This is a restaurant located a short walk from the intersection behind Kachimasu Park, towards Yagi Mountain and Kyushu Institute of Technology. The restaurant showcases photos of their dishes, TV features, and awards, which caught my interest. They serve grilled meat and cabbage on a hot plate, enhancing the flavor with fat and spicy miso. As a fan of a similar restaurant called Manpuku-tei in Kawabata Shopping Street in Fukuoka, I immediately fell in love with this place. It's rare to find such hearty dining options in Iizuka, where the population is aging and traditional shops are declining. The system here is simple, with the menu consisting mainly of grilled meat. You can choose portions for 1 person, 1.5 people, or 2 people, with larger portions being slightly cheaper. Rice and miso soup are included, especially during lunch. The grilled meat is well-seasoned with salt and fat, served with a mountain of cabbage that complements the flavors perfectly. The cabbage is also seasoned with the meat and fat, creating a satisfying combination that pairs well with rice. The addition of spicy miso adds depth to the flavor, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. The restaurant was bustling with several customers, indicating its popularity. For someone like me who enjoys dining alone and eating a lot, this place is a must-visit. While I used to order 2 portions of meat and extra rice at the Kawabata Shopping Street restaurant, this time I opted for 1.5 portions, which was just right for me. The cabbage was crunchy yet tender, perfectly balanced with salt and fat, and paired well with rice. Adding spicy miso enhanced the flavor even more. The texture of the meat was excellent, neither beef nor pork, just a mysterious and delicious type of meat. The harmonious contrast between the meat and cabbage textures, along with the perfect balance of spicy miso, made this dining experience truly special. I look forward to stopping by again when I crave meat. It's a delight to have such a unique dining option in Iizuka. Thank you for the wonderful meal.
