I went to a coffee shop called "Coffee House Kado" in Osaka, Higashi-Shinsaibashi. It has a nostalgic retro atmosphere and offers comfortable sofa and counter seats. Smoking is allowed inside and ashtrays are provided at each table. They have a wide variety of drinks, including different flavors of coffee. They also serve light meals such as sandwiches and pilaf, as well as sweets like pancakes and cakes. Prices are reasonable and seem to have remained unchanged for a long time. They are open until midnight, making it convenient for meetings or a relaxing break after dinner in Minami.

The cinnamon tea was delicious! It's great that smoking is allowed in the shop. It's becoming rare these days, so it's inconvenient for smokers. The atmosphere of the shop is also very nice, with a retro feel. The staff are friendly, and I feel like I want to keep coming back to spend time there.

I stopped by a cafe on a whim. It had an English-style atmosphere. I ordered a matcha squash and a strawberry mille-feuille cake. The taste was neither particularly good nor bad, just average. I would like to try other items on the menu as well.

I'm a college student in Osaka, and after having some shabu-shabu in Kita-Shinchi with my friend, we went to have drinks in Shinsaibashi. Before drinking, we took a coffee break. I had a rare choice of a hot café au lait, while my friend had a black iced coffee. We shared some frozen pancakes. Well, it's a tea house after all! 😂

In the Minami area, this area is probably bustling at night as well. The café is open from 2 pm to 2 am the next day. Looking at the menu displayed, it seemed like a good place to take a coffee break. I ordered the daily service coffee, specifically the Sumatra Mandheling for 470 yen (tax included). Since it's a single-origin coffee shop, the coffee itself was easy to drink and quite delicious. But you know, I think the aroma of coffee is also important. When a customer who came in later started smoking a bit far away, it was game over. The coffee aroma disappeared. Thank you for the meal.
On a side note, I recently had a personal (self-proclaimed) fun guessing game about the price of a cup and saucer. The saucer had a flower pattern, and on the back, it said MADE IN JAPAN NARUMI. I guessed 1,500 yen, while my friend p guessed 2,300 yen, and coco guessed 2,000 yen. The actual price was around 2,600 yen. Both of them were almost right!
By the way, p mentioned that she had seen it before when looking for a celebratory one, and coco said that it seemed like a typical daily use item for her mom. Both of them are unexpectedly amazing!

Today, I took a break here. I had a late lunch after work and took a break here. The customers inside the shop seemed to be on the higher end. It feels like a retro coffee shop from the Showa era. It's a blissful time to relax like this. It's a time when I don't have to take care of anyone, so I want to have this kind of time. I felt the strong acidity and sweetness of the wild strawberries, but maybe this is just right. The coffee I had black had a good aroma but was a bit weak in bitterness. Well, I've replenished my sugar intake, so let's give it one more push. Thank you for the meal!

I visited the old-fashioned coffee shop "Kamame" in Shinsaibashi. The coffee shop is open until 5:00 in the morning, so it's a great place to kill time before dinner. I ordered a hot coffee (mild blend) for 460 yen. There were various customers visiting, and the atmosphere was calm and relaxing.

This cafe is perfect for describing as classical. Is this a traditional coffee shop? No, this could be described as Minami style, right?? It's that kind of coffee shop haha. From the atmosphere inside the shop, to the vibe of the owner and the customers, it all adds up to Minami style!!! No doubt about it. I was a bit hungry, so I went for the light meal set menu. I chose a hot dog and black tea for 690 yen, which is pretty cheap. The hot dog had ketchup and mustard on it, giving it a nostalgic taste. It was simple and good. The black tea was my choice because I had been drinking coffee all morning, but... it was delicious! The aroma was just as strong as coffee and it really helped me refresh my mood. Thanks for the meal.

Coffee Shop Hopping - Kohzu, Shinsaibashi
I love coffee shops. The nostalgic Showa era atmosphere is irresistible. I want to visit shops that feel like stepping into the world of my beloved author, Edogawa Rampo. Here are the rules: 1. No chain stores (unless I didn't know it was a chain). 2. No trendy cafes. 3. Usually just one cup of coffee. 4. Don't research in advance. Just walk into a shop that catches my eye. 5. Even if it's unfriendly or dirty, that's part of the charm. No badmouthing.
This time, I visited "Kohzu" in Shinsaibashi. I'm not sure how to pronounce it. There was a sign next to it saying "Coffee House." I thought it might be related to Coffee House chain, but it seems different. Inside, there was chic jazz playing, and the sofas, lighting, and atmosphere were all nice. Thank you for the meal.

It is located a little south of Europe Street. The entrance is wide, with glass bay windows, lace curtains, and chandeliers visible. Upon entering, you will find red velvet chairs, frosted glass lamps, and a large red counter, creating a classical and elegant atmosphere. I chose the hot dog set menu for lunch, which includes cake, hot dog, and pancakes, along with a hot coffee for 690 yen. The coffee is freshly ground and brewed using a siphon. The coffee has a high acidity and a fragrant flavor. The hot dog arrived next, with lettuce, cucumber, and coarse-ground sausage sandwiched in a nostalgic bun. The flavors of the sausage match well with the mustard and ketchup. The spacious interior was almost full of female customers and businessmen. When I spoke to a female staff member, she mentioned that the café has been in business for 36 years. She also mentioned that such traditional cafes are becoming rare. However, the fact that they are open until 5 am in the bustling area shows that there is still a strong demand for them.

Well, I continued walking around like that, and as it approached 6:00 PM, the streets of Shinsaibashi started to get a bit more crowded, making me a bit restless. Even though this city is all about spending money, the atmosphere of this city before it gets lively is interesting in its own way. Since I was already here, maybe it would be nice to sit by the window at a cafe in Kasuyamachi, where there are many bars. With that in mind, I wonder how "Kouzu" is pronounced? Sitting by the window, watching the flow of people... I ordered an iced coffee. The customers coming in are all unique. There was a hostess who hadn't transformed yet, and a Bowie-like person were talking about this and that as they entered the cafe. Ah... I've been rolling like this for how many years now... However, this cafe seems to have a lot of takeout orders. It must be popular. Maybe that's why the coffee comes out so quickly!! I mean, it takes like 30 seconds. Drinking coffee while watching human interactions through the window is also interesting. I think this cafe allows you to feel the real Osaka. When you visit Osaka, this small town within the city might be more interesting than going to a cafe in Dotonbori. It's a lively town in the city.

The title may sound suspicious, but it's just a normal café♫ Feeling tired from drinking, and it's cold outside, so it's rare to find a café open at this hour♫ What a relief~♫ I wonder until what time they're open? Ordered a hot coffee for 560 yen♫ While enjoying the delicious drink, I looked around and saw an old man and a young lady whispering to each other (I wonder what they're talking about), a man giving a bag to a hostess and saying, "Wow~♫ I'm so happy~♫ I really wanted this~♫" even though he didn't seem that excited, and somewhere else a host was saying, "I used to be just like you guys until six months ago. But now, I can treat a junior to yakiniku or something." Dreamless talk like that, and at another table, a mama was encouraging a hostess by saying, "That was a chance bottle! You have to finish it desperately!" Midnight cafés are full of drama♫ Now, where should I go next~♫ Thanks for the meal~♫

Midnight coffee shop. Today, once again, I got carried away chatting with the passionate members and missed the last train. After saying goodbye to everyone, I wandered around alone. Luckily, there's a coffee shop open until morning for someone like me who can't drink. The menu board here isn't that expensive, it's just a normal coffee shop. The set menu is a bit more expensive now that it's midnight, but it still feels like a good deal. The matcha menu looks tempting, like the matcha cream latte. The interior of the shop, by the way, I took the photo when there were no customers. It was actually quite crowded most of the time. And the customers are interesting. There's a woman who looks like a mama-san, a regular, people in the nightlife industry, a well-off older man, and then there's me, a regular person (?), which seems rare as a customer here. I ordered the hotcake set for 780 yen. I chose coffee as the drink for the set. They make it fresh after taking the order. It's nicely fluffy and delicious. There's too much margarine, I used half and it was still too much, but getting extra is nice, right? Delicious, but I've eaten quite a bit before coming here, so it's a bit painful (laughs). Coffee shop Kokaizakan offers delivery service as well. It was an enjoyable experience observing people at the midnight coffee shop.

Located a little off Suoumachi Street in Shinsaibashi, there is a café called "Kamame." Although there is a separate signboard saying "Coffee House," it seems that "Kamame" is the official name of the café. Perhaps "Kamame" is pronounced as "Coffee," but without knowing the official name, we always say, "Let's go to Coffee House," and it seems to work. This café has been in business for at least 10 years, as indicated by the three-digit area code on the signboard. The interior of the café has a calm, chic atmosphere with a touch of luxury. Unlike the noisy Seattle-style cafes, you can relax here. The coffee is decent, nothing exceptional, but it's a nice place for a quick break.

I wandered around the Minami district to adjust the meeting time and ended up entering "Koubu" because I was tired from walking and wanted to drink delicious coffee. The interior of the shop has a retro Showa era atmosphere, with a large world map on the wall showing the coffee origins. They carefully brew each cup using a siphon, spreading the aroma throughout the shop. The surprising thing is that the set menus are incredibly cheap! The pancake, hot dog, and cake set is only 650 yen. The pancake is fluffy and handmade, topped with plenty of butter and maple syrup. The morning service is available until 5 pm, which is great.
