"The 'Ebi no Hisui Chahan' was a hit. The spinach was flavorful, the bamboo shoots were crunchy, the prawns were plump, and the fried rice was deliciously moist. The 'Hotate to Retasu no XO-jo Chahan' was also tasty with plenty of seafood flavor, and had a nice crispy texture. The Mapo Tofu had a rich miso flavor. Personally, it was just average. It was nice to have the green Sichuan pepper on the table to add extra spiciness. Thank you for the meal!

I had been passing by this restaurant for a while and was curious about it. The spiciness of the mapo tofu is said to increase with the amount of chili peppers. Since I prefer Sichuan peppercorns, I chose the Dragon level of spiciness so that I could adjust it later. I ordered it with a side of fried rice. The fried rice uses the same sauce as the mapo tofu, so it was a bit spicy. I sprinkled both red and green Sichuan peppercorns on top. The green ones have a strong aroma, while the red ones give a numbing sensation. However, the red ones lack aroma, so I ended up using both to get the perfect level of spiciness. The mapo tofu had a meaty texture, but the portion was small and the value for money was not great. The spiciness comes from the chili peppers, so in the end, I adjusted the flavor to my liking with the red and green Sichuan peppercorns. Overall, it was decent.

I was worried about whether I could make it back home due to the heavy rain causing the Shinkansen to stop since the previous afternoon. I had a ticket for the Mizuho departing from Hakata at 9:53 am. It was announced that the service between Shin-Osaka and Tokyo would resume around noon, so I hoped I would make it just in time and arrived at Hakata Station. I confirmed that the Mizuho was scheduled to depart as planned and decided to have a late breakfast at this underground food court. I noticed a sign for a "Morning Porridge Set: 600 yen" at this restaurant and went inside. I was seated at the counter facing the aisle and ordered the "Morning Porridge Set: 600 yen" with a choice of 3 toppings (essentially porridge toppings) - tobiko, mentaiko, and dried baby sardines. It was served 5 minutes later and I enjoyed it. On a side note, I eventually arrived home 4 hours later than originally planned. Luckily, I was able to find a seat in the unreserved section of the Kodama train, but the aisle was packed and I couldn't even go to the restroom... I was exhausted.

I finished my errands near Hakata Station and decided to stop by a random place I found with a sign that said "Tipsy Set." Here are the details of my visit:
- Date and time of visit: Mid-May on a Saturday around 3:20 PM, visited alone
- Crowd and atmosphere: There were a few solo customers, mostly women. The counter seats made it easy for solo diners to enter.
- After customers: There were also a few customers at this time, so it was not full.
- Order: I ordered the "Tipsy Set," which included 1 drink and a choice of 2 appetizers for 1,280 yen. However, during happy hour from 3-6 PM, you get 2 drinks for 1,500 yen. The drink options were draft beer or highball, and the appetizer choices included gyoza, mapo tofu, and yangnyeom chicken. I chose the following:
- "Grilled Gyoza (4 pieces)": The skin was firm and the filling was packed, very delicious!
- "Mapo Tofu in Stone Pot (small)": It was served in a boiling stone pot. Among the mapo tofu dishes I've had recently, this was the spiciest and most delicious! I will definitely come back for this.
- Payment: PayPay is accepted. Thank you for the meal!

Hakata Station Underground Dining Street "Hakata Ichiban-gai" is the closest dining street to Hakata Station, with famous restaurants from Fukuoka setting up shop there. I had some time to spare, so I decided to have a quick drink. After some consideration, I chose Chinese cuisine. I ordered the "Tipsy Set" for 1280 yen, which is available from 10 am. For the snack, you can choose 2 items from a selection of 6, and I chose the grilled dumplings and mapo tofu without much hesitation. I selected the "2nd spicy level" for the mapo tofu, Tiger, but Dragon (1st spicy level) is recommended. The dumplings were juicy and delicious, and the mapo tofu was spicy and numbing, typical of Sichuan cuisine. The spiciness reminded me of the hot pot I had in Hong Kong, almost making me faint. As I continued eating, I started sweating, but by the time I finished my meal, I felt refreshed. This is the charm of Sichuan cuisine, I guess! I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Thank you!

I had dinner at JR Hakata Station and decided to try out a Chinese restaurant that I had been curious about in the underground shopping area "Hakata Ichiban-gai". I ordered the Half Tan-Tan Men and Mapo Tofu (small) Rice Set for 1,480 yen. It was a weekday past 8 PM and the restaurant was full, so I had to wait for about 10 minutes before being seated at the counter. From the outside, you wouldn't know this, but the counter seats seemed to be mostly occupied by solo female customers enjoying beer, facing towards each other. The Tan-Tan Men was a unique creation with a rich flavor, so it was delicious to eat the noodles first and then drink the soup with the rice. I chose the least spicy option for the Mapo Tofu, and it was hot and emphasized the spiciness, so those who like moderately spicy food might prefer the least spicy option. It was quite a generous portion, and I enjoyed it until I was full.

The lunch set for Mapo Tofu comes with soup, salad, and pickles, and rice is free for seconds. There are different styles of spiciness ranging from "Dragon" to "Devil", and the Tiger style had about 3 whole chili peppers in it. It wasn't too spicy except when eating the chili peppers. There are two types of Sichuan pepper available, one for its fragrance and the other for its numbing effect. The fragrant one is really aromatic, while the numbing one didn't have much of a numbing sensation. However, I did break out into a sweat. Overall, it's located in the underground of the station, so I wouldn't say it's worth becoming a regular customer.

A Chinese izakaya where everything you eat is delicious! They have a variety of fried rice dishes and each one is tasty! The mapo tofu is also delicious with a flavor that suits Japanese taste buds, but be careful because even the mild version can be spicy for some people! The pickled vegetables and tantan noodles are also great choices! Perfect for when you want a hearty meal!

I visited seeking comfort in porridge and stimulation in tantan noodles on a tired morning. The Tantanmen Morning Porridge Set for ¥980 is a bit pricey, but with unlimited porridge refills, it's not a problem. This was truly a revival with porridge warming up my tired body and providing perfect healing.

We enjoyed delicious yakitori at Hachibei for the first round, and then wandered around Hakata Station underground mall looking for a place to eat rice dishes for the second round. We found a place with a good deal on a slightly tipsy set, and it seemed like a comfortable place to relax. The tipsy set included two items for 1180 yen, a three-flavor mapo tofu, and a highball. I added an extra highball for 420 yen. When asked about the spiciness level, I chose the "Mala Tiger" option. After taking a bite of the Mala Tiger, I started coughing and sweat started pouring out of my body. I regretted ordering it as I am not good with spicy food. Every time I ate the mapo tofu, the music from BON JOVI's "Armageddon" popped into my head. I couldn't taste the flavor within the spiciness.

First time visiting this place. It's located in the underground shopping area of Hakata Station. It's just before 7 pm and all the other restaurants seem crowded, but this one is relatively empty so we were able to enter easily. They have something called a "tipsy set," so we ordered that. My partner and I got 2 appetizers and 1 drink for 1180 yen. They also have a set with 3 appetizers and 1 drink. We chose mapo tofu, fried dumplings, pickled tofu, and fried chicken for our appetizers. I wasn't expecting much from the appetizers, but they were actually quite good and the portions were generous. It's a good deal! The mapo tofu was piping hot and spicy. You can choose the level of spiciness, so we went with the standard, which wasn't too spicy at first, but it crept up on us as we ate. Good thing we didn't choose a higher level of spiciness! We also ordered a lemon sour and a highball for an additional 2040 yen. It's wallet-friendly here. Thanks for the meal! :)

I visited "Ron Fu Dining Hakata Ichiban-gai" on this day. After watching a popular stage play at Hakataza, the main event of this trip, I arrived at Hakata 1st Avenue in JR Hakata Station. The restaurant is located diagonally across from the first shop. When I entered before 5:30 pm, there were many customers already inside and more coming in later. There were many solo female customers. I had already decided on what to order, but I checked the menu just in case. I ordered the "Tipsy Set" and a draft beer. For the appetizers, I chose the recommended "Stone Pot Mapo Tofu," "Assorted Plate," and "Edamame." It was amazing that you could order the Tipsy Set from 11 am. Fukuoka is such a wonderful city. The draft beer and edamame arrived quickly. I think the brand was "Sapporo" Black Label. By the time the Assorted Plate and Stone Pot Mapo Tofu arrived, I had finished the draft beer. I ordered a bottle of beer. The brand was "Sapporo Red Star." I had a great time eating and drinking, enjoying conversation with the friendly lady at the restaurant. It was a pleasant drinking experience.

After work visit!
Lomfunchahan - 930 yen including tax
Mapo tofu (medium) - 880 yen including tax
Qingjiao rousi - 770 yen including tax
The dishes come out quickly after ordering, so it's okay for those who are short on time.
The Qingjiao rousi was a bit too heavily seasoned.
The Mapo tofu was already quite spicy even in Dragon Style (normal spiciness).

When visiting Hakata, this is a must-visit shop. The mapo tofu served in a hot iron pot here is exceptional. You can choose the levels of numbing and spiciness, which is great. If you choose the highest level of spiciness, it's truly amazing. I usually order the numbing and spicy mapo tofu, but this time I went for just numbing. See comparison photo. People in Fukuoka are truly lucky.

I visited the store a little before noon on Friday, September 10th. It was my first time visiting. The store is located underground on the Hakata side of Hakata Station. A female staff member was enthusiastically calling out in front of the store, so I thought it might be empty, but when I entered, over 80% of the seats were taken. I sat at a table for two. When I looked at the menu, it said "You can choose the spiciness of the mapo tofu." Without hesitation, I chose the lunch set "Mapo Tofu Set (1,050 yen)" and ordered the spiciest level, Devil style (6 chili pepper marks - Danger!!). In less than 2 minutes after ordering, the lunch soup, salad, and cold dish were brought to me. As I leisurely ate the salad, the mapo tofu and rice were brought to me just a minute later. As expected of a store in the station underground, it was fast (*_*). It was bubbling in a stone pot. I transferred it to a plate and took a bite... It was a bit spicier than slightly spicy for me. It wasn't as devilish or dangerous as the label suggests. However, it tasted good, and I even choked a little. I didn't want it to cool down, so after transferring an appropriate amount to a plate, it continued to bubble for over 10 minutes, perhaps because I covered it with the lid. It took me a bit of time to eat as I have a sensitive tongue, but I finished it in about 20 minutes. There was no water pot on the table, but the staff seemed to be watching closely and came to refill it when it was low. By the time I paid with PayPay at the register and left, the store was full, with nearly 10 people waiting. I would like to visit this store again.

■Visit Date: July 13, 2020■Items Received・Tipsy Set・Stone Pot Mapo Tofu (small)・Grilled Gyoza (4 pieces)・Fried Chicken Breast (3 pieces) with special mayo sauce■MEMOVisited on July 13, 2020 at a shop located in Hakata Ichiban-gai. I decided to have dinner before checking into the hotel in the evening. The shop mainly has counter seats and table seats. There are partitions between the counter seats for social distancing. I ordered the Tipsy Set which includes 3 appetizers for 1180 yen. The menu I chose is as follows: Stone Pot Mapo Tofu (small), Grilled Gyoza (4 pieces), Fried Chicken Breast (3 pieces) with special mayo sauce. As you can see in the photos, with a set like this and a beer, I was completely satisfied. It was a great time sipping on beer and enjoying the appetizers. It was a long day starting from Kyoto, but the beer was really delicious! I was very happy with this meal. The stone pot mapo tofu was spicy and bubbling hot, making me sweat as I enjoyed it. The beer was also going down smoothly. It was a relaxing moment to heal my fatigue.■Bloghttps://ay-style.net/?p=51730

I visited the restaurant for lunch with my colleagues. It was crowded as it was lunchtime at Hakata Station, but we were able to eat without waiting too long after placing our order. The mapo tofu in a stone pot can be adjusted for spiciness by adjusting the amount of chili pepper and Sichuan pepper. I love spicy food, but I'm not a fan of Sichuan pepper, so I asked for a small amount of it. I chose the lunch course which includes the mapo tofu in a stone pot and a choice of several fried rice options. It also comes with almond jelly for dessert, which is a perfect way to end the meal after eating something spicy. The mapo tofu, fried rice, and almond jelly were all delicious, making it a luxurious and satisfying lunch. This restaurant is a must-visit for those who love spicy food.

The taste is delicious, but the young staff's customer service is too mechanical, lacking smiles, which is disappointing. The staff member at the final payment did have a smile at one point, so I don't think they are a bad person, but they didn't make eye contact or smile when giving back change. I understand they may be busy, but the lack of smiles from the young staff makes me wonder if something is going on at work.

I went to Ron Fu Dining Hakata Ichiban-gai store on March 16, 2019 (Saturday). It's located in the underground area of Hakata Station. Unlike other places with long lines, I was able to get in easily at this restaurant. Now, what should I eat? I think a set with noodles would be good. So, should I go for the Tan Tan Men lunch set or the Sour and Spicy Ramen lunch set? I ordered the half Sour and Spicy Ramen set for 1190 yen (excluding tax). For the fried rice, I chose the Yangzhou Fried Rice. It's no surprise that a restaurant specializing in fried rice makes delicious ones. The yellow color you see is not curry, it's egg. The rice was fluffy and had the perfect amount of salt. The Sour and Spicy Ramen was spicy, sour, and delicious. It had Mitsuba, chicken, bamboo shoots, and beaten egg, giving it an authentic taste. The noodles were medium thickness, and the amount was just right when paired with the fried rice. Overall, it was a satisfying lunch. The store is located at 1-1 Hakata Station Chuo-gai, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City, on the 1st floor of JR Hakata City underground. They are closed on holidays.

I visited a restaurant that I used to frequent, after about 3 years. Compared to two or three years ago, the variety of fried rice has decreased. It used to be more separated, but this time it was a bit too moist... I'm not sure. The dumplings and soup were consistently delicious, but the taste has changed a bit from when I used to go there. I had my husband try the spiciest mapo tofu, but it was more hot in temperature than spicy.
