Today's adventure is aimed at conquering the lunch spots near my workplace in Yodoyabashi. As the new year of 2018 begins, I revisited the top-ranked restaurant from last year, "Kantekiya Kaname." The exterior was under renovation, so I couldn't take a full picture. However, I was familiar with the elegant interior from my previous visit. Despite the bustling atmosphere, we were quickly seated in a cozy private room. The lunch menu included items like Matsukado of the day, seafood bowl set, Kobe pork set, Wagyu hamburger set, Wagyu steak set, and sea bream rice bowl set. I highly recommended the Matsukado of the day to my junior colleague, and we both ordered it. The food took a bit of time to be served, but we didn't mind due to the proximity to our workplace. Once everything was served, we enjoyed a delicious meal together. Each dish was well-prepared and tasty. We savored the relaxing ambiance and good food, leaving satisfied. Compared to last year when the atmosphere slightly affected my experience, this time the restaurant started off well, hinting at a promising year ahead.

Located south of Yodoyabashi, in the Doshomachi area. Amid the surrounding office buildings being redeveloped, this restaurant has maintained its nostalgic charm. The interior has a cozy atmosphere, not quite like a traditional Japanese restaurant. During lunchtime, you can enjoy a delicious meal in a private room at a reasonable price. I chose the hamburger steak lunch this day, and it was fantastic - hot, juicy, and tender. In addition to hamburgers, they offer eel and Matsukado bento, among other tempting menu items. It had been a while since my last visit, but it was a great experience. Now, let's keep working hard in the afternoon. Thank you for the delicious meal.

When it comes to a moist meal in Yodoyabashi, this is the place. A traditional house with a sunken hearth. You can relax and unwind here. Grilling seafood on a portable stove adds a touch of luxury. The seafood is topped with the shop's special broth, but regulars can also opt for soy sauce. Since it had been a while for me, I went with the broth. They have a variety of sake options, so I tried different ones by the glass. The dessert at the end was also delicious, making it a great restaurant.

Last month, we treated the top performers to lunch to show our appreciation. The table and dishes were reserved in advance, so the conversation and meal went smoothly in a very pleasant atmosphere. The small dishes were carefully prepared and each one was delicious. However, the highlight was the "hitumabushi" dish, which consisted of a combination of Japanese beef and eel that we each enjoyed in our preferred ratio. Personally, I found that the best way to enjoy it was with the dashi tea at the end. Thank you for the meal.

It was disappointing that we couldn't have swimming squid due to heavy rain in Kyushu region. However, the seafood grilled on the shichirin was all delicious and satisfying. The high school girl who served us was cute and her hardworking attitude was heartwarming.

I used this restaurant for a meal with a female companion. We had made a reservation and were seated in a semi-private room with lattice partitions. The neighboring table's conversation was audible, which could be bothersome if they were loud customers. Fortunately, the neighboring guests left early, so we were able to enjoy our conversation in peace. We opted for the Sazanami course, starting with sashimi and moving on to grilling on a shichirin. The grilled dishes, including scallops, clams, prawns, and dried horse mackerel, were all delicious. The sea bream rice bowl at the end was also tasty. Overall, it was an experience that made me want to visit again. I look forward to trying their lunch menu as well.

I visited this restaurant because I was craving seafood. It is located in an office district, so I was able to walk in on a Saturday night without a reservation. The atmosphere is reminiscent of Kyoto. The interior is spacious, and we were able to relax in a semi-private booth. The sashimi was delicious, and the kama-meshi we ordered for the finale was also very tasty!

In the middle of the city, there is a wonderful old folk house. It's a lovely space. The staff were polite and we had a pleasant lunch. Since there were 8 of us this time, we were guided to a private room. It was nice to be able to talk with everyone without worrying about others. We had the Matsukado bento for lunch, and it was of quality that exceeded its price. The hot and delicious tuna nanban was particularly good. There were many dishes and everyone was enjoying the food.

A restaurant located in a 100-year-old traditional house from the Taisho era. They accept cash, card, and PayPay payments. Lunch options range from around 1,500 yen for a premium beef and tuna hamburger to a 3,190 yen wagyu sirloin teppanyaki. I visited alone at 11:40 am on a weekday. The first-floor table seats were almost full, so I was guided to the second floor where there were almost private tatami rooms.

Eel and wagyu beef hitsumabushi for 2,970 yen. This is a high-end version of "unagyu" and you can finish with dashi chazuke. The meal was served in less than 15 minutes. You can request the dashi broth using a call bell. The wagyu beef and eel were finely chopped. When eaten together, the slight fishy taste of the eel stood out. Eating them separately, I could enjoy the unique flavors of each. Eating it as is, then with condiments, and finally with dashi chazuke was a delightful experience. The freshly made tamagoyaki and tempura were excellent side dishes. This hitsumabushi set is sometimes sold out for customers with reservations, with only around 20 servings available on certain days. It was a satisfying and luxurious lunch experience.
Perhaps it was just a coincidence, but I couldn't help but notice the dust on the walls, ceiling, and air conditioning. The exterior and inner garden exuded the charm of the Taisho era, which was lovely, so a bit more cleanliness would be appreciated. I am interested in trying the eel rice and Matsukadou dishes, so I will visit again in the future. Thank you for the delicious meal.

This is a restaurant where I would like to come back because the seafood is delicious. The staff is friendly and the private rooms are comfortable. The atmosphere reminiscent of an old folk house is calming. It seems there are affiliated stores, so be careful not to make a mistake like I did. Next time, I want to try the swimming squid.

The atmosphere of the old Japanese-style house was calm and I was able to enjoy my meal in a private room. The food was delicious, but my friend seemed to struggle with the rareness of the meat. I wish they had asked about the preferred level of doneness. Personally, I think my dish could have been cooked a bit more. There was a tank of live squid next to the cashier, but they only serve it at night. It would be great if they also offered it during the day for those who can't come at night, like housewives.

I made a reservation for a lunch meeting using a Matsukado bento. I was seated on the second floor. The atmosphere was calm and suitable for a lunch meeting. The shabu-shabu, tempura, and bonito sashimi were plentiful. You can also have seconds of rice.

We made a reservation for 4 people at 12:30. We used it for a lunch meeting. The atmosphere from the entrance was nice. We had to take off our shoes, so especially for women, please be careful with your footwear when going to this restaurant! I ordered the sea bream rice set meal. The amount of rice was sufficient. After that, I enjoyed it as ochazuke as well. Since it is a private room, it is perfect for having a meal while discussing work leisurely!

The invitation was to take off your shoes and sit in a semi-private room with minimal partitions. The clientele seemed to be on the older side, probably due to the location. They served a seafood course starting with appetizers, then cooking clams and shrimp on a tabletop stove. The tuna croquette appetizer was amazing, with a generous amount of minced tuna and green onions coated in squid ink-infused breadcrumbs. The meal ended with sea bream rice, and for an extra 200 yen, they would sear the sea bream with straw. It did have a slightly smoky flavor, but after drinking too much, it seemed like a good idea. Overall, it was a great night!

It was raining in the morning, so we decided to have lunch nearby with a friend. We took off our shoes, put them in the shoe locker, and were guided to a private room. The room had a different atmosphere than usual. My companion ordered the limited sea bream rice set, while I ordered the special menu listed outside.
I ordered the "Beef and Toro Hamburg Steak (1320 yen)" and it was served in just 13 minutes. The rare and tender hamburg steak was topped with grated daikon radish, green onions, and salmon roe. Underneath the hamburg steak, there was a layer of onions. I poured a sweet soy sauce-based sauce over it and when I put my chopsticks in, it crumbled. The combination of tuna and beef may be a matter of personal preference. Overall, it was a delicious meal.

Kantei Yosan, how nostalgic. Back in the day when the word "entertainment" existed in Japan, there were places like, "Don't worry, Mr. President, we won't let you down ♬" and they were doing that kind of thing. A truly old-fashioned restaurant. The restaurant, renovated from an old private house, looks quite high-class but doesn't cost that much. It mainly offers private and semi-private rooms, making it suitable for entertaining or dating. It may be getting a bit old, but the tables are spacious and comfortable. Due to the pandemic measures, they are currently only open for lunch. Now, let's focus on the lunch. I had the beef toro hamburger! This hamburger is made by mixing tuna with beef and grilling it. It may seem unusual, but the taste is like eating a rare beef hamburger. It has a very soft texture and the taste is quite good. It is seasoned with a sweet soy sauce-based sauce, and you can also try it with wasabi pickles for a different flavor. It comes with a solid fuel burner, so it stays hot until the end. The rice is also shiny and cooked soft, which I really liked. The salad is generous and may be good for health-conscious individuals. All of this for 1320 yen. I thought it was quite good.

After a long time, I saw that the menu in front of the restaurant had changed. "Let's eat this!" As usual, I entered the Sabory Mantaro S (plural) shortly after opening. We ordered the seasonal limited edition Whitefish and Wagyu Beef Hitsumabushi set meal (2500 yen) together. The food was served in 10 minutes. It had more volume than it looked (there were about 3-4 bowls of rice). First, we tried it as it is. "Delicious!" For the second bowl, we mixed the whitefish with the sweet and spicy sauce (a bit spicy for some) and added a little yuzu pepper. "Delicious." Next, we added a little wasabi. "Delicious." Finally, we added some broth to make it like Hitsumabushi. The "Gout Bowl" for the old man was complete! We finished eating, feeling very full. "Thank you for the meal."

Exterior and interior with overwhelming presence. The atmosphere and ambiance are absolutely fantastic. This place is perfect for dates and entertaining. It's a restaurant where you can enjoy fresh seafood dishes in a traditional Japanese house from the Taisho era. This time, I went for lunch. I ordered the following: Whitefish and Wagyu beef hitsumabushi set meal for 2500 yen. As you can see in the photo, it looks delicious. A luxurious dish with plump whitefish and tender Wagyu beef. It was delicious whether eaten as is, with condiments added, or with broth poured over it. You can enjoy it in three different ways. The lunch menu at this restaurant also includes classic seafood bowls, steaks, Wagyu and tuna mixed hamburgers, and limited edition set meals, all of which look delicious. It was a wonderful lunch in a calm, adult atmosphere. It was the perfect lunchtime. Thank you for the meal.

Ultimate luxury lunch has arrived! Everyone's favorite shirako (milt) × wagyu, need I say more? Plus, you can even have it as hitsumabushi! A unique dish that you wouldn't expect! The shirako is creamy and the wagyu is tender. They are delicious on their own, but when combined, the flavor is intensified! The dashi for the hitsumabushi at the end is also delicious! Priced at 2500 yen including tax, it's a great option for when you want to indulge in a luxurious lunch! Thank you for the meal! [Store Information] Opening Hours: Lunch Mon-Fri 11:30-13:30, Dinner 17:30-23:00 Closed on Sundays and holidays, Tatami seating and private rooms available.

I regret not taking photos inside the store because it was so amazing! The interior decor of the store is fantastic, with many private rooms that would be perfect for a work gathering. I heard that the lunch here is delicious, so I definitely want to come back for that too! Definitely check it out!

Had a delicious meal at a seafood izakaya tonight! I was in the mood for seafood, so I finally decided to try out Kantekiya, a place I've been wanting to go to for a while. It did not disappoint. The sashimi, robatayaki, and kamameshi were all delicious. I resisted the temptation to have sake today, but I'm sure it would have been a perfect match. The prices are reasonable, and the cozy private rooms make it a safe choice even during the pandemic. If I had to nitpick, I prefer my ginkgo nuts a bit fresher and greener. Overall, the food was great, so I definitely plan on coming back. Give it a try!
