I visited Fukuoka's kitchen restaurant called Shiroya located on the 6th floor of Gallery Hakata, after passing through the underground mall from Hakata Lettere. The building is relatively new, with a meat sushi restaurant on the first floor. A friend who made a reservation mentioned that it offers private rooms and a weekend drink-all-you-can option for 200 yen for 30 minutes, which is quite cost-effective. Upon entering the private room, which was a traditional sunken kotatsu style, we ordered drinks and had a toast before enjoying the appetizer of simmered vegetables. The menu offered a variety of Hakata specialties, and we ordered a seafood salad sashimi, assorted grilled chicken skewers, chilled dumplings, fried chicken, miso stewed skewers, mentaiko rolled omelette, crispy shrimp mayo, and more. The miso stewed skewers were a hit, while the chilled dumplings had a slightly strong saltiness in the broth. The atmosphere was lively, with many young customers aiming for the drink-all-you-can option. The staff were friendly and accommodating, even helping with a birthday celebration by decorating a cake. We also ordered desserts, including a Mont Blanc with Yame matcha and a pound cake with Hakata Amaou strawberries, both of which were delicious. The overall cost was reasonable, with each person spending less than 3000 yen. The private room allowed for a leisurely dining experience, and the service was excellent. I would definitely consider visiting again in the future.

"Shiroya Hakata Chikushiguchi Store" in Hakata Station Higashi, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture. Today is the first day of my Fukuoka trip, and although I have been to Fukuoka many times, I have never tried the authentic Hakata motsunabe before. This time, I visited Shiroya for the first time. The atmosphere is like a typical izakaya, but all seats are private rooms which is great in this day and age. We ordered motsunabe, salad, potatoes, mentaiko tamagoyaki, takana pilaf, and more. The mentaiko tamagoyaki was surprising as it was just mentaiko on top without being wrapped in the egg. The salad, potatoes, and motsunabe were delicious. The takana pilaf seemed frozen, but overall, the motsunabe with miso-based soup was tasty. The staff were all friendly, making it a pleasant dining experience. Thank you for the meal."

■ Overall Impression I attended a small group drinking party and it was quite enjoyable. The limit was up to 4 people, and we had a private room, which was nice. I'm not sure about the menu, but it seemed like a course meal. It was more about enjoying conversations than the food, making it a good choice for a company gathering at an izakaya. ■ Yuzu-flavored Hakata Vinegar Motsu For those who love Hakata vinegar motsu, this was a delightful start to the meal. It was perfect for nibbling on while chatting. ■ Seared Lotus Root with Mustard Eating Kumamoto cuisine in Fukuoka was an interesting experience. It had been a while since I had mustard lotus root, and the spiciness was quite surprising. I wonder why they added mustard to it. ■ Satsuma Age with Grated Ginger I almost forgot about this dish. This is a Kagoshima dish. It was a standard satsuma age, not as freshly fried as the ones I had in Kagoshima. ■ Horse Meat Sashimi This was a Kumamoto dish, and personally, my favorite. Horse sashimi is always delicious. ■ Ryukyu Salad This was an Oita dish. I didn't know much about Oita cuisine other than chilled soup and chicken tempura, but it seems there are more dishes to explore. ■ Sesame Kanpachi This Hakata specialty was something I had a craving for at the beginning. Lately, I've noticed more sesame kanpachi than sesame mackerel, but I guess there are reasons for that. ■ Domestic Beef Motsu Nabe with Soy Sauce Broth There were various dishes throughout the meal, but this was the last one I remember. Many izakayas end with motsu nabe, and since many of us were already quite full by this point, there were leftovers. I enjoyed it, though. Thank you for the meal.

There were many types of alcohol available and the motsunabe was delicious. The private rooms allowed smoking and the location was very convenient near Hakata Station. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was lively with more customers than expected. The service was good and the food was delicious. I would like to go again!

I went to a restaurant called Shiroya located at Hakata Station, Chikushi side. I had the 4000 yen Shiroya course. Here are some photos and descriptions of the dishes I tried: - Hakata appetizer: Vinegared motsu (offal). It was a generous portion that served as a good snack throughout the meal. - Crispy fried truffle-scented potatoes topped with Parmesan cheese. - Fukuoka specialty sesame kanpachi (amberjack) served with a soft-boiled egg. It had a striking appearance and was delicious. - Tataki (lightly seared) of local chicken thigh, a specialty of Yukuhashi. - Yummy! Miso oden with three types of miso sauce, a specialty of Yukuhashi. - Chicken and pumpkin cheesy gratin with crispy breadcrumbs. - Hakata-style fried chicken in sukiyaki broth, served with a bite-sized fried dumpling. - Hakata free-range chicken sukiyaki. The meal was followed by a savory porridge. - Warabi mochi with black honey and spiral-fried purple sweet potato. The course also included all-you-can-drink, making it quite a good deal for 4000 yen. I was really full and satisfied today. Thank you for the delicious meal!

2-hour all-you-can-drink for 1600 yen, but with a coupon it's 1100 yen. The drinks come quickly in a completely private room. The food is decent, but a bit pricey. Overall, it's a good place to go.

When avoiding hot pot courses as a precaution against infection, the options are limited in the Chikushi area, so I tried this place for the first time. The dishes were served individually as requested in advance by email when making the reservation. There were plenty of dishes for the price, which I found reasonable. The taste was average, but we finished everything without leaving any, so I think the course content was good. It was a bit disappointing that the staff didn't come around promptly to take drink orders during busy times. The fact that you could choose from several types of sweet potato shochu for the all-you-can-drink option was well received by the participants. Compared to other restaurants, the small private rooms made it feel quite noisy when crowded. (I'm sure we were noisy too, as voices were hard to hear.) The emphasis on infection prevention was evident not only in the cleanliness of the restaurant and toilets, but also in the availability of alcohol spray throughout, which I thought was really good.

The drink service is super fast. In other places, I sometimes have to ask for my drink at least once, but that's not a problem here at all. Having private rooms is also nice, and all the young staff members were polite.

This restaurant, which had just opened, was not yet fully occupied as most of the building's floors were still empty. I made a reservation for about 15 people at 6:30 pm on a weekday to check it out. The all-you-can-drink course was on sale for around 3,000 yen due to the grand opening, so the organizer decided to choose this place. Since it was a new place, everyone was curious about it. The interior of the restaurant had a trendy design with partitions (shoji screens) that could be arranged to create a private room-like atmosphere. We started right on time. On the table, there was a pot with ingredients to light up and a starter of "Itoshima's pearl tofu" already set up. [The choice of pot was Hakata Jidori Mizutaki with a rich white soup] The course was inexpensive, so the number of dishes was limited. The Itoshima pearl tofu was surprisingly delicious. Some members of a certain age remembered a similar form of ice cream from the past. We enjoyed dishes like Kyushu-bred charcoal-grilled chicken and vegetable salad, then cooked the main dish in the pot. The pot was followed by ramen, which was a nice touch. However, towards the end of the pot, fried chicken was served, which was not great timing. The dessert, "Amou strawberry pound cake," was also... so-so. Since the restaurant had just opened, I hope to see improvements in their operations in the future. By 7 pm, the restaurant was already full.
