"Milk" gained popularity as a whipped cream specialty shop. Following locations in Namba and Harajuku, they have also opened a store in Umeda Chayamachi. The shop is located inside "Fan Factory Cafe" at the far end of Kappa Yokocho. The cafe itself is a very popular spot with long lines during lunchtime, but you can buy Milk's bread without waiting. Their Maritozzo for 430 yen is a representative product filled with cream made from milk in the Hokkaido Nekan district. There are also variations with red bean paste and strawberries, all looking delicious. When you actually try it, the fluffy cream with a refreshing taste and the sweetness of the strawberries blend perfectly, creating an exquisite flavor. And you can't miss their whipped cream sandwich bread. A 2-pound loaf costs 980 yen, and its sweetness is irresistibly delicious whether eaten as is or toasted.

Visited with my sister around 7:00 PM on August 25th. My sister found this place online and thought it looked delicious, so we decided to check it out. Since it was close to closing time, there were only a few items left, but we were able to get the cream sandwich we were looking for. They gave us a cold pack, but they just taped it to the product and put it in a paper bag, so by the time we got back to the hotel, the strawberries in the Maritozzo had fallen off the cream. The paper bag also tore from the moisture of the cold pack. I wish they had wrapped it in something... I should have brought my own cooler bag considering the summer heat. We chilled it again in the hotel fridge, and the taste was really delicious. The cream was light and fluffy, and I could probably eat as many as I wanted. I would like to visit again.

I bought various things in Umeda and on the way back, I bought Maritozzo that my child asked for. There was one with red bean paste inside, so I decided to try it too. It had a nice balance of sweetness with the cream, red bean paste, and roasted soybean flour... it was delicious! I usually don't eat sweet things much, but I prefer this kind of Japanese-style dessert over heavy Western sweets. I recommend it to those who like red bean paste. First time trying Maritozzo!

I had someone buy a Maritozzo from the cream specialty shop milk in Umeda. This bread seems to be similar to the one from Yamabiko Bakery in Grand Front, so it seems they are siblings. The difference is in the variations, as over there they only had ones with cream, while here you can get ones with strawberries or red bean paste. I had the one with red bean paste, and although it wasn't as good as the one from Yamabiko since it was a day old, it was still enjoyable. The red bean paste goes well with it. While the cream alone is delicious, the combination with red bean paste adds a unique flavor. The trend may have calmed down at home, but I still want to have it occasionally.

At Kappa Yokocho, they have started offering milk-based desserts. Recently, they have been collaborating with various shops to create limited edition Maritozzo. I tried the Umeda store exclusive, Kinako and Azuki Maritozzo. It also had strawberries. The Maritozzo at Milk uses bread from Yamabiko Bakery, filled with the shop's signature fresh cream. When comparing the Maritozzo in terms of texture, Milk's is lighter while Pompadour's is denser. It's all about personal preference. The strawberries in the Strawberry Maritozzo were thinly sliced and didn't have much strawberry flavor. The cream was delicious, so the strawberries felt unnecessary. The Kinako and Azuki Maritozzo, however, was great. The amount of azuki was just right, and it paired well with the milk-like cream. The kinako powder on top tied everything together. Strawberry Milk Maritozzo 500 yen, Kinako and Azuki Milk Maritozzo 480 yen.

Maritozzo is a specialty of Rome, Italy, made with brioche dough filled with plenty of cream. It's basically a variation of cream bread that you can imagine just by looking at it. Let's take a look at some stores as it's currently a trend. Maritozzo Days 2021: Spring New Store Festival Part 75. A new store "Milk Umeda Store" opened on June 1st at Hankyu Kappabashi, Osaka. The ultimate cream bread Maritozzo for 430 yen.
