Chokkakiya @ Namba Had a long-awaited reunion with my classmates and juniors from Namba student days for a drinking party after a long time. I was worried about going in alone, but they had counter seats so it was not a problem. I ordered the O-Banzai Jusansen Matsus for 2,750 yen (tax included), which came with many small dishes. Each dish was carefully arranged and visually pleasing. I thought my mother would be happy if I brought her here. The staff who guided me was very friendly. It was a bit disappointing that the chef's small talk was the background music. It seemed like they didn't realize customers could hear their conversations.

I visited Marui no Ura for the first time, it's a very easy-to-find place so you can go without getting lost. We were guided to the third floor. There are sunken kotatsu tables where you can relax and eat. For lunch, we indulged a bit with a 1500 yen set meal. It included salad, sashimi, tempura, and 2 shrimp tempura! We could enjoy different flavors with tempura dipping sauce, lemon, and matcha salt. I think even foreigners would enjoy it.

I came to Osaka on April 1st, 2023 for a one night, two day trip. I enjoyed sightseeing at Osaka Castle and then headed to Namba near Midosuji. I saw the Glico sign before dinner, which was a banquet with a course menu. We started with shabu-shabu and sashimi, and enjoyed all-you-can-drink service. After a cold beer, we switched to white wine with two decanters. The meal ended with sea bream rice and red miso soup, and we also enjoyed some delicious sherbet. I used to use this restaurant often and also used it for banquets when I was the organizer. I had curry the day before yesterday as well. It had a slightly Japanese feel to it at first glance ^_^ but was quite spicy and the vegetable tempura was delicious. The burdock flakes on top matched the curry perfectly. However, the rice was a bit soft, with a few clumps that seemed like the rice had been crushed. It was disappointing because the curry was delicious. The set meal that day was good, with the sashimi being delicious, but the rest was just average.

Last time I wanted to try the weekday lunch menu at a restaurant I had been eyeing, and I finally made it during lunchtime on a weekday. The atmosphere was bustling with customers, and I loved the ambiance of the place from the outside to the entrance. I took off my shoes at the shoe rack, told the staff my reservation name, and entered the restaurant. This time, I will share photos of two lunch visits. The first time, I sat at the counter in the back of the first floor and had the "One Soup, Four Side Dishes Set" for ¥980. The second time, I sat at the counter on the second floor and had the "Sashimi and Rolled Omelette Set" for ¥900. Personally, I found the second-floor seat more relaxing for dining, so I recommend the second floor. It might be okay to visit during non-peak lunch hours, but it can get quite crowded during peak times, so making a reservation before visiting is recommended. I enjoyed both lunches, but I particularly love "rolled omelette," so if you like eggs, I highly recommend the "Sashimi and Rolled Omelette Set." It was delicious! Thank you for the meal!

It had been a while since I had dinner with an acquaintance. It was our first time at this restaurant, so I was more excited about the reunion than the food, but when I saw the menu, my expectations rose. Even the appetizer, called shichirin-yaki, was promising. I usually can't find good sashimi in Osaka, but this time it exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend the sea bream rice cooked in a pot. We sat at the counter on the first floor, which was strangely calming with its sunken hearth style. There's also a bar-like counter seat on the second floor, which has a nice atmosphere. I went to the private room Japanese restaurant Chou Chouya Namba store in Namba, near Hozenji Yokocho. It is located on the cafe street next to Marui. You take off your shoes at the entrance. The 1st and 2nd floors have a counter, and the 3rd floor seems to have private rooms. Here is the menu. It seems a bit expensive... I ordered the daily set meal with one soup and four side dishes for 880 yen. It's surprisingly cheap. ^^; The seasoning was elegant, and the rolled omelette was especially delicious. With a variety of dishes, even if you have a small portion of rice, you'll feel satisfied. There were a few customers on the second floor, but I was guided to the counter seat on the first floor, where I was the only one. I took off my shoes and placed them in the shoe box before being shown to my seat at the counter, where I chose to sit at the farthest seat. I ordered the "Salmon Roe and Sea Urchin Soy Sauce Bowl" for ¥980, which caught my eye, although I was mainly interested in its appearance. It comes with miso soup and one side dish. After a while, the bowl was placed in front of me across the counter. The visual presentation was good. As for the taste, it was simply delicious. This post is about the Japanese restaurant "Satsukuya Namba Store" located in Namba, Osaka! I tried the menu which consisted of dashimaki tamago and sashimi combined in a weekday limited set meal. The dashimaki tamago came in 6 pieces, each bite-sized and filled with a juicy dashi flavor. The softness of the egg and the gentle taste of the dashi were delightful. The sashimi included 3 types of fish like salmon and sea bream, with 2 slices each, and they were fresh and delicious. The meal also came with unlimited rice and miso soup, all for only ¥800. It's a great deal for the quality and quantity of food you get. The restaurant is open on Saturdays and Sundays as well, which is convenient. Just be aware that the menu I tried is only available on weekdays. It was a tasty meal, thank you! *Note: Be cautious as the service from the staff may vary depending on the day.

In a retro interior, there is a shop where you can enjoy reasonably priced obanzai dishes. Those with reservations are seated at semi-private table seats. Since I did not make a reservation, I was guided to the counter. It felt a bit cramped, and I regret not making a reservation. I ordered the bamboo obanzai for ¥1980, and the portion size and taste were just right.

I used it for a drinking party (^｡^) When I visited on a weekday evening without a reservation, I had to wait for a while. The restaurant is bustling! It has three floors and a total of about 70 seats. I used the counter on the second floor. The restaurant has a calm atmosphere with a machiya-style interior. There are many types of Japanese sake, and I ended up drinking too much (lol). The food was delicious too. There was a young female manager at the counter who took care of us. Despite being young, she was very capable! It was a user-friendly restaurant (^-^)

I have been going to this restaurant for lunch for years and the delicious food has never changed. Whenever I go with friends who have never been there before, they always say "Oh, so there was a place like this! It was delicious ^^". Local New Year's party at Sososo-ya was great! We had a spacious private room where we could relax. The variety of dishes was impressive, and the abalone was delicious with a thick cut!
