Wandering new curry mania / rookie ramen mania, a solo middle-aged man. This is a memo-like review. If you are looking for concise information about the restaurant and food, please move on to other reviews. The second day of consecutive summer days. It's still early July, but compared to the scorching heat in various parts of Honshu, it's quite tough for people in Hokkaido. So, I didn't have any plans for this Sunday. Although we lost the game, I got to see Ohtani's 32nd home run, so that's good. But then I started feeling hungry. Alright, it's hot, so I won't go far. I searched for a nice new restaurant and found this place. Oh! As a curry enthusiast who still has a lot to learn, the menu here is intriguing! It seems like they serve dishes with a "mountainous" or "mountain-shaped" presentation. They top it with braised pork or shrimp. Quite impressive. And all this for around 800 yen including tax, even better. They also have unique dumplings with a red and black skin color, which I've never seen before. It seems like a place where players have visited in the past. Other Chinese dishes on the menu also seem to be well-received. I have to go and try it out. The location is in Nishi Ward, Miyanosawa 1-1. It was a bit confusing to find the place. I arrived at the building name, but couldn't find the restaurant... Oh no, did they close down? I thought, as I walked back and forth, but there was no sign of it. Just to be sure, I went around the back and there it was. Please note that it's not at the entrance of the rental MS building. It's located near Sun Stage Miyanosawa, so please look for the sign on the right side as you walk from Bentos and head towards the 24-ken Teine Street from the Nishiyu. There were about 10 people in the restaurant. I was seated at the counter. Ah, the small fan on the table is a lifesaver. Now, let's take a look at the menu. Oh no, the prices have gone up... Not by much, but still. Well, it can't be helped. Ingredients, cooking oil, utilities, everything has gone up. The latest menu image was from June this year, so I thought it would be okay, but it seems things have changed a bit. I ordered the Braised Pork Fried Rice and Grilled Dumplings (3 pieces) for 1,260 yen including tax (920 yen + 340 yen). They asked if I was okay with the amount of fried rice. I remembered seeing leftover fried rice on the raised platform that hadn't been finished. I left quite a bit, so I should be fine. I haven't experienced the actual portion size, so I don't know who will eat it, but I'm feeling hungry despite the heat, so I should be okay. The dishes were served in about 10 minutes after ordering. The previous customer's order hadn't been served yet. I was served the Braised Pork Fried Rice, which looked quite generous with three slices of braised pork on top. It was like a "mound" or a "deep and large bowl" of fried rice with a mountain-like shape. Now, let's start with the braised pork. Oh, it was tender and had a jelly-like texture. It seemed like the fat hadn't completely melted away, but there was no strong smell or taste, and the seasoning was to my liking. The braising sauce drizzled on top was also nice. Now, let's try the fried rice. Hmm, it's not too moist, but not too dry either. The rice is slightly soft, which might be why. When I took a spoonful, it was surprisingly light. Maybe because the rice is a bit soft. It's not too oily or salty, just right.
