September 2015, it had been a while since my last visit. I still prefer the private room for a calm atmosphere. I had the best lunch option for lunch. Pork and Wagyu beef shabu-shabu. The pork was tender and delicious, while the Wagyu beef was soft and melted in the mouth. I like that there are three different sauces to keep things interesting. The Japanese-style green onion broth was my favorite. In June 2013, I think I visited about five times for dinner. And now, my first lunch visit. It was around 2:30 pm, but I just made it in time for lunch. I ordered the shabu-shabu lunch for 1280 yen. It came with side dishes, pork shabu set, rice, pickles, and dessert. Such a great deal!!! The dish was full of vegetables, and it was enough to fill me up. The meat was tender and delicious. The three sauces were the same as in the evening – ponzu, sesame, and Japanese-style broth. I especially enjoyed the dessert, which was a strawberry rare cheesecake or mousse. It was also delicious!! A luxurious and satisfying lunch experience.
October 2012, my second visit. The cozy atmosphere of the private room is great. It was a Friday, and I didn't have a reservation, but luckily I got a spot. The private room was small and crowded, but I was happy to be able to eat. I ordered the shabu-shabu again. They had an all-you-can-eat promotion for their 6th-anniversary campaign. I thought the quality of the meat might be lower, but it was the same as usual, so I went for the all-you-can-eat option!!! I got the Kinunobuta & Josen Kuroge Wagyu set for 3,480 yen. The regular course is 3,150 yen, but with the all-you-can-eat option, it included rice (usually +300 yen), so it ended up being the same price. It included rice, appetizers, meat, vegetables, pickles, dessert – basically, all-you-can-eat. They served appetizers, vegetable set, and meat set (lots of pork and 3 pieces of beef). You can't order just pork or beef separately. You have to finish the meat set before you can order more. So, if you want to eat a lot of beef, it's better to go for the beef course from the start. We didn't plan to order more since we eat less, but we ended up ordering an extra plate of meat and 4 servings of chrysanthemum greens. You can order additional vegetables separately, which is great!! All-you-can-eat is highly recommended!!!
July 2012, I had been to the Nishijin store once before, but this was my first time at the Itoham store. The main dish seems to be beef shabu-shabu, but I really wanted to eat pork that day, so I ordered the Itojima-produced premium black pork shabu-shabu course for 2,100 yen. It came with appetizers, vegetable set, pork loin & pork belly, and dessert. Rice was not included, so I ordered it for an additional 300 yen. You could also order porridge or udon, but I wanted a hearty meal, so I chose rice. The best part was the sauces. There were three types!! Sesame, ponzu, and Japanese-style broth. For the sesame sauce, they recommended adding garlic and leeks, which I did. The rich sesame sauce was delicious. But my favorite was the warm Japanese-style broth. It had plenty of white leeks, and I wanted to eat noodles with it. It was really delicious. The vegetable set included Chinese cabbage, green onions, chrysanthemum greens, enoki mushrooms, shimeji mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, tofu, kuzukiri noodles, carrots, and rice cakes. There were plenty of Chinese cabbage and green onions, which was nice. There were also plenty of chrysanthemum greens, and they were delicious when wrapped in pork. The pork was sliced quite thinly, and I was worried if I would get full, but I was already stuffed. I wanted to order udon, but I was too full for that (laughs). I already like meat with less fat because I can eat a lot of it, and I liked the pork belly here! It wasn't greasy at all, and I felt like I could eat as much as I wanted. The dessert was yuzu sherbet. Overall, it was delicious, I could relax in the private room, and the staff were all smiles.
