I have been coming to this place since it was a small shop. The food is delicious. The taste is worth the price! The gyoza is definitely a must-try. Even when going with family, the set meals are affordable and the old-fashioned feel of the place is comforting. However, there are no sunken kotatsu tables, so you have to sit in seiza or tatehiza for a long time, which can be a bit tough. Having more table seats would be helpful for the elderly. Despite that, the staff are energetic and you can feel their positive energy while eating. Just be careful with the hot iron pot if you have small children.

Located just a 1-minute walk from the Nishitetsu Fukuro-machi bus stop in Arakawa 3-chome, Sawara-ku, Fukuoka City. The exterior features a parking lot on the 1st floor, with the 2nd floor housing the restaurant. Inside, there are counter seats, table seats, and traditional Japanese table seats. Lately, Fukuoka is known for its delicious gyoza, with the most famous being the "Iron Pot Gyoza" that has been featured in national media. There are multiple "Iron Pot" gyoza restaurants in the city, each with its own unique flavor. It may take a bit of time to cook, but the side dishes like potatoes, kimchi, and okara are a must-try. Enjoy them with your gyoza for a delicious combination. Other popular menu items include chicken wings and liver with leeks. The gyoza arrives sizzling hot on a round iron plate, with a crispy exterior and juicy filling. Enjoy them plain, with vinegar soy sauce and yuzu pepper, or topped with potatoes, kimchi, and okara for an explosion of flavors. This particular restaurant's gyoza is considered the best in Fukuoka, and we ordered multiple servings to enjoy. Overall, a top-notch gyoza experience in Fukuoka. Thank you for the meal. Enjoy your gyoza life!

I visited the restaurant around 3 o'clock in the afternoon on a regular day, and there was only one other customer before me. I had seen the takeout sign and the opening hours displayed on the first floor of Arakawa Tetsu Nabe on my morning commute. The restaurant seemed to be open for lunch and dinner, but they closed early at 8 pm, so I thought I could get takeout and have it for dinner. I had always wanted to visit this restaurant, but I never had the chance during lunch hours, and I always wanted to drink at night, so it was a bit inconvenient for me. I observed a customer in a suit going up to the second floor, took some photos downstairs, and then went up myself. When I opened the door and asked for takeout, everyone seemed a bit suspicious of me. I felt a bit out of place, but after taking a moment to breathe, I received friendly service. I ordered 3 servings of dumplings, liver and leek stir-fry, and the famous potato salad. Since there were no other customers, I was asked to wait at a table. After a while, I realized that the customer upstairs was a well-known figure in Fukuoka, although not in the city we were in. The atmosphere seemed a bit more lively. I waited quite a bit in the spacious restaurant, and the chef kindly offered me a takeout menu, hinting that making a reservation would be a good idea. After about 15 minutes, my order was ready, and I paid at the register before leaving. The food had a strong and pleasant aroma. I drove home with the windows open. It was dinner time, and I decided to keep the potato salad as it was, reheat the liver and leek stir-fry in the microwave, and for the dumplings, I chose to microwave them as well. The dumplings were crispy even after microwaving, and they were delicious with the accompanying sauce and chili oil. The liver and leek stir-fry had plenty of liver but could have used more leeks. The potato salad was excellent, with the perfect balance of flavors and textures. I thought the price might be a bit high, but the portion was actually satisfying, and I was able to scoop up every last bit with a spoon thanks to the deceptive container. I would like to visit this restaurant again before they return to their regular hours. Thank you for the meal.

On May 6, 2018, "Tetsunabe Arae Honten" serves piping hot crispy iron pot gyoza in Fukuoka. The origin of this famous dish can be traced back to "Honten Tetsunabe" in Yahata, Kitakyushu, and was later introduced to Fukuoka by the founder of "Tetsunabe Arae Honten". The restaurant is spacious with 60 seats and a history displayed on its walls. The gyoza is served in a sizzling iron pot, creating a crispy texture with a juicy filling. The dish is hot, flavorful, and pairs well with the tangy sauce and yuzu pepper. Enjoy a unique gyoza experience in Fukuoka by visiting different Tetsunabe gyoza restaurants.

The dumplings are delicious, and the side dishes are also tasty. A restaurant where the rice goes well.

Once you try the iron pot dumplings here, you'll keep coming back for more. The dumplings are crispy and hot, and since they're small, you can eat as many as you want. They taste even better when dipped in vinegar soy sauce with spicy chili. You can choose a side dish for an additional charge, and I always go for the potato salad, which is also delicious! The clam soup is packed with clams and is reasonably priced. The staff are friendly and provide quick service, leaving a good impression.

I went here near Nakasu. Unlike teppanyaki restaurants, I was able to sit smoothly without waiting in line. The taste was impressive as expected from a famous restaurant. I thought it was a place easy to enter even with children.

I wonder how many years it has been since I last went. I think it was about 10 years ago. I went at 8:00 pm on a weekday, and there were a lot of customers. There are counter seats, table seats, and tatami seats, and the tatami seats were full. We ordered the famous "iron pot dumplings", liver and leek stir-fry, vinegar tripe, potato salad, grilled pork, clam soup, chicken wings, and more. The famous dumplings were delicious, of course, and go well with beer. Surprisingly, the chicken wings stewed in sauce exceeded my expectations. The meat was tender and fell off the bone, and I ended up eating three by myself. I want to go again sometime.

Clam miso set meal for 1,026 yen. It has been over 20 years since my last visit. The parking lot starts to fill up before the opening. There are groups of 8 to 10 people, spanning three generations, possibly visiting for the Bon festival. I always order the same thing here. Actually, the portion of gyoza for one person is small, so I usually add more, but I have plans later so I resisted. The gyoza is still crispy and delicious as always.

During the middle of Golden Week, I visited the Arakawa Honoten restaurant for dinner and was seated promptly. I ordered the following: - Sweet and Spicy Chicken Wings - Stir-Fried Garlic Chives with Egg - 4 servings of Gyoza (dumplings) - Rice I was informed that they would not be taking any more orders for Gyoza after mine. The Sweet and Spicy Chicken Wings were delicious and satisfying, with a thick and sticky sauce. The Stir-Fried Garlic Chives with Egg on a large plate was delightful with its creamy texture. The Gyoza served in a hot iron pot were crispy and tasted almost like fried dumplings. They were a perfect match for beer and made a great snack. The Gyoza remained hot until the very end due to being served in the iron pot. This was my first experience with authentic iron pot cuisine in Fukuoka! I look forward to pairing it with beer next time. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

Since other shops were crowded, I decided to come here. There were many regular customers from the neighborhood. I actually love dumplings♪ I had been curious about this place for a while. The interior of the restaurant has a traditional izakaya feel. There are counter seats, making it easy for solo diners to enter. - Gyoza set meal 850 yen (the gyoza in the photo is for 2 people) Changed side dish to "potato salad" for an extra 100 yen The characteristic of the iron pan gyoza is... the crispy fried skin, which provides a delightful texture. However, Fukuoka-style gyoza tends to be smaller, so there may be a bit too much crunchiness (・~・). The seasoning of the filling is strong. The enjoyable texture keeps you from getting tired of eating. But since the photo shows gyoza for 2 people... it might be a bit small for dinner. Nevertheless, fried gyoza is filling. It's best enjoyed with a beer. Recommended for people like: - Neighbors and regular customers Thank you for the meal(。-人-。)

Tetsu Nabe Arae Honten is a very popular restaurant where the seats are always almost full whenever you go. Their specialty iron pot dumplings are crispy even when they cool down, providing a delightful texture. The liver and leek dish is also fantastic and goes perfectly with beer. Each piece of liver is large and goes well with alcohol, making you crave for white rice. In addition, their side dishes such as potato salad, chicken skin, and Chinese-style seasoned jellyfish are also excellent choices to accompany your drinks. With such a variety of side dishes that go well with alcohol, you may find yourself ordering more than you planned for. Highly recommended!

When I first came to Fukuoka, I used to go there often. Recently, I stopped going because I felt the taste had declined a bit. The reason I went back after a long time was because the restaurant I wanted to go to was crowded. However, it was the right decision. I went before 9 pm, so I was able to get in easily. I was with my child, but there was a tatami room available. What's more, the taste is starting to come back, and I discovered some new delicious items. The location is about 300m west of Imaijuku Kaido Arae Yotsukado. The first floor is a parking lot, and you go up the stairs to the second floor where there are table seats and a tatami room in the back. The main dishes are gyoza set meals, and this time I had the clam soup set meal and the pork miso soup set meal, each with gyoza and clam soup or pork miso soup. Additionally, I ordered potato salad and, this time, I asked about a dish I saw on another table that was empty, and it turned out to be "Nirareba," so I ordered that. First, a side dish of tofu potato salad came, and soon after the Nirareba arrived. It was delicious with a sweet and savory miso flavor. My 2-year-old child enjoyed eating it. Then, a cast iron pot with 18 gyoza for two people came. They had a decent crispy texture and good flavor. The staff was also kind to my child, so I am likely to visit more often. I saw some comments mentioning a decline in taste in reviews, but I wanted to write about the possible revival of the cast iron pot gyoza. Thank you for the meal.

I used to go there occasionally even before it became the current reinforced concrete building, but I feel like the taste has changed. As someone else mentioned, it seems like it has lost its impact. The vinegar used with the gyoza was strangely too strong. I used to be able to eat 2-3 servings easily in the past, but now one serving is enough. It seems like there are quite a few customers coming in later in the evening. I think the cost performance is on the lower side, including drinks like alcohol. I hope it remains a gyoza place with a taste for the common people. On this day, a serving of pan-fried gyoza, vinegar-miso soup, a draft beer, and two glasses of shochu cost 1,890 yen, if I remember correctly.
