Popular seafood bowl restaurant in Itoshima! The main store is very popular and when they opened a branch in Tenjin, it was often featured on TV. I had never been there before, but after going to Ashiya for a beach day, I visited this restaurant. I ordered the bluefin tuna bowl. The lean, medium fatty, and fatty tuna were cut into large pieces, and there was plenty of rice, so I was satisfied.

Delicious! The location was amazing too! Eating a seafood bowl on a terrace while looking at the sea was irresistible!!! The restaurant was smaller than the main store, but it didn't feel cramped, and it was a very comfortable space! It wasn't too far from the main store of Itoshima Shokudo, so if you find the main store too crowded, driving a little to eat on the terrace is also a good option!

I visited the very famous Itoshima Shokudo. It was in the midst of Golden Week, so the main store was packed. After driving through the mountain roads for about 20 minutes, I arrived at this branch, only to find it also full! I waited 30 minutes for a parking spot, 1 hour for a waiting ticket, 1.5 hours until I was called, and then another 30 minutes until I got a seat. After an incredible 3.5 hours wait, I finally got to try the tuna bowl, which was deliciously melt-in-your-mouth good! It was fun to choose from various soy sauces. Although it was a bit pricey at 2000 yen, I consider it as payment for the experience. Thank you for the meal.

During a drive, we visited Itoshima. This place is popular among young people and has several dining options. Rather than trendy restaurants, older folks prefer Japanese cuisine, right? There is a main store located a bit further away, and it always seems to have long lines. We checked in first and were given a buzzer to wait outside. Although there were empty seats, it seemed like they were struggling to clean up, so we waited for about 15 minutes. We ordered by scanning a QR code with our smartphones. Since my husband is not good at using smartphones, I did it instead. We wanted to try the "Sweet Shrimp Bowl," but unfortunately, it was sold out. My husband ordered the "Bluefin Tuna Bowl (1,700 yen)" and I was torn between the "Whitebait Bowl" and the "Salmon and Salmon Roe Bowl (1,700 yen)." The total came to 3,400 yen (including tax, card payment accepted). Although it took a while to be seated, the food was served quickly, in less than 5 minutes. The Bluefin Tuna Bowl (1,700 yen) came with miso soup. The tuna was a mix of various cuts and seemed delicious. My husband thought it was quite affordable. The Salmon and Salmon Roe Bowl (1,700 yen) came with miso soup as well. The container looked small, but there was plenty of rice, so it was quite filling. The salmon and salmon roe were generous portions. The salmon was delicious with its rich flavor, but I got a bit tired of it halfway through. Perhaps I should have gone for a seafood bowl with a variety of ingredients. The saltiness of the salmon roe was just right. I wish the miso soup had a bit more volume. My husband was satisfied with the Bluefin Tuna Bowl, which was filled with tuna and a good deal. The location with a view of the sea was also lovely.

The second branch of Itoshima Shokudo has opened! It is located in the parking lot of Cafe TIME, where three new stores have opened. You can order from your smartphone, and the dishes are made of paper for contactless and takeout purposes. Although the presentation may not be as fancy as the main store with wooden barrels, the taste is still delicious! I ordered the "Seafood Bowl" and the "Special Tuna Bowl". The seafood was thick and topped with both Kitai soy sauce and sesame sauce, which was on the sweeter side. It was delicious to enjoy a seafood bowl while looking at the sea. The restaurant had a contactless system in place as much as possible due to the pandemic. Orders were placed using a smartphone to scan a barcode, which displayed the menu. I ordered the seafood bowl for 1500 yen. After a short wait, the seafood bowl was ready, accompanied by miso soup with fish. The containers for the bowl and soup were disposable paper containers. The seafood bowl included ikura, salmon, scallops, squid, and tuna. I chose sesame soy sauce for the sauce. Despite initially feeling a bit unsatisfied due to the paper containers, the fresh and thick slices of sashimi provided more than enough satisfaction. I brought a friend from out of town to play in Fukuoka! When you come to Fukuoka, you must visit Itoshima for sightseeing! And you must eat here! Itoshima Shokudo!!! Recently, the location of the main store has changed, and some people accidentally go to Imazu, so please be careful when you go there~
