Kawachi
Seafood Izakaya Uopuku in Osaka City, Kita-ku, Doyamacho Blog ⇒ The everyday meals of an old man from Kawachi, sometimes with sake. It's a 6-minute walk from Higashi-Umeda Station on the Osaka Metro Tanimachi Line, at Uopuku Seafood Izakaya. In December 2019, it was reborn in the gourmet district "Nomoka" in the renovated "Izumi no Hiroba" at Whity Umeda, which has become quite beautiful now. But there was a rumor at one time that a red-dressed ghost would appear, right? Scary. Just up from the M6 stairs of the former "Izumi no Hiroba" to the ground. There was a tip that there was an interesting izakaya in the food and beverage building "Hakuba Bld"... We went to visit with my partner right away.
On a Tuesday weekday, there were quite a few customers even though it was a weekday. But with 140 seats, there was still plenty of room. I targeted a seat without customers for a focus. Oh, there's even a kids' room. They can clean up properly, good job!
There is a 2-hour all-you-can-drink plan with premium sake for 3,300 yen... including beer, highballs, sours, shochu, and all the refrigerated sake. It's a 2-item order system for food, but it's a great deal for sake lovers. However, I won't order it because my partner will definitely warn me not to drink too much.
We were guided to a table for 4 people. It seems that you can get a good coupon by adding them as friends on LINE. Unfortunately, I added them when I was writing this article...
Sapporo Draft Beer Black Label 550 yen
I love Sapporo Black Label... Cheers! My partner had oolong tea (330 yen). Let's dig in.
1 Cucumber Pickled 418 yen
First, something light. It's a very shallow pickled cucumber, so it's just right with ginger soy sauce.
Firefly Squid Pickled 418 yen
Firefly squid pickled in the ocean is my favorite. I always order it when it's available. It's really the best as a sake snack.
Uopuku Roll 1,408 yen
I was a little hungry, so I ordered the recommended sushi roll by the staff. It's a luxurious roll sushi with plenty of sea urchin, salmon roe, and flying fish roe. The inside is rolled with tamagoyaki. Salmon roe, flying fish roe, and tamagoyaki, it's an egg feast...
Various game-like elements are scattered throughout Uopuku, like an amusement facility. Among them, the one that the staff strongly recommends is fishing! Yes, fishing. Yay! I caught a sea bream weighing about 2 kg. And since I caught it myself, it was a 550 yen discount including tax. You can choose from sashimi, salt-grilled, simmered, tempura, and carpaccio. I was attracted to the salt-grilled, but if you want to taste the freshness, sashimi is the way to go. The fresh, bouncy texture that bounces off your teeth. Refreshing yet packed with flavor.
