On January 31, 2016, I had breakfast at this hotel. It is conveniently located right in front of Tsutenkaku Tower. I stayed in a non-smoking twin room on a Saturday night, which cost 9,504 yen for one night. I forgot my membership card, so I didn't get the 5% discount that I should have received. I have stayed at various Toyoko Inns before, in places like Asakusa in Tokyo, Mishima in Shizuoka, Wakayama, Miebashi in Okinawa, Shijo-Karasuma in Kyoto, and Shijo-Omiya in Kyoto, and I have always enjoyed their complimentary breakfast services. However, this time the breakfast was disappointing. It consisted of meatballs, simmered hijiki seaweed, cabbage, scrambled eggs, rice, miso soup, coffee, and orange juice. The orange juice ran out by 8:15 am and they refused to refill it. Overall, the breakfast was not delicious. The meatballs tasted like they were made from frozen food. The location is great, but since I stayed in Osaka, I was hoping for something more Osaka-like, such as takoyaki. I hope they make more effort to improve their breakfast offerings.
