakfast on the last day before heading out for sightseeing. I purchased a breakfast voucher at the front desk the day before and headed to the breakfast venue "Ganso Motsunabe Rakutenchi APA Hakata Station Higashi Store" on the 1st floor at 7:00 am. The place was already bustling with customers as it opens at 6:30 am. I opted for the Japanese and Western buffet for 1300 yen, which came with Hakata motsunabe or Ureshino hot spring tofu. After handing over my breakfast voucher to the staff, I was instructed to choose between motsunabe or tofu and take it to my seat. I chose my favorite motsunabe and carried the pot filled with soup and offal to a two-person table. I then selected apple juice at the drink corner, filled a bowl with rice, a plate with 6 side dishes, and made a salad in a small bowl before bringing additional offal, cabbage, leeks, and chili peppers to my seat. I simmered the motsunabe on the table's IH stove, and it smelled so good that my stomach instantly growled. Dipping the cooked offal and vegetables in ponzu sauce was delicious, and the rice went down smoothly. After finishing the salad and side dishes, I added noodles to make "motsu ramen" for the finishing touch. With a hot cup of coffee, I enjoyed a leisurely moment at my seat before returning to my room. I posted this breakfast on my Instagram stories before checking out at 9:00 am and heading to Hakata Station. Despite my initial doubts about having motsunabe for breakfast, the joy of cooking it myself and the satisfaction of a hearty breakfast for only 1300 yen made it an excellent experience. I will definitely choose this hotel again for my next trip to Fukuoka and have motsunabe for breakfast. Thank you for the meal! (●^o^●)

Hello! This is Hanedaman! I went on a business trip to Hakata! It was my first business trip in a while, so I was really happy! I stayed at an Apa Hotel near Hakata Station, which had good access from the station and was a comfortable hotel. The breakfast was at a motsunabe restaurant on the first floor, which was a unique style of dining. I didn't have much time, so being able to quickly eat a local specialty was great for me! You can choose between motsunabe and yudofu, but of course I chose motsunabe! It was all-you-can-eat, with various types of meat including motsu, and while the quality of the meat and vegetables wasn't great, the soup was delicious and it was a good deal. You can choose from a variety of ingredients, so you can enjoy different types of materials than the motsunabe you usually eat. In addition to motsunabe, there were other ingredients comparable to a typical business hotel, and the curry made with motsu was surprisingly delicious, so I was satisfied! For those who want to eat motsunabe even with limited time, I recommend having it for breakfast!

I had a business trip to Fukuoka, so I arrived a day early on Sunday. Fukuoka is known for its delicious food, so I wanted to try some tonkotsu ramen, mentaiko, and motsunabe. I chose this restaurant near my hotel where it seemed easy to dine alone. When I arrived at 7:00 pm, there were about 5-6 groups of customers, but the restaurant was quite spacious and didn't feel crowded. There were two staff members, so it took a bit of time to be seated, but eventually I got in. I ordered the highly recommended motsunabe satisfaction course, which costs around 2,500 yen per person. As a starter, you get to choose one dish from small plates like mentaiko, vinegar motsu, and kimchi. I chose the mentaiko without hesitation. The motsunabe set included 150g of motsu, cabbage & leeks, tofu, and champon noodles, which is a classic combination of ingredients. If you want to enjoy the motsunabe, you need to order this course at a minimum, as the tofu and champon noodles are separate orders with the lower set. You can also have refills of champon noodles and soup. The mentaiko was firm and each egg had a satisfying popping texture. The motsunabe had a soy sauce-based soup, and the sweetness from the melted motsu fat made it very delicious. It's hard to go wrong with motsunabe, haha. I also had champon noodles and ended up feeling very full. With two drinks, the total bill came to just under 4,000 yen, which was really great value. If you're in Fukuoka for a business trip or any other reason, I recommend giving this place a try.

I wanted to eat motsunabe, but all the popular places were fully booked, so I ended up at this restaurant. It is located about a 5-minute walk from Hakata Station, on the Shinkansen side. The restaurant had availability, perhaps because it is a bit further away. The interior has counter seats, table seats, and semi-private rooms. I ordered the satisfying motsunabe course for 2,772 yen including tax. I chose vinegar motsu as a starter. The generous amount of garlic chives was impressive, and the motsu was chewy and delicious. You can have unlimited refills of champon noodles. It was a different experience from when I first tried motsunabe in Rakutenchi. Maybe if it had been more lively, it would have tasted even better. On the other hand, if you prefer a calm atmosphere while eating, this restaurant might be a good choice.

Today marks the first trip of 2023. For dinner on the first day, I went to a motsunabe restaurant located on the first floor of the APA Hotel where I was staying. You can enter from outside as well, but there is also an entrance right in front of the hotel elevator. It was past 8 PM and a Friday night, but I was able to dine without a reservation. It had been a while since I had motsunabe at a restaurant. I was a bit surprised to see that there were hardly any individual items on the menu. You could only add either sumotsu, kimchi, or mentaiko at the beginning of the course. While waiting for the motsunabe to be ready, I enjoyed the meal. My wife mentioned that it was slightly on the sweeter side, but as someone with an unsophisticated palate, I thought it was delicious. We didn't order any additional pots, but we did get three servings of champon noodles for the finale. Noodles in the course are all-you-can-eat.

After the flight from Sendai to Fukuoka, I collapsed into the hotel feeling exhausted, but the next morning I was ready for a hearty breakfast. I had breakfast at an oxtail hot pot restaurant inside APA, with the main dish being oxtail hot pot... in the morning! And they even threw in some udon noodles (laughs). This concludes my long domestic business trip from the end of January to the beginning of February, starting on Monday afternoon and ending on Friday after four nights and five days. Let's quickly review the food highlights. Monday: Breakfast at Italian restaurant TOKABO with Bolognese meat sauce, lunch at Akikichi for something. Tuesday: Breakfast at Maruichiya for tempura udon, lunch at Nikumen Marukyu for oxtail ramen, snack at Akane Coffee in Kobe, dinner at Tenikken in Sannomiya for tough pork belly. Wednesday: Breakfast at Brenza Hotel in Kobe, lunch at a golf practice range (Sofa) for pork cutlet, dinner at Hotori in Sendai for something. Thursday: Breakfast at Almont Hotel in Sendai, lunch at Washoku no Kojima in Tagajo for amberjack grilled set meal. And skipping Friday's lunchbox, which will be covered in a separate article. The lunchbox is actually a delivery from Hamakatsu, the predecessor of the Ringer Hut chain, so I wanted to create a story around it, but oh well... let's leave it at that (laughs). Next time, I might pick up some highlights from the north Kanto region, so stay tuned!

I love motsu❗ So I ordered the satisfying motsu nabe course❗ It came with plenty of leeks piled high. I lit the fire and watched as it simmered. In the meantime, I enjoyed a lemon sour and motsu with vinegar. It's like a perfect combination for a drinker. The nabe started boiling. It was filled with lots of vegetables and motsu. The sweetness of the vegetables and motsu seeped into the soup, making it more and more delicious. We cooked tofu, champon noodles, and ate the piping hot nabe in order. It was so delicious❗ Our stomachs are now full. Thank you for the meal. We will definitely come back again.

Some people say they feel heavy in the morning, but I am the type who likes to have a proper meal in the morning. A friend from Fukuoka recommended this place to me. Tourists need to move quickly, so I decided to eat motsunabe here! It is located on the first floor of Apa Hotel Hakata Higashi, which has a pool on the rooftop. I thought there was no buffet due to recent events, but they had small packaged motsu that you could serve yourself. The motsu curry was delicious too. It would have been perfect with some alcohol, but it's too early for that. In everything, it's important to think of ways to do it rather than making excuses for not being able to do it. I have been reminded of this many times. I will stay here again when I go to Fukuoka next time. Thank you for the meal!

There are clearly fake reviews (followers: 0) with ★5 ratings, so it might be better to delete them. The idea of having motsunabe (tripe hot pot) for breakfast buffet is unique, and I think it's a good idea for tourists to enjoy in the morning.
Purpose/occasion: I used it for breakfast when staying at an Apa Hotel in Hakata.
Location/wait time/seating/atmosphere/customers/wifi/toilet/smoking/baby strollers, etc: It's about an 8-minute walk from Hakata Station. The restaurant is located on the first floor facing the road, so it's easy to find. The breakfast is a rare motsunabe buffet style.
Food (reason for ordering, taste, portion size, wait time, etc):
- Recommended dishes: Hakata motsunabe, Ureshino hot spring tofu, and a mix of Japanese and Western dishes (¥1,500 for adults on the day of visit)
Each person is first served a small pot and can choose from two types of broth. The ingredients for the pot (tripe, garlic chives, other meats, etc.) are all-you-can-eat. Although the variety is not extensive, I personally found the Japanese and Western buffet to be sufficient. I thought that many people would be happy if they also included mentaiko (spicy cod roe) since it's Hakata.

I made a reservation for the motsunabe course with champon, which is all-you-can-eat, and can be used with the national travel support coupon. I can't drink alcohol, but since I almost paid with the coupon, I felt bad not ordering a drink, so I ordered a "fresh ginger soft drink." It was a bit bitter, but I ended up unknowingly finishing a "fresh ginger highball." I had a tough time for a while. The motsunabe was okay, but I think it would be even better if you could choose the flavor of the soup.

I found the Rakutenchi motsunabe I had at this restaurant to be less flavorful compared to other places I've tried. The texture of the motsu was also not as chewy as I would have liked. It might be suitable for those who prefer a lighter taste. The free drink service for following them on social media was a nice touch.

I visited a famous motsunabe restaurant for breakfast buffet that I had been curious about for a while. Despite coming back in the morning, I didn't drink any alcohol, just feeling a bit sleepy. I chose the motsunabe course, but I regretted not choosing the tofu hot pot course instead. The motsu was not as chewy as I expected and was small in size, and with the tofu course, you can still eat motsu at the buffet. However, if you like a stronger soup flavor, the motsunabe course is recommended. The buffet had all the classic breakfast items like bread and fried chicken, as well as vegetable juice and yogurt for the ladies. The motsu curry was too sweet for me. I wished it was a bit spicier to bring out the flavor of the motsu more. In the end, I found the cabbage in the motsunabe to be the most delicious and ended up going for multiple refills. The location is also convenient, just a 5-minute walk from Hakata Station, so I thought I would visit again if I happen to be in the area in the morning. Also, all the staff and customers were wearing masks and gloves for safety.

I was looking forward to having motsunabe for breakfast at the hotel, where you can choose your own toppings. It was my first time trying this type of meal, so I was a bit confused. While I was away getting food, the pot overflowed and I ended up causing trouble for the staff. For those who plan to visit in the future, it's better to choose a weaker heat setting if you leave your table unattended. The quality of the motsu was not the best, and there was motsu curry available as well, but it lacked the distinctive motsu texture. The onions were finely chopped, almost unrecognizable, indicating that they were not cooked for a long time.
