The restaurant is located at 4-24-6 Sugamo, Toshima-ku, Tokyo in the Fuji Building. The nearest stations are Koshinzuka Station or Sugamo Station on the Toei Arakawa Line (Sakura Tram). I arrived at 11:15 am on Saturday based on the recommendation from MyRebi's review. The restaurant was already full, with two women and one man waiting in line, and four people waiting in the waiting area. I realized I was lining up incorrectly and was directed by the lady at the neighboring butcher shop to line up on the opposite side. The customers were mostly in their 30s to 50s, but there were also children and couples. It was a one-in, one-out system. I purchased the tickets for "Salt Ramen for 880 yen" and "Ebisu Beer for 550 yen" and waited in the waiting area inside the restaurant. I noticed four people waiting after me. The restaurant only had L-shaped counter seats. There was only one staff member, the owner, working. The radio was playing inside the restaurant. At 11:50 am, I was seated at the counter and handed over my ticket. At 11:52 am, the beer and appetizers (char siu and menma) were served. The char siu and menma went well with the beer. At 11:58 am, the ramen was served. The noodles were hand-made and had a chewy texture. The soup was salt-based with a slightly buttery taste. The char siu had a firm texture and a delicious flavor. The toppings included komatsuna, menma, naruto, chopped green onions, and seaweed. When I left the restaurant, there were seven people waiting outside. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I had been curious about "Sunada" for a while. I happened to come across information about this restaurant on the TikTok channel "Solo Gourmet!" and remembered it, so I visited the restaurant right away. I arrived at the restaurant on Monday at 11:32 AM as a party of one. There were two customers already there. I purchased the "Special Wonton Noodles for 1500 yen" at the ticket machine. After an 8-minute wait, a beautifully presented bowl of ramen arrived, filled to the brim. I took a sip of the soup. To put it bluntly, it tasted like a delicious version of a simple Tokyo soy sauce ramen. The noodles were slightly flat, medium-thick curly noodles, which were delicious. The toppings included 3 sheets of seaweed, 4-5 wontons (quite large), a flat noodle similar to "ittan-men," narutomaki, komatsuna (Japanese mustard spinach), menma (bamboo shoots), 3 slices of chashu (pork thigh, pork shoulder, chicken thigh), seasoned egg, green onions, and a block of chashu. The chashu had a soy sauce seasoning that felt slightly aged, almost like cheese. It had a luxurious and delicious taste. Among the hearty toppings, the komatsuna served as a nice accent. Overall, the flavor was simple but the completion of the taste was pushed to the extreme. I finished every drop of the soup without even thinking about using any table condiments (maybe just a bit of ichimi and pepper). It was so delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I had the special wonton noodles. The soup was delicious but a bit salty. It's soy sauce flavor, so I thought it was understandable. The wontons were really delicious. The special dish comes with three types of char siu: pork thigh, pork loin, and chicken thigh, all grilled over charcoal. The most impressive was the fragrant meat. Next time I go, I want to try the char siu rice. I especially like the pork loin and chicken thigh.

I had wonton noodles. The appearance of the noodles (thinness and texture) was to my liking so I had high expectations. However, the taste of the noodles was not to my liking. I'm not sure, but the taste of the noodles? Flavor? was not quite right for me. Maybe it has something to do with the presence of kansui. It was my first time trying noodles with this taste. The bamboo shoots were delicious. I thought the wontons were too light, but maybe that's just how they are. I usually don't like greasy food, so I should be happy with something light, but...

It's about a 10-minute walk from Sugamo Station. I arrived just before 6:05 pm on a weekend and got a prime seat. The special cold Chinese noodles come with a sesame-based slightly tangy sauce, perfect for hot days. The side dishes include four types of chashu, komatsuna, menma, and flavored egg. The "naruto" topping was especially delicious. The hanging chashu was also very tasty. Special handmade cold Chinese noodles with chashu, rice, and beer.

After a long time, I hosted a training session on a holiday. It was the final day, so we went offsite. We visited a longstanding shop that has been a challenge for a long time. It was lunchtime, but there were only 3 people waiting. I ordered the special wonton noodles from the ticket machine. After a short wait, we sat at the counter. The owner was busy cooking right in front of us. He worked efficiently. After about 5 minutes, the noodles were served. The soup was a clear white. I took a sip and thought it would be sharp, but it was faithful to the traditional taste of Shirakawa. The broth was just right, not too strong or weak, with just the right amount of oil. Next, I tried the noodles. They were firm and had the characteristic Shirakawa texture with low water content. The chashu was delicious, with a crispy and good quality texture. The wonton was smooth, and the menma had a nice flavor. The crunchy vegetables added a refreshing touch. This bowl was a polished version of the classic Shirakawa, fitting in perfectly with the atmosphere of the Sugamo neighborhood. Thank you for the meal.

I arrived at the restaurant right after it opened at 6:00 PM. I ordered the special pork back fat and dried fish ramen (1400 yen) with extra back fat (50 yen). The soup was very tasty and easy to drink, even with the extra back fat. The three types of char siu, especially the chicken, had a nice smoky flavor from the charcoal. The dried seaweed served on a separate plate was also very good. Thank you for the meal.

The restaurant opens at 9 am. I arrived at 10:30 am on a Saturday to avoid waiting in line and was able to enter immediately. I bought a ticket for the wonton noodles and sat at the counter. It was enjoyable to watch the person preparing the food with great care. However, the presentation was so meticulous that I was a bit worried the noodles might stick together. The soup looks light but it actually has quite a bit of oil in it. The wontons were thin and delicious. It cost 1200 yen, which is not cheap, but it was a satisfying meal. The nearby parking lot charges 400 yen for 20 minutes. The shopping street in Sugamo was affordable, but the parking fee ended up being higher than what I spent on shopping.

First morning ramen! First time at Sunda-san! First time forgetting to add... (boiled egg) (T_T) Sunda-san went a couple of times from the opening, but the line was moderate, so I thought it might be okay this time. Apparently they serve morning ramen now, and if the timing is right, you can eat without waiting in line! So I decided to skip breakfast and go! It's a shop that I entered after the shop that was run by someone from Tsuta in Sugamo. That place was really delicious too, but why did they quit? Maybe complaints about the line? Anyway, now there's still a line... I don't understand. Well, that's a story from the past, so forget about it. I arrived at 9:30 on Sunday morning. There were 5 out of 7 seats filled at the counter. I ordered the special wonton noodles for 1500 yen from the ticket machine! While I was there, there were only 3 more customers, so you can get in without waiting around lunchtime! I love the pork backfat dried fish flavor the most, so I really wanted to try it since Sunda-san started serving it, but since it was my first time, I went with the basic version! Special wonton noodles! 1500 yen! Well, I'm not surprised at the price anymore! (The price, you know!) Everything is going up in price, but... things will be eliminated, right... because it costs this much for ingredients, so this is the price we charge! Customers: Yeah, if you keep this taste, we'll support you! To a certain extent, it's delicious, but at this price, I might not be able to come... There are other delicious things at the same price, so I might go there instead, you know? I think every industry is going through a transition period now. But shops that are doing things their way... later on... Oh, I'm sorry!!!!! Sunda-san is different, okay!!!! I'm sorry! I got off track, but the ramen! It has a beautiful visual, and skipping breakfast paid off. I thought it would be a soft type of soup based on chicken broth, but the first bite brought out a strong soy sauce flavor, a sharp soup... really delicious, but... it's soy sauce... I didn't expect that... If I had known from the beginning... it would have been better... The soy sauce flavor is too strong... It's good in a way, that sharpness of soy sauce! But... that's not it... I'm looking for umami, not the sharpness of soy sauce... There are times when I want that too, but this time it wasn't what I wanted... Next time, I'll try the salt flavor (after the pork backfat dried fish ramen...) I wrote too much unnecessary stuff, so I'll just say it! Noodles: Hand-kneaded high-water content curly noodles (Well, there may be preferences, but they are undeniably delicious!) Menma: Thin crunchy type! Pork chashu: There were two types, but they were thin, and honestly, they could do without... (It's delicious, but not worth mentioning) There are also small pieces of prok chashu. (There are few, but it's an extra!) Naruto... cute ❤ Keeping the old ramen image is much appreciated! Komatsuna. It has a crunchy texture and a strong vegetable taste. Chicken chashu. It has a smoky aroma and is soft and delicious! Wonton skin! (One piece) It's delicious even if it's half noodles and half wonton skin! (It's really delicious!) Wonton: Both the skin and the meat are really delicious! I want to eat the wonton here! Soup: As mentioned earlier, the soy sauce sharpness is pronounced in this delicious soup, but maybe it's just a one-time thing... It was different from what I imagined, but it was really delicious! I look forward to the pork backfat dried fish ramen next time! Thank you for the meal. After leaving the shop, I thought... Does the special come with a boiled egg? I later found out that it does... Well... it happens sometimes... (;_;) Master! Please give me an extra next time!

On Saturday, I got off at Sugamo Station and walked through the Jizo-dori shopping street, passed the To-ge-nuki Jizo, and arrived at the station in just over 10 minutes. It was around 9 o'clock, the opening time, when I arrived. The restaurant had 6 counter seats and there was already one customer ahead of me. After purchasing my meal ticket, I waited for just under 10 minutes before my meal was served. It was a bit filling and quite delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the restaurant on a regular weekday at noon. There was no wait, and I was seated immediately at the counter where there was one available seat. I ordered the special Wonton Ramen for 1500 yen. The chicken-based soup had a strong flavor, and the noodles were thick, flat, and curly. In addition to the wontons, the ramen also had two types of char siu (chicken and pork), seasoned egg, bamboo shoots, spinach, seaweed, and naruto. The char siu was not braised but rather grilled, with the chicken char siu having a particularly rich flavor that I enjoyed. The ramen was meticulously prepared by the chef who was mostly working alone. It was a delicious meal, thank you.

It's been a while since my last food blog post. I had some business in Sugamo, so I searched for a ramen shop nearby and found Sanda, one of the top 100 ramen shops! It was about a 10-minute walk from Sugamo Station, a bit off the main street, and the shop had a stylish and calm atmosphere. I arrived on a Saturday night around 7 pm, and there were two customers ahead of me, but I was seated within 5 minutes. The owner was running the place alone, handling cooking and serving, and it seemed quite busy, but later on, what seemed to be his wife came to help out. I chose the highly recommended Wonton Noodles. Wonton Noodles (1200 yen): The Wonton Noodles displayed on the counter were like a work of art, with two types of char siu, plenty of menma, naruto, nori, green vegetables, all beautifully arranged. It looked delicious! - Soup: The soup, made with famous chicken carefully brewed with soy sauce, was elegantly light in flavor with no sharp edges, allowing you to savor it endlessly. It slowly permeated through the body. - Flat noodles: The flat noodles had a chewy part and a soft, fluffy part, allowing you to enjoy the delicious soup together. The wheat aroma of the noodles and the gentle soup had the perfect balance! - Wonton: The thin and soft wonton melted in your mouth. The filling, based on chicken meat, had a gentle flavor centered on the broth, with hardly any spices, but combined with the softness of the wonton skin and the soup, it became an exquisite wonton. Delicious! The soup, flat noodles, wonton, char siu, all the ingredients were very well balanced and it was a very delicious ramen. Thank you for the meal!

Cold plum salted minced meat soba - ¥1,200 Delicious. Among cold dishes, this is top-notch. The soup has a strong dashi flavor with a nice acidity that complements the coldness for a refreshing taste. The chewy hand-kneaded noodles are a perfect match. After finishing the noodles, you can request a chicken soup to mix with the remaining soup. The warm soup with a rich chicken flavor helps you relax. Although I tried a limited edition dish on my first visit, I definitely want to try their regular menu items as well.

During the usual daytime with no wait, I saw a limited edition cold plum salted minced meat soba shining in the menu. Despite the usual rule of choosing the top left item, the extreme heat today made me choose the limited edition without hesitation. The soup was refreshing with a delightful acidity and saltiness, perfect for my sweaty body. The noodles were homemade and had a satisfying chewy texture, yet a smooth throat feel. The flavor of the minced meat soboro that followed was amazing. I am now confident that the classics here are delicious, and I will definitely revisit when the heat subsides.

I ordered the "Chuka Soba" for 1,000 yen. The soup was full of chicken umami and had a perfect balance with soy sauce. The thick curly noodles had a chewy texture that paired excellently with the soup. The char siu was moist and tender, very delicious! It felt like a refined version of Shirakawa ramen, and it might be my favorite ramen I've ever had. Thank you for the meal!

Arrived at 11:30 on Saturday. I was planning to go to a nearby ramen shop after researching, but there was only one customer ahead of me so I was able to enter smoothly. It's a small shop with only 6 counter seats, and it seems like the owner is running it alone. The noodles were soft and not slippery on the surface. I have tried many authentic Shirakawa ramen, but I prefer noodles with a bit more firmness and chewiness. The soup also lacked a refreshing taste. Well, ramen is a food that varies greatly depending on personal preferences. Just for reference.

I've always wanted to eat here, but the restaurant's closing time always coincided with my business trips, and I couldn't eat here for years. However, today I found out that they are open for dinner near where I'm staying. I skipped lunch and headed straight to Sanda-san 15 minutes before opening. I was excited and eagerly waited under the hot sun. Finally, I entered the restaurant for the first time. I purchased the special Chinese soba from the ticket machine. It came with thick noodles, 3 types of chashu, seasoned egg, green vegetables, menma, narutomaki, and seaweed, priced at 1300 yen. The chef is a true artisan, and his dedication and love for ramen are evident in his meticulous preparation. The Chinese soba was beautifully presented, and just by looking at it, I knew it would be delicious. The broth is made from Nagoya Cochin chicken and other famous chicken brands, without any chemical seasonings. The first sip of the broth was heavenly. The noodles were hand-kneaded, aged, and then cooked to perfection. The thin, curly noodles were incredibly delicious and unique. The chashu, made from different parts of pork and chicken, was carefully grilled over charcoal. The seasoned egg, menma, green vegetables, and seaweed were also exceptionally tasty. Overall, Sanda-san's Chinese soba was perfect in every way. I'm so glad I got to eat here. Thank you for the delicious meal, chef! 🍜❣️

I wandered around Itabashi Ward due to work, and luckily arrived at the restaurant just as it was opening in the early morning. Since it was a weekday, there was no line. I ordered the Wonton Men for 1200 yen, which looked delicious. The noodles were thin and chewy, and the wontons were smooth and tasty. The char siu was also satisfying with two slices. However, the limited menu options may be a downside.

"Mensouan Sunada" visited for the second time in two years. Leaving the house at 9 o'clock, the strong sunlight from the morning is melting hot, but I took a morning walk in Sugamo and Genkoku Jizo Street. Walking from the entrance of the shopping street to Koshinzuka, turning back and passing by "Mensouan Sunada", the line has not formed yet... It's only 10:30... Tempted by the delicious smell of ramen, I decided to enter! They are open from 9 in the morning. It's a luxury to be able to eat morning ramen at Sunada-san! When I entered the store, all 6 seats were full and no line. I bought a meal ticket and waited inside for about 10 minutes. Next to the meal ticket machine, there were chilled water, aprons, and hair ties for women available. The meticulous consideration shows the kindness of the store manager. [Order] Special Wonton Noodles ¥1500. I sat down and soon the noodles arrived! Sunada-san's wonton noodles after two years! Excited by the beautiful presentation, I took a sip of the soup. The clear soup is made by simmering Nagoya Cochin and Hakata Jidori chicken bones with pork bones for 12 hours, and then letting it sit for another day to create a deep soup. Amazing. The hand-made homemade curly noodles are also aged overnight. They go well with the clear soup! Toppings include two types of chashu, 3 wontons, a boiled egg, menma, greens, naruto, and seaweed. The extremely thin wontons have a filling of chicken thigh meat, giving a gentle flavor. I was impressed by the sight of them operating alone in the morning, and the unchanged deliciousness and high quality. Thank you for the meal!

Arrived around 9:30 on Saturday and didn't have to wait in line. I chose the Wan Tan Men on my first visit, but this time I finally tried the Back Fat and Dried Fish Ramen that I had been curious about. I added extra onions for 50 yen, making it a total of 1,150 yen including tax. The ramen was served in about 5 minutes. The aroma of the back fat in the soup was surprisingly good. The bitterness of the dried fish added a nice depth to the flavor, while the saltiness was mild, creating an overall gentle impression. The rich umami of the back fat, dried fish, and soy sauce combined to give a fantastic satisfaction. The medium-thick straight noodles were delicious. The chashu was exquisite in taste and aroma. I decided that next time I visit Sata-san, I will definitely go for the special with more toppings. The onions paired perfectly with the soup, although I think there was already a decent amount in the default serving (adding extra made it quite a lot ^_^). At 1,100 yen for the default option, it may seem a bit pricey, but considering the high quality of the soup, toppings, and noodles, I actually found it to be good value for money. Just like my previous visit, I could sense the sincerity of the chef in every aspect of the dish, making it a truly wonderful bowl of ramen.

Visited in August 2023 on a sunny Saturday at 10:50. This place is only open during the summer season and starts serving at 9:00. Upon arrival, there was already one customer. I ordered the Wonton Noodles for 1,200 yen and a bottle of beer for 600 yen with some snacks included. Overall, I was impressed by the well-rounded experience. The noodles, chashu, and wontons were all excellent with no flaws. However, I felt like something was missing.
