Today, I went to Kyobashi by train for the first time in a while. A friend of mine recently started working near Kyobashi, so we decided to have dinner together after work. I was recommended a standing yakiniku restaurant called "Gobu" by an acquaintance, so I made a quick online reservation through Tabelog since it was a Friday and I thought it might be busy. The reservation was a good idea as the restaurant was about 70% full when we arrived at 6:30 pm. We were seated at a table for two in the back, and the staff kindly brought over a place to put our belongings. We started with a drink, a draft beer, and took advantage of a promotion for a free drink by adding the restaurant on LINE. The dinner set at Gobu was amazing value for money at 1078 yen, including negi salted tongue, kalbi, harami, and tetchan (2 slices of each meat), kimchi, soup, and a choice of rice size (large, medium, small). The tongue, made from black pork, was light and delicious when wrapped in green onions and myoga. The kalbi was fatty and flavorful, while the harami had a good balance of lean meat and fat. I was a bit hesitant about the tetchan, but after grilling it, dipping it in sauce, and trying it, I found it surprisingly delicious. The meal was perfect, especially when paired with rice and kimchi. The soup was peppery and flavorful, and we enjoyed a relaxing meal. The staff were friendly and provided great service throughout, even offering complimentary coffee or tea at the end of the meal. The bill was settled at the table, and the staff kindly brought individual receipts for each of us. The total was rounded down by 8 yen, showing the restaurant's kindness once again. We were even given candies as a parting gift on our way out. The staff were energetic, smiling, and provided excellent service. The cost, taste, and service were all top-notch, making me decide to definitely come back again. I was truly impressed by the experience. As we walked back, we spontaneously started singing, expressing our joy and gratitude for the wonderful meal at Gobu.
