I had the Hanbei-san set meal for 920 yen (tax included). I chose the "kashiwa onigiri" as my rice option. The specialty "Tokubei don" is a udon version of champon with vegetables and seafood, and the Hanbei-san comes in a half size. Even though it's a half size, it's quite a filling amount. The set meal also comes with 2 onigiri, 2 pieces of karaage, and hiyayakko, so I got even fuller. In the side dish corner, there are free self-service pickles and u-no-hana available. Truly wonderful! Chikugo udon, the best! It was delicious. Thank you for the meal. I would love to visit again when I'm nearby.

The owner suddenly said they wanted to eat Katsudon set, so we came here. It's been a while since our last visit! I was planning to order curry udon, but then I found one with katsu on top, so I chose this one! It was quite filling. The broth was flavorful and delicious. Thank you for the meal!

It's been a while since I visited. There have been some changes to the menu. But today, I'm in the mood for hot pot udon. When asked by the waiter if I wanted to remove the lid from the hot pot udon in front of me, I quickly said yes. It's simmering and whets my appetite. The hot pot udon here has rice cakes, cashews, eggs, Chinese cabbage, enoki mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, and green onions. The broth is delicious.

I have visited many times and the fried chicken set at Tokubei is really delicious. The cost performance is great and the udon is also delicious. They accept PayPay and there are points available, so it's a great deal! I've tried the pork cutlet bowl, tempura bowl, champon, and oyster fry, but I always end up coming back to the fried chicken. Lately, whenever I crave fried chicken, I visit this place. The downside is that the service for adding pickles and side dishes is slow. If the timing is off, they might run out. I hope they can learn from the Miyaki store and replenish them promptly.

On a holiday before 1 pm, my family of two entered the restaurant. The restaurant was full with a wait of two groups. After waiting for about 5 minutes, we were seated at a table for six and ordered the tempura bowl set for 880 yen. The tempura bowl, which arrived in 7-8 minutes, included 2 shrimp, a large fish fillet, pumpkin, eggplant, shiso leaf, bell pepper tempura piled high on top of rice with a sweet soy-based sauce. The rice was also generously portioned. The udon noodles had a sweet broth with soft noodles, and adding the bonus kelp provided a nice accent, enhancing the overall flavor. The popular tempura bowl at this restaurant was truly delicious.

On the way back from a business trip to Kurume, I stopped by an udon restaurant. I was torn between regular udon, udon with burdock tempura, and a tempura set, but in the end, I chose the tempura udon set. The portion size was great and I think I made the right choice. They also had a wide variety of udon dishes on the menu, which was impressive. The service even included a side of hijiki and pickled vegetables. I opted for mixed rice with my set meal. The udon was soft and delicious, and the tempura had a good amount of volume.

There is a restaurant along the Kamitsubara Bypass that offers a variety of famous dishes from Kurume, such as hamburger steak, onion rings, and cannon ramen. Today, I tried the "Tokubei Udon" for the first time. The restaurant is a member of the Chikugo Udon Promotion Association. It was packed with families for dinner on a weekday. The menu offers 6 side dishes and tempura as well. I chose the Pork Cutlet Bowl set meal (¥850 including tax). The freshly fried cutlet is served on a bed of rice with a mildly sweet sauce and egg, along with chewy and flavorful udon noodles in a savory broth. The combination of the cutlet bowl and udon is fantastic, with the broth enhancing the overall taste. It was a delicious set meal with a good balance of flavors. The side dishes were also tasty. My taste buds and stomach were fully satisfied. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I couldn't resist ordering the hot pot udon because they were still serving it. The hot pot here is characterized by chewy noodles and meat. While waiting, I enjoyed some delicious side dishes. When the hot pot arrived, it was bubbling in the pot. The noodles were a bit stretchy and broke easily, making it difficult to eat. I ended up sweating a lot.

In Kurume City, there is a place called "Tokubei Udon". I visited the Uetsu branch on this day. The kake udon costs 320 yen. I also ordered the maruten udon (450 yen) and two kashiwa onigiri (200 yen for 2). The soup is said to be made with kelp from Rausu, shaved bonito flakes from Urume, mackerel, bonito, and anchovy. Although I cannot discern these flavors with my palate, I can tell that the soup has a unique taste with a hint of dried fish, which is rare in Fukuoka. In short, it is very delicious. The noodles are just the right thickness, smooth on the surface, and have a good texture. The maruten is hearty with plenty of toppings. It has a homemade feel that many people may enjoy, although I personally prefer simpler and chewier noodles. The kashiwa onigiri is a bit oily but tasty. Plus, the small side dishes buffet is a nice touch. Overall, I highly recommend this place.

I visited this restaurant twice. The first time I had Ebi Tempura Nabeyaki Udon and the second time I had Chicken Karaage Don Set. My husband had the Pork Cutlet Don Set and Katsu Curry Udon. Both the Nabeyaki Udon and Kake Udon were delicious! The Pork Cutlet Don was quite large and tasty! The Chicken Karaage was delicious when ordered as a standalone dish, but I didn't enjoy it as much in the donburi. However, it was big and piping hot! The Udon for takeout was also delicious, and I would love to go back again. The staff were also very friendly and helpful!

A few days ago, I came to Kurume City in Fukuoka Prefecture with the intention of eating Chikko Udon, but I ended up seeing a sign for Sanuki Udon and couldn't resist going to that restaurant. I had researched the restaurant on Tabelog and set my navigation to drive there. It was a 27-kilometer one-way trip, and I arrived at the restaurant at 12:00 pm on a weekday. The restaurant was crowded as expected during lunchtime. I was seated at the counter and ordered the Gobo Tempura Udon for 470 yen. I really wanted to eat the meat udon, but it seemed too expensive, so I always stick to the cheaper Gobo Tempura Udon. The self-service corner had simmered hijiki, vegetable salad, and okara daikon namasu. The Gobo Tempura Udon was served, and the noodles were chewy and soft, indicating that they were hand-made in-house. The thickly sliced Gobo tempura was tender and there were five pieces. It looked hard at first, but turned out to be surprisingly good. The soup was hard to decipher, but it seemed like they used several types of bonito flakes and the soy sauce was on the stronger side. The fact that they make the soup fresh every morning doesn't guarantee consistency, so there may be some variation in taste. Overall, I didn't dislike the noodles, and I'm considering going to eat Chikugo Udon today as well.

I tried the meat curry udon. It was a curry udon with a rich broth. I had been avoiding curry udon because it tends to splash on clothes when eating, but since my appetite has been low, I decided to give it a try for some stimulation.

I have been going there since I was little. I love noodles!! I had curry udon!! It was delicious, especially with white onigiri. It's great that you can eat a lot of side dishes for free. It's a good deal!!

I bought a gourmet magazine with a coupon and decided to use the 200 yen discount coupon at Tokubei Udon. The restaurant is located along the Uetsu Bypass and is easy to find. It has a cozy, traditional Japanese building that looks like a typical udon shop. The sign for "kaki fry" outside the shop reflects the changing seasons. Inside, there are tables for 4 people and a raised tatami area for 6 people. Near the entrance, there is a free side dish corner with dishes like simmered hijiki seaweed, dried daikon radish, pickled radish, and tempura scraps. However, it's a bit difficult to take them with small plates. I wish they had larger plates or even trays available. I ordered the "kaki fry set meal (980 yen -> 780 yen, tax included)" as I was drawn in by the copy advertising Hiroshima's Kurahashi Island oysters. The main dish had 5 large oysters that were deliciously crispy and juicy. The tartar sauce added a unique touch with its crunchy texture. The set meal also came with udon noodles, salad, cold tofu, and mixed rice. The dressing for the salad was a bit underwhelming for me. Overall, the udon and other items were tasty but nothing particularly outstanding. Perhaps the exceptional taste of the oysters overshadowed everything else? I believe it was a combination of the quality of the oysters and the skill in frying them that made them so delicious. Thank you for the meal.
