I had lunch at a traditional coffee shop located a short walk from Hakata Station Chikushi Exit. The interior was spacious and had a calm atmosphere, with many people taking their lunch break from work. There were ashtrays on the tables for smoking, but the ventilation was good so it wasn't bothersome. They also serve breakfast, but the lunch set was a good deal. For 580 yen, you get to choose from a sandwich, pizza toast, butter toast, or hot sandwich, along with coffee. I saw another customer order the hot sandwich, which looked delicious, so I decided to get the cheese and tomato hot sandwich with a blend coffee. The hot sandwich was quite filling, with a crispy surface and crunchy edges, and the cheese with black pepper paired well with the fresh tomato acidity. The coffee came with whipped cream, but I found the black coffee so tasty that I ended up drinking most of it without adding the cream. I only added a little milk at the end to make it milder. The cozy atmosphere, authentic coffee, and delicious lunch left me very satisfied. I highly recommend this place.

I was tired from walking so I took a break at this newly opened cafe. The atmosphere inside is nice (with classical music playing) and it's very relaxing. However, it may not be suitable for non-smokers as the smell of cigarettes is strong. The iced coffee was delicious. I think this cafe is recommended for smokers.

One of the shops I was interested in. I knew it was smoking allowed, but it wasn't overwhelmingly smoky. Quite a few customers were smoking while enjoying coffee. It's a Showa era atmosphere. During lunchtime, they offer a light meal set of pizza toast or hot sandwich with a drink for 600 yen. This time, I had iced coffee and pizza toast. I saw a few foreign tourists as well. Most of the customers were office workers enjoying a light meal, coffee, and cigarettes. The pizza toast had thick bread with bacon and tomato on top. Be careful not to get pizza sauce on the tip of your nose when you take a bite. I like this simple and delicious pizza toast. It's a bit strong, but it goes well with the refreshing aftertaste of the iced coffee. It's nice to have such a quiet place right next to Chikushi-guchi.

Individual coffee shops are great♪ Found a nice shop a short walk from JR Hakata Station, Chikushi Exit♪ "Kissaten Tsurubami" serves "Mocha Matar" and "Toaruko Toraja" with whipped cream on top at no extra charge, along with "Vienna Coffee." And you can choose your favorite coffee, which is wonderful (^-^)。。。#HakataGourmet

After eating, I felt like having coffee, so I visited this place because I was curious about their rum raisin cake. The atmosphere was calm with jazz music playing. I sat at the counter and ordered the rum raisin cake and a coffee made with Burundi beans (a region I had never heard of before). It was served in about 5-6 minutes. The coffee came with a generous amount of cream on top. The rum raisin cake tasted just as good as I had imagined. The Burundi coffee had a refreshing taste with very little acidity or bitterness, making it suitable even for those who don't like coffee. I enjoyed it. Thank you for the meal.

I had some free time on the Chikushi side of Hakata Station, so I decided to check out a cafe that had caught my eye. I ordered a set of rum raisin cake and coffee. It's a rare cafe in Hakata, with a calming interior. The owner has a nice vibe too. Since it was a Sunday after 4 p.m., there was only one woman quietly enjoying her coffee, making it a very peaceful atmosphere. However, as soon as I entered the shop, I could smell cigarette smoke, and there were ashtrays on the tables. It made me hesitant to stay because if there were customers smoking, the shop might become filled with cigarette smoke. The coffee was delicious, but I am a bit hesitant about using the cafe because of this.

Today I am waiting for printing at Kinko's and killing time here. Smoking cafes are quite convenient these days, with everyone enjoying their cigarettes. I used to be called a chimney, but I quit smoking 7 years ago. I'm fine now. Thank you for the delicious coffee. *cough* *cough*...

I arrived at a place to relax after eating, relying on past memories. Sometimes wandering can be useful. I ordered a coffee to pass the time until my meeting. The coffee in a small cup was full to the brim and steaming hot, refreshing me a little. It had a clean taste, easy to drink and delicious. I relaxed for a while in the quiet music and cozy atmosphere of the shop, checking the arrangements for my next task. The shop has a calm and pleasant atmosphere, perhaps because it is a little away from the station. If I didn't have any plans, I could have relaxed even more.

If you're tired of chain cafes, I highly recommend visiting this cafe. It feels like an oasis in the city, with soothing jazz music playing in the background. The clientele mostly consists of older businessmen, likely due to its location in the business district near Hakata Station. However, there are also some younger men, possibly from the nearby computer shops. Overall, it's a great cafe for business meetings and discussions.

I've been curious about this cafe for years as I pass by it. First, I couldn't read the name of the cafe. When I asked the staff, they told me it's pronounced "tsurubami" using the character "橡". When I looked it up later, I found out that "tsurubami" means "the color of acorns, dyed with the juice of crushed oak acorns or bark". It really suits the atmosphere of this cafe. I entered around 11:30 and there was a couple sitting at the table in the back. The interior of the cafe gives off a calm vibe reminiscent of Showa-era cafes, which is nice. Looking at the menu, I noticed that the lunch set is only 550 yen. You can choose from sandwich, visa toast, butter toast, or hot sandwich, and there are four types of coffee to choose from. I chose the egg hot sandwich with a blend coffee. The sandwich was filled with eggs and ham, and even the crust of the bread was included. It was quite filling and delicious, with the bread toasted perfectly. The coffee, with a little whipped cream on top, tasted great as well. All of this for 550 yen is a really good deal in my opinion. By the time it was past 12, the cafe was full and some customers were turned away. It's a good cafe, but maybe the lack of word-of-mouth is because it feels a bit intimidating to enter. There's also a good Komeda Coffee shop nearby, but I recommend trying this one out as well.

I visited this shop near the station to take a break after feeling a bit under the weather during my business trip in Fukuoka. The atmosphere is a blend of antique and folk art, creating a comforting mood. Despite its stylish appearance, there is a down-to-earth vibe that seems unique to Hakata. I ordered an iced coffee. The place is cozy, but the tables are spaced far apart and the chairs and table legs are thin, making it feel like a space where you eat and then leave. I wondered what "tsurubami" meant and found out it's like a tree that produces acorns. The interior of the shop had a color similar to acorns.

I like this place because I can get cheap coffee, smoke, and have a quiet lunch without it being too crowded. I prefer the quiet atmosphere of the restaurant the most, so I don't go there too often.

During a busy day of work near Hakata Station, I had some spare time in the morning and decided to stop by a coffee shop called "Tsugubami Coffee House." I wasn't sure how to pronounce it, but it turns out it's pronounced "Tsugubami." It's a classic coffee shop that still retains a Showa era vibe. It allows smoking, so you have to tolerate the smoke. For breakfast, they offer toast for 400 yen and a sandwich for 450 yen. I opted for the sandwich, which turned out to be a hot sandwich filled with ham and egg. It was packed with ingredients all the way to the crust, which I appreciated. They also serve drip coffee. Despite the hustle and bustle of the morning, I couldn't relax too much, but it was a nice treat. I'll do my best at work.

It's morning. I used to only drink coffee in the morning, but recently I started eating breakfast occasionally. So, on this day, I visited "Tsurubami Coffee-kan" located about a 2-3 minute walk from Hakata Station East. I saw that they also serve breakfast when I passed by the shop at lunchtime the other day, so I decided to try it out. Honestly, I couldn't read the kanji "橡" as "Tsurubami"... But I decided to go anyway, even though I couldn't find out what time they open by checking on Tabelog. So, I arrived at the shop at 7:50 in the morning on this day. The "Morning Menu" signboard was already displayed outside. I peeked through the window and saw that they were getting ready to open. I opened the door and asked the master if they were open yet, and he said, "It's okay," so I entered the shop. I was the first customer of the day! I sat at the counter and ordered the "Hot Sandwich (Coffee Set)." The morning menu has two options: - Hot Sandwich for 450 yen - Toast for 400 yen They also had newspapers available, so I decided to read the Nikkei newspaper. They had Nikkei, Asahi, and Nikkan Sports newspapers. There were also several weekly magazines available. The BGM at this time was classical music (orchestra). It felt like a morning at a hotel. After about 10 minutes, the hot sandwich was served first. It was a ham and egg salad sandwich, with chopped boiled eggs mixed with mayonnaise. The bread was light and fluffy, making it easy to eat. The coffee was served shortly after, in the shop's original cup with "Tsurubami" written on it. The cup wasn't very big, but it was filled up to about 90% of the cup's height. In my opinion, this place near Hakata Station is currently the best for breakfast, considering the overall experience. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal~~~.

After eating near Hakata Station, I asked my friend if there was a place where we could have some delicious coffee, and they took me to this place (laughs). I couldn't read the name of the shop, so I pronounced "橡" as "tsurubami," which is not correct, right (laughs)? When I asked the staff, they said it's a color like an acorn, called "tsurubami-iro," and the interior of the shop is color-coordinated in that color. Well, the coffee was delicious, so I'm glad I went there (laughs). The interior of the shop was just like a normal cafe. Since it was hot yesterday, I had an iced coffee, and it was delicious, so I'm thinking of stopping by again after eating at a nearby Taiwanese restaurant.
