Located at the west exit of Kasugahara Station, there is a chain izakaya called "Mekiki no Ginji-san." I often use this place for company drinking parties or private gatherings. Although the main focus is on seafood, they also have a good selection of meat dishes, showing that they are a well-established chain. The food is delicious as they use quality ingredients and cook them carefully. The prices are reasonable, thanks to their economies of scale, making it easy to enjoy seafood without breaking the bank. Despite its convenient location, the restaurant is not crowded, allowing for a relaxed dining experience.

On a late Sunday night, suddenly craving sashimi, I was torn between going to a sushi restaurant (but it was too late) or an izakaya (many are closed on Sundays). Then I remembered there was a fish restaurant near Kasugahara Station, so I decided to visit for the first time. I was seated in a semi-private area that resembled a bucket. The restaurant was quite spacious, with rooms in the back as well. I ordered a sashimi platter, salad, whale meat, fried squid, tuna bowl, grilled rice balls, and yakitori. While the yakitori was not the best, the rest of the dishes were quite good for a chain restaurant. They also had unique menu items not commonly found in other izakayas, making it a fun place to choose from. It seems they are open until quite late, so it's a good option for late-night dining when other places are closed.

I went to Ginji, a discerning eye at Kasugahara Station. When I opened the menu, it seemed like they only cared about cost and stable supply. The content was full of frozen items, and it made my appetite decrease just by looking at it. Sorry... I started with a tuna assortment and sazae. After that, although the impression was not great, I ordered various dishes like steamed sake. The appetizers were not tasty, and when meatballs and ginger pork came out, I couldn't help but laugh. The meatballs were rock hard, and why did they choose this for an appetizer? The ginger pork was the icing on the cake. Seriously, isn't this supposed to be for lunch? (laughs) The only thing that was delicious was the sazae. Everything else was mediocre. It seems like their concept is a popular seafood izakaya, but I realized that it is actually a very challenging business model. Honestly, I was at a loss for what to order. The bill ended up being unexpectedly high at ten thousand yen for two people. Thank you for the meal...

This is near the redevelopment of Nishitetsu Kasugahara Station~ There are many deep shops around here, and the "Terumina Shotengai" is currently a hot topic among locals on Jimoti (laughs). A little further towards Kasuga, there is a restaurant chain that doesn't unify its store names, like a Montelozza store. I don't really go to izakayas, so I'm not familiar with "Montelozza" (laughs). I went around 1 pm, and the spacious restaurant had only 2 groups of customers...(-_-;) One group seemed to be having a drinking party or a business meeting, dressed in suits, eating and drinking vigorously during the day (laughs). There aren't many people having lunch around here, but there are quite a few restaurants... (゚д゚)!? It's really difficult to win back customers who have moved to Aeon... (-_-;) Now, let's go inside the restaurant... Smoking is allowed, it seems. ((+_+)) I ordered the "Bara Chirashi Don, 820 yen" and the "Anago Tendon, 830 yen" from the lunch menu. Looking around the restaurant, they cleverly parodied a scene from "Kaiji" (laughs). They even have the "456 Sai" from the manga! This is hilarious (laughs). I might actually come back at night and buy this, you know? (self-destruct) Now, let's see how Ginji's discerning eyes judge the food! Let's eat... The Bara Chirashi Don doesn't have avocado as it initially looked, and the fish is thinly sliced, without any particularly fresh fish... (-_-;) We managed to finish it while using three types of soy sauce and complaining to each other (laughs). The vinegared rice was okay... It feels like this should be around 650 yen... ( ̄▼ ̄|||) On the other hand, the Anago Tendon was impressive! It's overflowing from the menu photo... (゚д゚)!? The eel was delicious... The warm rice with the sauce was also delicious...! Both my wife and I were very satisfied with this dish! The portion size wasn't too big, but as time passed, the eel just kept coming! Isn't this tastier than your average eel bowl? I haven't eaten many eel bowls, to be honest! ('ω') Thank you for the meal.

The unique thing about this restaurant is that it is open 24 hours, serving breakfast, lunch, and evening izakaya menus. I had lunch at this restaurant on this day as I had some business near Kasugahara Station. Since I was alone, I used the counter seat near the entrance to enjoy my meal. I ordered the "Mekiki no Makanai Bara Chirashi Don" from the lunch menu. The dish, priced at 820 yen, consisted of various sashimi pieces on vinegar rice, accompanied by miso soup with seaweed and tofu. The sashimi pieces included tuna, salmon, yellowtail, shrimp, ikura, and crab, all placed on top of the rice. I seasoned it with my favorite sweet sashimi soy sauce, which paired well with the sashimi and wasabi. The restaurant's 24-hour operation makes it convenient for me to consider having breakfast here before an early morning golf session.
