Michelin Bib Gourmand 2022 listed restaurant. They also offer takeout sales with a kitchen car at the storefront, creating a casual atmosphere. B Set Lunch for 2200 yen: - Assorted Appetizers: Roast beef with ratatouille, beet and carrot salad, firefly squid, and mushroom soup (the hot mushroom flavor was delicious) - Pan-fried sea bream with paprika sauce (crispy skin and plenty of vegetables, the paprika sauce had a curry flavor) - Grilled pork loin with mustard sauce (marinated in salt koji, very tender with a crispy surface) - Assorted desserts: vanilla ice cream, cheesecake, pound cake - Drink: received as a service for adding as a friend on LINE As a reservation benefit, they also served canelé. Even without a double main course, the dessert was plentiful and excellent. It was a wonderful restaurant experience.

It was my first time using it for my birthday. I chose the 5,000 yen course. The first dish was fried pizza with prosciutto. The harmony of the olive oil flavor, crispy pizza texture, and salty prosciutto was delightful. The second dish was an assorted appetizer plate. It included truffle-scented potato salad with potato chips, low-temperature cooked pork with garlic-flavored edamame, carrot rapé, roast beef with ratatouille, seared fish with soy sauce and caviar on couscous. Everything was delicious and made me want to have some wine. But I couldn't drink because I drove. Main course was rabbit, which was light and not gamey, similar to a mix of pork and chicken. The sauce and grilled vegetables provided a variety of textures and enjoyable flavors. Lastly, coffee and dessert were served. Originally it was fig compote with ice cream, but when I mentioned it was my birthday, they made a birthday plate for me, which was beautiful and made me happy. It came with a canelé. Overall, it was delicious. The bistro atmosphere was nice, not too formal, and seemed like a good place to relax and have a drink.

You can enjoy high-quality and delicious food in a casual atmosphere. If you feel like you can't finish a full course meal, you can choose the most casual course and customize the main dish with your favorite options, which will surely satisfy you. It is becoming a popular choice for weekend lunches during my stay in Kansai.

The Italian bar "Koizumi" in Higashi-Mikuni has been transformed into "Hortensia Bistro". I visited during lunchtime and ordered Lunch Course B. The appetizer trio included marinated bonito, carrot and beet salad, and smelt escabeche. A fresh salad was served, followed by corn soup and baguette. The main dish was grilled pork loin marinated in salt koji with mustard sauce. The meat was tender thanks to the salt koji, and the mustard sauce added a delicious flavor. For dessert, there was a trio of cheesecake, vanilla ice cream, and fruit cake. I had a hot coffee, which was mild with little bitterness. The address is 4-15-12 Shiozaki Building 1F, Higashi-Mikuni, Yodogawa-ku, Osaka.

In the past, when I passed by, it was quite bustling. So I made a reservation and visited. When we arrived around 12 o'clock, there were still plenty of seats available, but before we knew it, even the terrace seats outside were filled with customers. It's a good thing we made a reservation. It's a must to reserve on holidays. We ordered the lunch set B, which included assorted appetizers, salad, soup, main dish, and dessert. We also ordered the pate de campagne since it was our first time at the restaurant. The appetizers were all delicious. The carrot salad had a nice cumin flavor that blended well with the vinegar. The couscous under the bonito was also well done. The beets with walnuts were a classic combination. Although the portion size was small for appetizers, each dish was carefully prepared. The pate de campagne we ordered separately was also excellent - firm texture and well-seasoned. The salad, made with common ingredients, was surprisingly delicious with a standard dressing that enhanced the flavors without losing the natural moisture of the vegetables. The mushroom soup was slightly salty but had a rich flavor. For the main course, my companion had pork, and I had fish. The fish sauce with celeriac was delicious, and the green vegetables on the edge of the plate were also well-prepared. A taste of the pork revealed its tenderness and flavorful miso sauce. Pork and miso are a great combination. Before dessert, we were served canele, made with rice flour. It was also delicious. The chef, who seemed to be running the kitchen alone, lowered the dessert expectations, but the canele was crispy on the outside and gooey with an egg flavor inside. The chocolate cake was perfectly baked with a rich cocoa flavor. I am grateful for the effort put into transforming everyday ingredients into such delightful dishes. The wine selection was not extensive, but it seemed to offer a variety of grape types that complemented the dishes. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

Near Higashi-Mikuni Station, there is a bistro that won the Bib Gourmand this year, which was surprising given its location. It's a French restaurant. I was somewhat skeptical at first, but a fellow reviewer visited for lunch and gave it a good review, so I decided to check it out. 1. Exterior, atmosphere, interior: Located about a 3-minute walk from Higashi-Mikuni Station, a bit off the main street. The facade is bright blue with white parasols. Warm light spills out from inside. The front is adorned with beautiful hydrangeas, the inspiration for the restaurant's name. What I loved the most was the open terrace seating. Enjoying wine while feeling the breeze and gazing at the hydrangeas is truly wonderful. 2. Food: I opted for a la carte instead of the set menu. The appetizer included green and black olives with Iberico ham, beautifully presented on a black rectangular plate. The special pate with juniper berries and citrus was rich and refreshing. The asparagus salad was crisp and fresh, a perfect dish for spring. The truffle-infused potato salad was creamy and unique. The rich liver mousse melted in the mouth, complemented by black pepper. I ended with a French cheese selection. 3. Service: There was only one male server managing the floor, and he handled our needs well. Though the explanations of dishes and wines were a bit shaky, his effort was evident. I expected the chef to make an appearance, but unfortunately, that didn't happen. 4. Value: The dishes were well-prepared and paired nicely with wine. However, I didn't encounter a standout dish that truly impressed me. The service, while decent, didn't quite reach a high level. The ambiance was lovely, and I enjoyed the terrace seating, but I wouldn't say it offers great value for the price. 5. Other notes: The menu included a detailed page about the chef's background, showcasing his experience at "My Company."

Bistro French Orangerie offers high-quality authentic French cuisine in a casual setting. Located in a residential area in Higashi-Mikuni, it is a hidden gem known to those in the know. Their popular dish is the steak with foie gras on top, priced at 5,000 yen. This dish features a thick medium-rare beef fillet topped with a generous portion of foie gras and drizzled with a fragrant truffle sauce, creating a luxurious and delicious masterpiece.

I went alone during the day on a regular day. There were mostly female customers, and I was the only male that day, but it was a comfortable atmosphere even for dining alone. I ordered the duck confit as the main dish on the C course, and it was very tender and delicious! The presentation was particularly vibrant and beautiful! The weather was nice in spring, so it was also nice to eat on the terrace. The cost performance was good, and it was a very lovely restaurant!

Date of visit: 1/12/2022 Dinner Order: 6600 yen prefixed course (assorted appetizers, scrambled eggs with Hiroshima oysters, dish of French Blue Blanc Gris pork) Nagisa beer Minoh beer stout Tonight I went to Higashi-Mikuni. I visited the Altansia Bistro, which was selected as a Michelin Bib Gourmand last year for the first time. I made a reservation for 19:00. I was the only one there, so it was like a private booking. There were three course options, but I chose the middle one as I am not a gourmet. You can choose three dishes yourself. I played it safe and chose the assorted appetizers, my favorite oysters, and the pork dish. I was lucky that the special potato salad I wanted to try was included in the appetizer platter. It was quite unique, dipping the chips in the salad. The oysters were a bit disappointing. Thank you for the meal.

This was my second visit to this restaurant, and this time I came with a friend. It seems that this place was selected as a Bib Gourmand in the Michelin Guide Osaka 2022, and my taste buds were not wrong when I first tried the food here and found it incredibly delicious. This time, we ordered the "Prix Fixe" course for 6600 yen (you can choose 3 dishes from the a la carte menu). As today's specialty, we chose the "Wakayama Prefecture Chibiki Carpaccio with Caviar," "Foie Gras Poêlé," and "Roasted French Pigeon." The dessert assortment and tea sweets were also included, and everything was surprisingly delicious. We also ordered wine, soft drinks, and other dishes to enjoy, and we left completely satisfied. It was a wonderful restaurant that made me want to come back for a third visit.

I found a delicious French restaurant where you can have lunch. It is located near Higashi-Mikuni Station, along a narrow, inconspicuous alley. Since it's not very noticeable, I thought it might not be well-known yet, but about half of the seats were filled during lunchtime. I wonder where everyone finds these places, haha. The restaurant has taken proper measures against COVID-19, so it feels safe. They have only one seat at the counter for COVID-19 measures, and the rest of the customers are seated at tables. Here is what their lunch menu looks like: - Weekday Business Lunch: 1,100 yen - A Lunch (includes appetizer): 1,700 yen - B Lunch (includes dessert): 2,200 yen - C Lunch (includes both meat and fish dishes, with a drink): 3,500 yen All of the above lunch sets allow you to choose a main course from the following options: - Basil sauce Galantine of domestic young chicken thigh - Grilled pork loin marinated with salt koji and shiba-zuke sauce - Altancia special hamburger with red wine sauce - Matsukasa-yaki of sweetfish from Niigata Prefecture - Lasagna with wagyu tendon meat and more They also offer an additional four main course options for an extra 1,100 yen (details in the photo). I felt like having an appetizer, so I chose the A Lunch. The appetizer was elegant, with delicious pork and burdock rillettes on lotus root chips for a crispy texture. The combination of pork umami and burdock flavor was delightful, and the lotus root aroma spread in the mouth. There were also beet-like items, carrot rapé, and marinated shrimp, all of which were delicious. Next came the salad, cauliflower soup, and bread. The salad had a nice fragrance of fried onions, and the cauliflower soup was particularly tasty. Then, the main course was served, beautifully presented with a colorful arrangement of various grilled vegetables, warm vegetables, and fresh vegetables. The Galantine main course was made of chicken meat and minced meat wrapped and boiled, then chilled and sliced. The light and flavorful chicken meat and minced meat blend well, and the basil-scented sauce complements them nicely. The basil sauce was so delicious that I even dipped the grilled vegetables in it. French cuisine may sometimes be oily, but this cooking method was light and didn't make me feel heavy. After the meal, I relaxed with a drink I got by adding the restaurant as a LINE friend. This is a really nice place. The presentation is so good that it makes you excited to see the dishes. Even the 1,100 yen Business Lunch seems worth it with this main course. I will come back to try another dish next time. Thank you for the meal!

I stopped by a new French restaurant in the eastern three countries and had a meal. As soon as I entered the restaurant, there was a disinfectant spray available, so disinfection measures were in place. I had "Wild asparagus salad", "Assorted appetizers", "French duck leg confit", "Roasted rabbit loin wrapped in angel prawns", "Assorted cheeses", and "Assorted chocolates". Every dish was very delicious. Especially the rabbit loin and cheese were amazingly delicious, unlike anything I had tasted before. I couldn't drink wine as I came by car, so I had red grape juice and white grape juice, which were very tasty. Unfortunately, I couldn't have wine, so I bought 4 bottles of wine that were on sale for a limited time on my way home (hence, the "amount spent" is increased by about 20,000 yen). I was able to enjoy authentic French cuisine at a reasonable price. It was a wonderful restaurant, so I plan to visit again.

From exit 5 of the Midosuji Line Higashi-Mikuni Station, head west through the shopping street, turn north at the first intersection, then west into the second alley. You will find this bistro, opened in 2020 by a chef who trained in France and worked at well-known restaurants like "Hotel de Mikuni" and "Ore no French Umeda." The exterior is white-themed and the bright interior has a casual atmosphere. The kitchen is open with the chef and a hostess managing the dining area. They offer a set lunch menu with options ranging from A to C, including two main dishes, appetizers, and the choice of dessert. I opted for the "Lunch A" which includes only the main dish. I chose the fish dish, "Pan-fried red snapper from Nagasaki with ratatouille." Before the main dish, a salad and warm potato soup were served. The red snapper had crispy skin and tender meat, very delicious. This restaurant offers high-quality service and reasonably priced authentic French cuisine. A great place to enjoy a good meal.

Opened in Osaka, Higashi-Mikuni, "Hortensia Bistro" is run by owner chef Kazunami Kawabata, who has worked at Michelin-starred restaurants in France for a total of 5 and a half years and at the Hotel de Mikuni group. On weekends, both lunch and dinner menus are the same, so of course, I visited with the intention of enjoying some daytime drinking (laughs). The sparkling wine "Namimami Sparkling Wine" from Australia was refreshing and easy to drink. The appetizer platter included a pate de campagne made with neck and leg meat of "Naniwa Hoshi no Buta," which was dense and rich in flavor. The "Carrot La Pe and Beet Salad" had a refreshing flavor. The "Truffle-scented Smooth Potato Salad" had a surprising appearance with foam, but it was a new taste sensation. The roast rabbit loin stuffed with shrimp was cooked sous-vide with shrimp and mushrooms, then seared for a fragrant finish, complemented by the elegant flavors of rabbit and shrimp resonating together. A basil sauce provided a refreshing aftertaste. The Giuliana Pinot Grigio was fruity and fresh. A cheese and fruit platter was a delightful way to end the meal. The name "Hortensia" refers to hydrangeas, which were the most impressive sight Chef Kawabata saw in Brittany, France, during his time living there. The restaurant's name is lovely. With a chef who has a wide range of skills, you can also enjoy classic dishes like beef fillet and foie gras Rossini-style with Perigueux sauce.

I wanted to try a new French restaurant, so I searched for a place, called in the morning to make a lunch reservation, and visited the restaurant. I drove to the restaurant and found that there was a parking space in front with one car already parked, but they refused to let me park a second car. When I entered, the staff greeted me with a completely different name, which made me feel very uncomfortable. The table arrangement was not ideal for four people, as one person couldn't sit comfortably due to a pillar. Despite this, I tried various dishes and found the potato salad to be the standout dish! It was innovative and delicious. The other dishes didn't leave a strong impression, and the bread and menu were not served hot. The staff's service was disappointing, as I had to repeat my requests and the farewell was lacking. Overall, I think it could be a good restaurant, but there are areas for improvement. I hope they can do better in the future. Thank you for the meal.

Even as we age, my husband and I love to eat and drink a lot. We enjoy fancy French cuisine, but with the recent price increases, it has become a bit difficult for us as a budget-conscious couple. However, I still love bistros that offer delicious food at affordable prices. We visited this particular restaurant about six months ago and really liked it. This time, my wife and I went together. The system was the same, but the price had gone up to 7,700 yen including tax. I chose wild asparagus (only available this time of year) (+550 yen), lamb (+1,100 yen), and duck for my three-course meal. My wife opted for the assorted appetizers, sea bream, and beef. For drinks, we had Crémant (they didn't have the sparkling wine we ordered, so they gave us a 1,000 yen discount, making it 6,500 yen) and red wine (7,700 yen) made from a Pinot variety I had never heard of, but apparently from a famous natural winery. This wine was quite delicious. Once again, we indulged in a hearty meal and drinks, and for some reason, we still felt like we could eat more. Perhaps because the food was delicious and gentle on the stomach. The total bill came to 31,250 yen. We will definitely be going back.

Visited this restaurant for the first time with colleagues. The atmosphere is cozy and not too formal, with a small enough space to see all the seats upon entering. We ordered the course menu, which allowed us to choose various dishes tailored to our preferences, which was great! However, as it was our first visit, we had some confusion understanding the system explained by the staff. It would be helpful if the menu or instructions were more clear and easy to understand.

A family of three visited the restaurant. They ordered the 6800 yen course, which included a fixed appetizer, soup, and dessert, with the option to choose some dishes from the a la carte menu. The father chose cod milt, rabbit, and quail (+2200 yen), the mother chose pate de campagne, mackerel, and beef (+1650 yen), and the son chose salmon, rabbit, and deer (+1100 yen). The chef managed to handle the orders well, and the portions were satisfying. The drink selection was good, with options like beer, Calpis, Cremant, and red wine. The father, a bistro lover, found the restaurant to be excellent. The total bill came to 38850 yen.

I visited for a holiday lunch. I ordered the fish lunch course. The appetizer looks nice, but the taste is not great. The potato salad also has a strange taste. The main dish with salmon and vegetables is terrible. It's like just grilled salmon that is overly salty. All the vegetables are also too salty. Everything tastes the same, making it difficult to continue eating. The komatsuna (Japanese mustard spinach) is not cut properly, so it's tough to chew. I left quite a bit. With this quality, and no drink included, it costs over 2000 yen? The pricing is too high. I will not go back again.
