A popular shop among young people launched by a famous TikToker! Bebitapi America-mura Honten is managed by TikTok creators, with "Eternal Alice" of Team48 as the general supervisor. The shop opened on August 24, 2019. Bebitapi has two directly managed stores, and the Tokyo Harajuku store opened on October 9, 2021. In 2019, "Bebitapi" ranked 2nd in the "Word Division" of the "JC・JK Trending Words Awards 2019" announced by AMF Co., Ltd. The shop is located about 70m from Mitsu Park (Gotsubo Park) towards the Ogokubashi-suji Street direction on the right-hand side. The nearest station is Yotsubashi Station, about 260m away, a 3-minute walk from the shop. The business hours are from 11:00 to 18:00, and the regular holiday is Wednesday. There is also an eat-in space, but tapioca and tornado potatoes for takeout are popular! The ordered menu item is Tornado Potato (small). The small size is 30cm long. The potato is skewered on a tornado stick, making it easy to eat on the go. You can choose from various flavors such as salt, cheese, honey butter, barbecue, chili, and onion! It was disappointing that the potato was quite cold, but I think it's a great shop for young people to feel closer to famous TikTokers! [Order] Tornado Potato (small) 400 yen

I went to a popular shop among young people on SNS, a Bepitapi shop in Amerikamura. It opened at 11 o'clock, and when I arrived 30 minutes early, I was about the 10th in line, probably because it was a weekday. I originally planned to get a tapioca drink, but it was too hot, so I ended up choosing a refreshing drink instead. My child got Tornado Potatoes and a frozen drink, while I got Muscat Squash and Pineapple Squash from the ticket machine. We got our drinks with a shout of "Furuccha Pearl" and had our straws inserted. The drinks had plenty of muscat and pineapple fruit chunks, and they were delicious. The carbonation was on the weaker side. The taste was pretty average, but the highlight was being able to participate in the performance and take videos and photos. My child loves Fortnite, so they didn't really know much about Bepitapi's fun characters, but they were satisfied just by being able to visit the cute shop of Nanae Alice.

I visited the popular Bebitapi restaurant in response to my daughter's request. There was a long line in front of the shop near Triangle Park in Amerikamura. When I asked the staff about the line, they directed me to another line across the street. We waited in line for about 30 minutes. Finally, it was our turn! My daughter, who is usually shy, was surprisingly proactive that day. She had fun doing Bebitapi with the staff. The staff's service was excellent and very pleasant. Thank you very much!

After checking out of the hotel, we loaded our luggage into the car and parked it in a coin parking lot. We visited a popular restaurant in America-mura that my daughter wanted to go to. We had to wait in line for about 1 hour and 20 minutes before finally getting our food. We ordered tornado potatoes, grapefruit squash, black sugar baby tapi milk, baby tapi chocolate, baby tapi cafe mocha, and frozen cup blue Hawaii, totaling 3,450 yen. The tornado potatoes were visually impressive, and the tapioca was average. Overall, it took us about 1 hour and 40 minutes to finish our meal.

Osaka Travel Diary Part 2 After enjoying ourselves at the aquarium, we headed to the hotel where we were staying to check in, as we had some big luggage with us. Luckily, even though we arrived earlier than expected, our room was already prepared. We left our luggage in the room and quickly set off for our next destination. This time, it was a tapioca shop in America-mura that my daughter had been wanting to visit since we decided to go to Osaka. We took a train and got off at Namba Station, then walked through the streets towards the tapioca shop. After about a 10-minute walk, we arrived at the shop, which was easy to spot with its cute sign. My daughter was already excited. There wasn't much of a line, so we quickly made our way to the ticket machine. My daughter chose her favorite items, not only tapioca but also a specialty called Dragon Potato. It seemed that her favorite YouTuber was working at the counter today, which made her even more excited. She was beaming with a big smile, but also seemed a bit nervous. The staff was very kind and chatted with us while preparing our order. When they handed us the drinks, they said some sort of magical words together and passed us the straws. I later found out they were saying "Bebe Tapi." Sorry, I'm in my 50s and I don't really get it... Dragon Potato was a stick of potato fries twisted into a tornado shape, and it was surprisingly delicious. The tapioca was matcha milk, which was also quite tasty. We only took a sip or two, but my daughter was very satisfied. It was a great meal for the three of us.

I was looking forward to a certain academic conference, but it was canceled due to the influence of the coronavirus. However, I still wanted to participate in a mini reunion with young people, so I headed to Osaka. The Shinkansen train was empty, like really empty. I asked my daughter if she wanted anything from Osaka, and she requested to visit a shop called Bebitapi and take photos. It's a shop run by members of a group called "48" that she watches on YouTube. The shop was located in Amerikamura. So, I went there for my daughter. Bebitapi in Amerikamura was less crowded than the nearby park. It might be a shocking sight for those who know the usual scene there! There were only about 3 customers in the store. It was quite empty. No tickets needed for entry. I thought I had completed my mission by taking photos, but when I looked around the shop, I saw... Isn't that Emu? The super cute staff member in the shop, isn't that Emu? She was being filmed and photographed, isn't that Emu? I was so excited to unexpectedly encounter the actual person! Even though I'm 40 years old, I was thrilled! So, even though we had just eaten, we decided to have some tapioca drinks. They had a variety of items for sale. I didn't fully understand the "48" concept, but I realized that some members worked at this shop. Checking Twitter, I found out that Amaliza-kun and Emu-chan were working that day. It was really them! (My excitement went up↑↑↑) I'm a timid person, but I took the opportunity to film a video of Bebitapi. ⇒ https://www.instagram.com/p/B9YV-i2D62z/ So cute! I'm glad I went to Osaka and had a great time! The tapioca milk tea was not mind-blowing, but the shop itself was entertaining. The satisfaction level exceeded the price. And then... when I sent the video of Emu-chan to my daughter, she called me immediately and said, "Mom, that's not fair! That's mean! Unfair!" Wait, what? You're the one who requested it, and now you're dissing me?! That's not fair!

There are many tapioca shops in Shinsaibashi America-mura, but "Bebe Tapi" here always attracts long lines due to its popularity on TikTok and other social media platforms. When I tried to visit in the afternoon before, they only had tickets for 3-4 hours later, so I gave up. On my second attempt, I went on a Sunday at 9:30 am and was able to get a ticket for 10:40 am. Only the representative can collect tickets for the group, so everyone needs to be present. When I returned at 10:30 am, the people with the same 10:40 am tickets were already lining up. We waited in line again and purchased our drink tickets at the ticket machine inside the small shop. They offer not only tapioca drinks but also cheese hat dogs and tornado potatoes. We ordered the tapioca mango drink and strawberry drink. The drinks are served from the back, and the staff perform a fun routine of calling out the order numbers and serving the drinks. They even offer to take videos for you. The friendly and energetic male staff member says, "Here we go, Bebe Tapi! Thank you very much!" as he skillfully places the straws in the drinks. People come to see this performance every day, especially on weekends. When I visited for the third time, I arrived around 10:30 am and received a ticket for 13:30. However, when I came back at 13:10, the people with the same 13:30 tickets were already lining up, and the tickets for the day had already been distributed. I had to wait for about 40 minutes in line. Some people even had to leave the line because they were worried about missing their Shinkansen train. It's not guaranteed that you will get your drink at the time on your ticket. The drinks are delicious and the experience is fun, but be prepared for the ticket system and the wait time.

HKT48's 5th generation member Kodoharu (Haruka Kodoh) taught Aichii (Airi Ichimura) how to do the "Baby Tapi" straw piercing. I looked it up and found out that it's a famous shop on TikTok, with videos on YouTube of people doing the Baby Tapi. I went to the shop in America-mura right away! Even though it was the weekend, around 5 pm, there were only about 4 or 5 customers ahead of me. When you buy a milk tea for 490 yen from the vending machine, the information goes to the counter and kitchen, and you just wait in line. When your number is called, the staff member says "Baby Tapi!" and pierces the straw for you. Of course, I asked to take a video as well ^_^) Well, that's pretty much it. The tapioca was soft and chewy. The tapioca itself wasn't very sweet.

When I went on a trip to Osaka, I absolutely wanted to visit a place - I went shopping in Amerikamura and discovered a shop with a long line... but since I was there, I had to line up! I waited for about 15 minutes and bought some tapioca, then finally got my hands on the Baby Tapi♪ that I had been wanting! The tapioca itself was pretty average, so there's not much to comment on (lol). I also tried the long fries, which were like the photogenic fries you often see in Harajuku, with a salty flavor that was just delicious! Thank you for the meal.
