I revisited a nice restaurant with an old Japanese house atmosphere. I had the popular Chicken Nanban last time and it was delicious, so this time I tried the simmered hamburger. The set came with side dishes like miso soup and salad, but I only wanted the hamburger and rice. The hamburger was flavorful with the simmered taste, although I wish the potatoes weren't completely soaked in the sauce. Many people ordered dessert, but I prefer just having the main meal.

I visited during the day on a weekday and the place was quite busy. It's popular, isn't it? I had the fish in a sweet and sour sauce set meal for 1,100 yen. It seems you can get one free refill of rice. The two small side dishes were appreciated. There was a good variety of side dishes and the salad was quite substantial, so it was very satisfying. It felt like a lot of food, so I shared some with my family. The desserts looked tempting, but after the meal, I was full so I thought I would just come back for tea.

I have been to Kamakura-san many times, but I haven't written a review before (^_^;) I usually order the teppanyaki set meal, but this time I tried the hamburger steak rice set. I chose the original sauce. The set includes two side dishes, soup, and salad, which makes me happy! The hamburger steak was very tender and juicy. It had been a while since I last had it, but it was still delicious as always. The warabi mochi here is also reasonably priced and tasty. This time, I took it to go and ate it at home. I would like to use this place again. It is a very welcoming place with excellent taste.

The interior of the shop is stylish with a traditional Japanese house vibe. Personally, I think the staff is very attentive, constantly refilling your cold tea. In Fukushige, in the Nishi district, there is a place called "Machiya Cafe Kamakura" where you can also have lunch. This time, I tried their sweet treats: a platter of 3 types of warabi mochi for 880 yen. Each piece was big, and I was comfortably full after eating them. I also had their Kamakura Zenzai for 650 yen, which is perfect for the cold weather. I love zenzai so much that I didn't hesitate to order it. It was delicious! I definitely want to go back to have zenzai again. Thank you for the meal!

I tried the most popular dish, Chicken Nanban, and it was satisfying with a generous portion including salad. However, the operation was a bit disappointing. During a car inspection, I usually have lunch in Maehara direction in Fukue every six months, but today I avoided the traffic jams during Golden Week and had lunch in Fukue. I was attracted by the image of Machiya Cafe and visited for the first time. There is a wide variety of lunch options and my expectations were high. I had the sizzling teppanyaki set, which was recommended, and the presentation was good. The teppanyaki was average (the shrimp fry was impressive), and the side dishes and miso soup were too salty for elderly people. The dessert for my companion was also just average. I had a similar experience before at a cafe in Itoshima, so be cautious when visiting Machiya Cafe (laughs). Lastly, I was comforted by the cuteness of the ashtray at the entrance.

I quit hanami and went on a lunch date with my husband ❤️ Even though the map said the restaurant was closed, we called and they had availability. We enjoyed matching loco moco and happily headed home. On the way back, we stopped at Mini Stop for dessert, committing a little act of betrayal... 😅

Hello! Hello! On holidays, my family often goes out for lunch together, and one of the places we frequent is "Machiyake Cafe Kamakura." It's a popular restaurant located in a traditional Japanese-style house in the middle of rice fields. Usually, we have to wait around 15-20 minutes during the lunch rush on weekends. I usually don't order set meals, and instead, we go for some appetizers and a cold beer. The beer they serve is from the Netherlands, with a fragrant aroma, although I really want to have a Japanese beer. (Having beer from lunchtime on holidays, trying not to attract too much attention from families around us...) And the dish we always order is the "motsunabe," a hot pot dish made with offal. The offal here is really tender and delicious, especially with the salty sauce that gives it a refreshing taste. I highly recommend trying the motsunabe at "Kamakura"!

I always passed by this place, so this time I decided to visit! I felt reassured by their COVID-19 measures. The staff seemed busy, so I would like to come back when it's less crowded and take my time.

I could imagine it was a cafe, but I felt a bit out of place as a man alone since there were many young women and mothers with small children. The menu was surprisingly diverse, with set meals, udon, soba, hamburgers, and even desserts. They also offer takeout, making it a modern restaurant despite its appearance.

The menu is extensive and I had a hard time deciding (lol). I ordered the Chicken Nanban set meal, which was delicious and filling. On my way out, I also got some warabi mochi with black honey for takeout. The warabi mochi was satisfyingly chewy and I left feeling very satisfied!

I only used it for dining once haha. At the beginning of the opening, I didn't really like the rush and the prices were a bit high, so the cost performance was not great. However, I often buy their "warabi mochi" for takeout as a small gift. It is made with 100% warabi powder and they offer seasonal limited editions at reasonable prices. My senior colleagues who love warabi mochi are also pleased with it haha.
