It was a seafood bowl. It cost around 2,300 yen. The ingredients were fresh, especially the sashimi. The rice was a bit too hard, which was a little disappointing. The miso soup was very delicious. I think it would be nice to have some background music in the restaurant.

There is an eel restaurant in Kushiro?? I saw their seafood curry on TV and was curious, so I decided to visit! I sat at the counter, but they didn't give me a lunch menu... no curry listed... I asked if they had curry and they said they did. Well, can I see a menu or something! The only people at the counter were regulars, and it felt like they should at least do the basics! It seems like this kind of place contributes to the declining population... haha. As for the taste, it was just a normal curry with lots of seafood in it! It didn't feel like the seafood flavor was well infused from being stewed. Similar to a certain surf clam curry.

When it comes to eel, this place is a must-visit. I crave it regularly. I always order the grilled eel rice bowl and sashimi. The eel is delicious, and the sashimi is also very satisfying. The seafood curry seems to be popular, so I want to try that next time!

This is a relatively light and mild curry. You can faintly taste the seafood broth, and the ingredients are plentiful. The spiciness is around medium, with a hint of spiciness. The rice is cooked firm and goes well with the curry. Personally, I would have liked a bit more depth of flavor.

Before leaving Kushiro, I really wanted to eat at Chikuhan, so I decided to stop by. I ordered the Seafood Curry Rice in a large portion (1200+100 yen). There was one group of customers before me and one group after me, all ordering seafood bowls or grilled fish. About 10 minutes later, my order arrived. Here it is! It may not look very photogenic, but it's a seafood curry with plenty of seafood. The large portion had quite a bit of rice...haha. As I was eating, they also brought out a freshly cooked potato for me to enjoy! The potato was delicious and fluffy. The curry was light and slightly spicy, made with a variety of seafood such as shrimp, scallops, baby scallops, surf clams, oysters, salmon, mackerel, squid, and more. It was fun to eat so many different types of seafood. I was satisfied with the large portion and my stomach was full. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal! The grilled Okhotsk Atka mackerel that the customer after me ordered looked big and tasty...haha.

After seeing the post from ginma206 on MyRebi, I felt like eating curry and decided to stop by. I ordered the Seafood Curry for 1300 yen, which took about 10 minutes to be served. Wow, it's filled with seafood - shrimp, crab, squid, scallops, clams, surf clams, and salmon, all generously covered in curry sauce. The curry itself is on the lighter side, but delicious with a hint of spiciness. The seafood broth adds a nice touch, and the dish is cooked to perfection. It was really tasty. Thank you for the meal!

Visit date: June 19, 2021 Lunch on this day was a revisit to Chikuhan with a friend. We arrived around 12:45. We ordered: - Seafood curry x2, one with extra serving. It was served in about 5 minutes. The seafood curry itself was quite spicy. The seafood included salmon, crab, shrimp, scallop, squid, oyster, and surf clam. It was filled with plenty of seafood. Although the curry itself didn't have a seafood flavor, every bite contained seafood. However, it was a bit difficult to eat due to bones and shells. Actually, the seafood curry was different from what I had imagined, but I was satisfied to finally try the seafood curry at Chikuhan. Thank you for the meal.

On May 20, 2021 (Thursday) for dinner, I had a sudden craving for Chikuhan's seafood curry rice, so I visited the restaurant. Due to the state of emergency declaration, I called in advance to confirm the business hours. Until May 31, alcohol is served until 7 pm. The closing time is at 8 pm. I was guided to a private room and looked through the menu... Huh? "Seafood Curry Rice" is not there! Seriously!? (´°д°`) When I asked the landlady, she said it is listed on a different menu. Phew~ ε-(´∀`;) I quickly ordered it, and it was served in about 10 minutes. It was indeed delicious~♡ The curry doesn't have a strong richness, but the umami of the seafood is well blended into the sauce. It's a slightly bitter adult curry♪ The ingredients include shrimp, crab, squid, scallops, clams, and surf clams. There was also a fish that I couldn't quite identify. When I asked later, they said it was soy. It seems to change depending on the fish they get that day. I enjoyed the unique curry of the local cuisine restaurant. (´∀`)

Lunch on March 3, 2021 (Wednesday). I tried a very interesting menu that I discovered when I visited the other day. "Seafood Curry Rice (excluding tax 1200 yen)" After a while, the dish arrived. Wow! The plate was full of curry roux. It's nice to have plenty of roux. I'm happy with this generous serving♪ At a glance, it looks like there are four types of seafood ingredients: shrimp, clams, squid, and scallops, maybe? Let's dig in. Mmm, delicious (⸝⸝⸝›௰‹⸝⸝⸝) Yummy~♡ The roux has a nice thickness and is just to my liking. The seafood broth also has a nice flavor. The spiciness gradually creeps up afterwards. The shrimp had shells on, so my hands got a bit messy peeling them, but they provided tissues, so it was no problem. They really take care of their customers here. I really like this place and would like to become a regular customer.

On February 27, 2021 (Saturday) for dinner, I indulged in a luxurious meal for the second time after payday at a long-established restaurant founded in the first year of the Showa era. I had the "Unaju (eel over rice, 4000 yen excluding tax)" at Chikuhanten, a renowned eel restaurant in Kushiro. I had to wait for about 20 minutes until it was grilled. I was seated in a private room, and since there were no other customers, it was very quiet and peaceful while waiting for the dish. After a while, the sliding door opened, and the proprietress brought in the eel dish. The aroma was delightful, and the eel glistened beautifully. I sprinkled some sansho pepper on the rice before placing the eel on top. This way, the sauce and sansho pepper do not mix, and the dish can be enjoyed even more deliciously. Now, I took a bite... Mmm, delicious! The eel was tender and the sauce was exquisite. The sauce alone could make you eat a bowl of rice. My wife also praised the dish highly. It had been over ten years since she last had eel, and she was completely absorbed in eating it. The liver and pickles were also delicately flavored, not overpowering the taste of the eel. It was a very satisfying dinner. I also became a fan of the husband and wife who run the restaurant. I heard they also serve lunch from 11:30, so I might revisit soon.

I visited Chikuban, famous for eel, in Kushiro. I ordered oyster fry, crab croquette, zangi, grilled fish set meal, and beer to cheers. The small private seating area allows for a leisurely meal. Although the prices may seem a bit high, the deliciousness justifies it. Everything was delicious. However, there are no appetizers even if you order beer, so it's a good idea to order something like salted fish before the dishes arrive. If you want to eat delicious food, I recommend this place.

Visit date July 24, 2019. For dinner on this day, I visited Chikuhanten with a companion. I wanted to try eel... not the ones sold in supermarkets, but the ones from Chikuhanten in Kushiro. We arrived around 19:30. There were 2-3 groups of customers at the counter. Since the restaurant is long and narrow, they didn't notice us sitting at the raised seating area. I wanted to sit at the counter, but it was full, so we sat at the raised seating area. We ordered: - Unaju (eel on rice) for 4000 yen, with one serving having extra rice. They said it would take about 15 minutes, but it actually took 30 minutes to arrive. While waiting, I saw a large dish of food that looked delicious, so I decided to order that as well. The eel on rice was fluffy and the skin had a nice combination of fat and sauce. The rice was cooked perfectly to my liking. The liver dish had a subtle flavor of Mitsuba (Japanese parsley). It was lightly seasoned but tasty. If you wanted more flavor, they provided extra sauce and Sansho pepper. Large dish (name unknown): Potatoes wrapped in thinly sliced beef belly. The beef belly was sweet and well-seasoned, giving a hint of sweetness to the potatoes. It was very delicious. The friendly owner and elegant lady running the restaurant provided good service. The total bill was 8640 yen. The Unaju was 4000 yen + tax x 2 with extra rice, and we also ordered the large dish. They mentioned "Enjoy this while waiting" and "Let us know if you need more rice" during our wait. Was it a complimentary service? I felt a bit guilty, but it was very much appreciated. Although the 4000 yen Unaju is not something you would casually eat, they also offer set meals which seem like a good option. Thank you for the meal.

I ordered sashimi while waiting for my unagi donburi to be ready, thinking it would take a long time. The shellfish was surprisingly good, so I also added squid and tuna. They were also a hit. And the unagi donburi was reliably delicious. The sashimi was also very affordable. It was the best.

I visited for lunch but the set meals were surprisingly expensive... The evening menu also has quite high prices... There's no need to eat eel in Kushiro, so I decided on a bento for lunch. It was surprisingly diverse and good value, even came with sashimi. The female staff member was always quick to refill my tea and had a good attitude. I think the bento is the way to go here...

My wife and I went to the restaurant after a few years. The inside of the restaurant was filled with a delicious aroma. The taste was familiar and nostalgic. The meat was juicy and the skin was slightly crispy. I want to go again without waiting too long.

I came to Kushiro for work and visited a restaurant recommended by a local. It is located right next to a famous bridge. The restaurant is underground, not too small nor too large, typical of local establishments. There is a counter and tatami seating, with enough space to accommodate around thirty people. Since it was lunchtime, I tried the recommended eel dish. The eel and rice came in a two-tiered box, with the eel in a lightly flavored sauce. The taste was neither outstanding nor disappointing. I feel sorry for the person who recommended it, but I probably won't be visiting again.

I was very tired from work one day when I came to Kushiro. I searched for something nutritious to eat at night and found this restaurant. Even though it was almost closing time, I called ahead to let them know I was coming. When I arrived, I was a bit unsure because the restaurant was located in the basement of a building. But once I entered, I saw the kitchen on the right side and a friendly chef greeted me at the counter. I ordered the eel rice bowl. I watched as the eel was steamed and grilled, filling the air with a delicious aroma. When the eel rice bowl arrived, it was huge! The eel was peeking out nicely and the sweet sauce smelled amazing. After taking a bite, I couldn't help but tell the chef, "This is the best eel I've ever had." I truly meant it. The eel was thick and the sauce was perfect. I found out that the eel was from Kyushu, but it was the chef's skill that made it so delicious. When I went back and took a hot bath before bed, all my fatigue disappeared. Since then, every time I come to Kushiro every few months, I make sure to visit this restaurant for the eel rice bowl. Every time I eat it, I still think it's delicious. I've had eel in Sapporo too, but this restaurant's eel is the best. They say that during busy times, they run out of eel, so it's best to call ahead. I don't want to tell anyone, but I can't help but share this deliciousness with someone. It's a place with such great taste. The chef and the owner are always kind. I wonder when I can eat it again... It's really delicious.

I visited this restaurant for lunch and ordered eel rice bowl and grilled eel. Hmm... I don't think the ingredients were fresh. There was a strong smell and I found small bones in the eel. The sauce didn't taste good either. And for a bill of 15,000 yen for two people, it's a bit much. I can't help but compare it to places like "Tomosakae" in Hakone and "Unawa" in Kozu.
