You can add a mini udon or mini soba for an extra 100 yen with any rice bowl, but considering the time of dinner, it was a bit of an awkward time, so I just ordered the rice bowl. Prices have been increasing for various things recently, but this place is still reasonably priced, which is helpful.

Extremely good, cheap udon in a positive way. There used to be a place like this in the local area, but it closed down a while ago. In the past, I would come with my kids and the whole family of five could eat to our hearts' content for only 2000 yen. I personally had the classic tempura udon with a topping of kelp. I ordered the parent and child bowl set (600 yen including tax), which comes with a mini soba and parent and child bowl. I chose the hot soba, which had a light and calming broth. The parent and child bowl was generous with chicken and plenty of sauce.

Let's start with the broth. It has a nice aroma of bonito and kelp, with a rich and delicious flavor. The kakiage, with plenty of ingredients, sits atop the soft udon noodles and absorbs the broth beautifully, becoming tender and flavorful. All of this for just 350 yen is truly a miracle.

When I went to eat the kitsune udon lunch, the interaction inside the restaurant was so funny, like a Yoshimoto New Comedy show, that I almost laughed out my kitsune udon through my nose. A customer who looked like Hanakiku Kyo asked for "kitsune udon" and the elderly lady waitress replied, "Tempura udon, right?" The customer insisted, "No, I said kitsune udon!" The waitress then confirmed the order again, asking, "What was your order?" The customer repeated "kitsune udon." Eventually, the waitress brought tempura udon again. The customer complained, "This is not kitsune udon!" The waitress apologized and finally brought the correct kitsune udon. Despite the comical exchanges, the customer enjoyed the 330 yen kitsune udon with a large piece of tempura. Alongside the amusing interactions, I finished the slightly soft tanuki kitsune soba with a complimentary tempura lump. The elderly waitresses may be a bit forgetful, but they work hard and strive to provide good service at an affordable price. It's a popular udon restaurant near the station that makes you want to cheer for the staff.

It arrived in about 5 minutes with toppings of tempura crumbs, green onions, and grated yam seaweed, which was a pleasant surprise. The broth had a gentle Kansai flavor with a slightly sweet taste. The noodles were soft and chewy, typical of Osaka-style udon. This place seems like a good option for a gentle meal even after a heavy drinking session in the Temma area during the day. Without hesitation, I can't stop anymore. - Tempura Udon (300 yen + set meal 170 yen) A set meal with mixed rice and pickles for an additional 170 yen. Tempura Udon with tempura, seaweed, and green onions. The soup is delicious! It warms you up after drinking. The udon is also good, excellent! Mixed rice has a nice texture and is delicious! I can't stop eating. - Small Udon (160 yen) Chosen by my Street Fighter II-loving friend. It's ridiculously cheap. This is the true Tenma price. Ah, I'm already full. I want to visit this place once without drinking.

Yakiniku lunch drinking → mysterious bar → standing drinking disappointment → disappointment in a casual izakaya style → ended up at a sake brewery and got really drunk, to be honest I don't remember much but... I was brought here by a friend and it seems we had udon here haha. Personally, I like the slightly sweet udon here. My food buddy said it was just okay, but my drinking buddy liked it. I traveled from Hiroshima to Tokyo on a business trip, and then from Tokyo to Osaka. I had soba and udon with Kanto-style soy sauce broth for the first time in a while. Maybe it was because I had just come from Tokyo, but the broth here tasted a bit weak. Both the udon and tempura rice bowl were enjoyed with the help of chili pepper. It was a lifesaver to have such a meal in a short amount of time at this price for this amount of food. I was able to enjoy the Showa era atmosphere, but next time I want to experience the atmosphere of Osaka as well.
