This is the time when I often feel like I want to spend a leisurely lunch on my day off. Especially if the atmosphere of the restaurant is like that, I tend to feel that way even more. The restaurant I want to introduce this time is "Bonjour Shokudo", which is popular and crowded with customers one after another, so you can't really relax, but there is a space that makes you feel that way. As the name suggests, they serve French cuisine, and the interior of the restaurant evokes a cafe in a French town, allowing you to indulge in a slow holiday mood while nibbling on popular lunch menus. The location of the restaurant is in Shiohara, Minami-ku, Fukuoka City. It is located along Nisseki Street, right near Ohashi. Therefore, the access to the restaurant is very convenient as it is just a short walk from Ohashi Station on the Nishitetsu train line. Since there is no parking lot, if you come by car, use a coin parking lot. When you walk along Nisseki Street, you will see a large green sign and a cafe-like exterior. The name of the restaurant, "Bonjour Shokudo," is also written prominently. So you will find it easily. There is also an old menu blackboard at the entrance of the restaurant. Since it's this time of year, there are also take-out menu items available. Although it's a bit hard to see, there is also a terrace seat behind the blackboard. There are posters and flyers all over the walls when you enter the restaurant, giving you the feeling of being in a foreign eatery. The seat spacing inside is narrow, but the tables are covered with cute red checkered tablecloths, creating a charming atmosphere. The BGM playing in the restaurant is a French radio broadcast, making you feel like you're dining in a French cafe. The lunch menu was on the blackboard as mentioned earlier, and also on the table. There is a daily special (chicken couscous) and other items like Cassoulet, roast young chicken, and actually, there was also a rump steak behind the daily special, but since it was hidden as a daily special, I didn't order it. (If I had known, I might have ordered it...) There are also additional dessert and drink sets available for an extra charge. Also, being a French restaurant, they offer alcohol as well. There is a wide selection of wines. Although it's a bit hard to see, there is also a dinner menu. What I ordered this time was the chicken couscous for lunch with a drink set. (900 yen + 110 yen) By the way, couscous is a type of pasta and is said to be the smallest pasta in the world. When I ordered, the first thing that was brought was water. The water is served in a bottle, which adds to the stylish feel. And then, the lunch was served. It was generously filled with vegetables, and the vegetables stand out more than the chicken. The flavor is tomato-based, and the couscous has a texture more like rice than pasta, similar to risotto. Since there are many vegetables, it gives a healthy impression. This is the chili pepper with a hint of shiso-like flavor that came with it. My wife ordered the popular Cassoulet for lunch. The Cassoulet is a baguette sandwich as written on the menu, and it looks delicious. I also had a bit, and the baguette was delicious, and the white fish fry was crispy and good. Truly a popular item. The potatoes that came with it were also great! The saltiness was just right and it was delicious. Finally, the espresso drink. I don't usually drink this, but it was delicious in this kind of place with this atmosphere. My wife ordered the dessert set, banana tart. The amount was just right, and I didn't feel overly full, but it was nice to be able to eat slowly in this kind of place with this atmosphere. Truly a feeling of a holiday lunch, and that's what I was looking for, so it was a popular restaurant with customers coming one after another. Dinner seems to be popular too, so I would like to visit for dinner someday and enjoy a leisurely meal with a glass of wine.
