Today, I went shopping in Honmachi and came across a bargain. On the way, I stopped at Zee Rok and had an ice cream mochi ice cream. I was planning to move on to the next shop. Just the day before, it was featured on the TV show "Oh Soremi Miyo." However, it was closed on Sundays and holidays... Bummer. I arrived at this restaurant, which I couldn't make a reservation for in advance (reservations are possible for courses over 2200 yen). There were terrace seats in front of the restaurant, and when I asked, they allowed us to sit and wait, so we were the first in line! At 11:30, we were seated. There were four of us, so we were seated at the 4-person table near the counter. After that, a group of two was seated at the 6-person counter, and it became full. Then, the reserved guests started arriving. By noon, it was fully booked, and the later guests were offered terrace seats. There were about three more groups that were turned away. Amazing! I didn't know this popular restaurant was hidden behind my usual shopping spot! When I asked my friends, they said there are three other branches, so maybe this one recently relocated? The appetizer was amazing! Was it prosciutto? It was incredibly tender, and the pickles were a nice touch. Was it marinated sardines? Very easy to eat! There was something like rice... what was it? It was the most delicious, so I asked, and it was spelt wheat. It had a miso-like, rich flavor. The pasta was not cilantro, but basil? It had a slightly spicy kick, maybe from the cheese? It was a thin pasta with chunky minced sausage in a white wine and oil sauce. The homemade focaccia was soft and slightly warm. The tea, coffee, and homemade cookies were a nice touch. The meringue cookies were delicious! The restaurant was clean, and the food was tasty! However, I found the female staff a bit rough. They were busy, and they were also helping in the kitchen, so maybe it couldn't be helped... It was a shame that the appetizer explanation wasn't available for us on the 1000 yen lunch. Maybe it was because the ladies were chatting... Well, despite being busy, we could chat leisurely without feeling rushed, so the atmosphere was good, and I will definitely visit again. Previously, the 1000 yen lunch included a drink for an additional 100 yen and dessert for 300 yen. But now, only the drink was 200 yen. With the tax and cookie, it might be a price increase! But, don't you think 1200 yen including tax is still reasonable? I found a pretty good restaurant.
