In recent years, when walking around the Tenjin and Hakata area, you will notice a lot of signs for motsunabe (tripe hot pot) restaurants. However, for those of us born in the Showa era in Fukuoka, motsunabe reminds us of "Rakutenchi." Located in a not so clean-looking building in the back alley behind Tenjin Core, this restaurant serves a hot pot with a huge pile of cabbage and leeks. This is the motsunabe of the Showa era, enjoyed with a loved one. This time, I visited the new branch of "Rakutenchi." As indicated by the name, it is run by the second generation, who is always present as the store manager. The location is on the second floor of Hotel THE BLOSSOM HAKATA premier, close to Canal City. Unlike the old Rakutenchi, this new branch has a very stylish wooden interior. The menu offers courses in addition to the regular dishes, but the prices are still reasonable, just like before! Considering the rental fees for a hotel tenant, I can't help but worry if they are okay with these prices (laughs). According to the store manager, they have come very close to the old Rakutenchi flavor, with a nostalgic soy sauce-based taste. The restaurant has 60 seats, making it suitable for parties. They also offer private reservations. I will definitely be visiting again soon!

I found a great restaurant in an area I don't usually visit during my trip to Fukuoka. The Rakutenchi had delicious motsunabe with plenty of garlic chives, and the liver sashimi was also tasty. It was a satisfying meal that made me feel the essence of Fukuoka after a long time. I would like to visit the main branch next time.

When it comes to Fukuoka, motsunabe is a must! So I searched for a clean and reasonably priced restaurant and decided to go in. The interior was spacious and had a sense of cleanliness, and the staff were friendly. I registered as a member and received some spices, so I made sure to register before leaving. I was able to choose various seasonings and create my favorite flavor, so I enjoyed a delicious meal.

I traveled to Fukuoka and went to eat motsunabe. I ordered motsunabe, beef liver sashimi, sake, and champon noodles. The staff mixed it for me and told me the best timing to eat it, so I was able to enjoy it deliciously! The other dishes were also delicious. The champon noodles at the end were also delicious! My image of motsunabe has been updated. The liver sashimi was very fresh and delicious, and the mentaiko (spicy cod roe) at the end was also amazing! There are counter seats available, and you can order motsunabe from just one serving, so it's easy for solo diners to come in.

Happy New Year, everyone. This time, I visited a new concept restaurant by Rakuten called Rakutenchi. I was curious about it so I decided to drop by. Wow, the food was simply delicious. The interior was not what I expected from Rakutenchi. Even though I didn't make a reservation online, I have known about it for a while and I could really feel the changing times. Keep up the good work as a classic in Hakata. I'm rooting for you.

Delicious but a bit pricey. The atmosphere seems to target customers who don't mind the cost, but there are many other delicious options in Fukuoka's motsunabe district, so I'm not sure if I would come back here again. It was fun to have a variety of condiments to add. The motsunabe itself was very tasty, and it seems like they use fresh motsu that can be eaten quickly after being boiled. They also use a mix of different types of offal, like senmai, mino-like parts, regular meat-like parts, and what seemed like heart, so you can enjoy different textures without getting tired of it. I didn't notice there was a 5% off coupon, I should have used it!

Located on the 2nd floor near Canal City, THE BLOSSOM HAKATA Premier. The elevator to the interior was very clean. I ordered the Iwate Monzaki Ushio Tsubo Nabe course. I was curious about the motsu shabu mentai tororo, but it seemed they didn't have it (only on that day? Seasonal?). The specialty mountain of leeks was thick and fragrant, and the cabbage had a sweet taste. The soy sauce-based soup was delicious. It seemed they used domestically produced odorless garlic, so there was no lingering smell, making it safe to eat motsu nabe. However, the weak garlic smell was a bit disappointing. The raw egg was from the JR Nanatsuboshi train's "uchino tamago" and was very delicious. There were plenty of condiments to choose from for flavor variations. Being part of the Rakuten group, the motsu included tripe, providing various textures to enjoy. The staff also explained things politely. There are many motsu nabe restaurants, but I think the cleanliness of the interior is top-notch.

I have visited a nearby Rakutenchi restaurant before and had a good impression of the food. This time, I visited this restaurant because it was close to the hotel where I stayed. It seems to have opened last year and is new and clean. I arrived early, but the restaurant was already quite popular with customers coming in one after another. I planned to have motsunabe based on the information here and on Rakutenchi's website, but it seems the menu has changed since October, and now there is only a high-end motsunabe for 2,000 yen excluding tax per serving (compared to 1,090 yen at other locations). I was a bit surprised by the price difference and almost thought about leaving (laughs). However, I asked if it was possible to order just one serving, and they said it was, so I ordered one. The motsunabe had a consistent and delicious taste, and the amount of meat in one serving was sufficient. I also had champon as a finishing dish. It seems that when it comes to the second generation of a restaurant like this one, the prices tend to increase suddenly, so I will be more cautious in the future. It's understandable that the restaurant may want to increase prices by slightly changing the name, but doubling the price seems a bit much... ===========

I visited 2nd Generation Rakutenchi for the first time and tried Saga beef motsunabe for the first time. The Saga beef motsunabe was as shown in the photo, with a strong red color and very little fat, making it very healthy. The texture was chewy and had a good bite, perfect to enjoy with beer. In the summer, I always crave hot pot, am I the only one? Lots of cabbage, leeks, and ginger are included, making me feel warm inside. You can choose between a pre-meal drink, a small dish, motsunabe, and either champon noodles or rice. It was amazing. The restaurant is new and very clean. Thank you for the meal. The restaurant has counter seats and semi-private rooms, with an open layout and friendly staff.

When staying in Hakata, "motsunabe" is a must-have. On the 2nd floor of Blossom Hakata Premier Hotel, there is a restaurant called "Rakutenchi." The hotel opened in September 2019, so the restaurant is new and clean. I ordered the motsunabe course (2300 yen) which came with small dishes (vinegar motsu or kimchi), Rakutenchi's selected motsunabe, Hakata silk tofu, and champon dumplings. It was great to have 6 different types of motsu. The freshness was excellent, no odor, and very tender and delicious. Plenty of leeks and sweet cabbage. The concentrated soup with motsu and vegetables cooked in it was exquisite. The silk tofu was smooth and tasty. There were 10 types of umami lined up in the center of the counter, allowing you to enjoy different flavors. This seems to be a service unique to this restaurant, which is great. I particularly enjoyed the oil-marinated mentaiko and gochujang. The champon noodles at the end were chewy and absorbed the soup well, tasting delicious. I was very satisfied with the delicious motsunabe.

I have been to the main branch of Hakata Motsunabe Rakutenchi several times, and the impression of Rakutenchi has changed completely. It's a beautiful shop in a beautiful building. The lighting is bright, and it has a modern and upscale look. There are counter seats in the center of the store, which is rare for a hot pot restaurant other than individual shabu-shabu. There are also private table seats, and we were guided to one of those. The young male staff's service is smart and likable. We ordered the "Special Saga Beef Motsunabe Course" for 3500 yen. It includes an appetizer, vinegar motsu, Saga beef motsunabe, Hakata silk tofu, champon noodles, dessert, and coffee. The amount of motsunabe is amazing. The chewy intestines have a rich flavor. As it cooks, the broth becomes more flavorful. The sweetness of the cabbage at the bottom acts as a good seasoning. It's truly impressive. Personally, I prefer this over what I had at the main branch. For the finishing touch, rice is fine, but I always go for champon noodles with Hakata motsunabe. Hakata's champon noodles are delicious. I was very satisfied. Thank you for the meal.

I stopped by when I traveled to Fukuoka. Fukuoka is known for motsunabe, and I tried it. It was delicious. The restaurant was very clean and provided a cozy atmosphere for dining. When I visit Fukuoka again, I want to eat motsunabe here.

I visited this restaurant on a weekend night. I was looking for a place that serves motsunabe for lunch and found this one available. I arrived around 6 pm and the restaurant was quite busy, almost full. It's located in Rakutenchi, so no wonder it's popular! Later I realized that this is the "second generation" of the restaurant. What makes it different is that they serve IT motsunabe, which is not common in regular Rakutenchi restaurants. They also have a bar-like area where you can freely take condiments like mentaiko mayo and takana, which adds to the fun. The motsunabe itself tasted just as good as always. I recommend this place, especially for those coming from out of town!

One serving of motsunabe with tofu costs 2350 yen (excluding tax). It contains 5 types of motsu and the taste is good, but the cost performance is not great. It would be perfect for two people at this price, but the broth is too thick, leaving my throat dry after eating.

The Rakutenchi restaurant was even better than usual, with lots of delicious and plump motsu (offal) that were large in size. The staff were friendly, and being located on the second floor of a hotel, the atmosphere was luxurious with a sense of sophistication. Highly recommended!
