Summer vacation where I can't take them out to play. When my older daughter becomes a middle school student... things are different than before... I feel the growth of my children more than ever this summer. Our first family outing in a while was for a relative's memorial service. On the way back from Fukuoka city, we decided to grab a bite to eat. Usually... Kura Sushi or Sushiro... or maybe a family restaurant? That's what I expected, but then the girls immediately said, "I want to go to Sukiya!" Huh? You've never eaten beef bowl before! I thought, but apparently there is a collaboration campaign with "Attack on Titan"... (laughs) Honestly... in my beef bowl ranking... Yoshinoya is overwhelmingly the best. Then Matsuya, and then Sukiya... (laughs) I searched for a nearby store and found the "Fukuoka Airport store." Going to Sukiya with the family was totally unexpected. The collaboration with the manga really works, huh? (laughs) When we arrived, we found out that if you order a set with "Tonjiru Ontama Set" or "Shijimi Soup Ontama Set," you get a card. A card... a card... just one... disappointing! Even though I've never had a set before... apparently, everyone ordered a set to get 4 cards. What a silly plan! After much deliberation, I ordered the "Unagi Beef (regular)" (890 yen) + "Shijimi Soup Ontama Set" (240 yen). Eel and beef... have been Sukiya's specialty menu for a while now... but I've never tried it. It was my first time. It was late, so I chose "regular." There was no need to wait. Sukiya has a perfect operation and my order was brought to me. The "Unagi Beef" on the bowl. One piece of eel kabayaki covering half of the bowl with beef. Well, for a regular size, this is the amount you get. When I tried it... it matched better than I expected. Eel and beef. The sweet sauce on the rice under the eel also goes well with the beef. Next time I eat it, I want to try the large size. It would cost 1,380 yen, which is quite expensive for Sukiya. My wife had the "Melty 3 Cheese Gyudon" (440 yen). My daughters had the "Gyudon (regular)" (350 yen) and the "Chicken Soboro Don (regular)" (350 yen). My daughter, who dislikes meat, had the minced chicken, which she could eat, so it was just right for her. It was mostly like a rice bowl with egg on top... (laughs) Each came with a set of shijimi soup or tonjiru and a soft-boiled egg. Well, both soups were delicious... our first time at Sukiya turned out to be quite luxurious. But the total bill was less than 3,000 yen for four people. Amazing! In the end, we got 4 out of the 5 different cards. They said when September comes, a new series will be released, so we have to go again... and if you get takeout, you get a can badge, so next time, buy it and eat it... Hmm... oh well... (laughs)
