Today's Spicy Adventure: Shibuya Station Sichuan Spicy Hot Pot. Shibuya Hoshikuzu Club. Spiciness Level: ★★★★★☆☆☆☆☆ (6). Spicy adventure in Shibuya! Visited a trendy Sichuan hot pot restaurant in Shibuya. The interior had a neon vibe with mostly female customers (though there were some men too). You can order by scanning a QR code with your smartphone, so you can leave the restaurant without saying a word, making it great for shy people. The ordering process is simple: 1. Choose your soup. 2. Select your noodles. 3. Pick at least 5 toppings. That's it! You can choose the level of spiciness for the soup. I went for the spiciest herbal soup, but there are milder options too. The most popular noodles are the flat glass noodles, which I also chose. There are over 60 toppings to choose from! I picked broccoli, tofu skin, shiitake mushrooms, cilantro, chrysanthemum greens, and wood ear mushrooms. The toppings for Sichuan hot pot tend to be similar, right? If you have any recommendations, please let me know. After a while, the hot pot arrived, with plenty of cilantro which made me happy. The soup had a strong herbal flavor, and the spiciness kept building up as I ate. It made me feel warm inside, almost like my body was heating up. Or maybe I'm starting to feel a bit of stomach ache, haha. It wasn't as spicy as I expected, but there was a slight stomach ache, so I rated the spiciness a bit higher. The glass noodles were chewy and surprisingly filling. With plenty of vegetables, it's healthy yet satisfying. I enjoyed changing the flavor with the black vinegar, chili oil, and fermented tofu paste on the table. Having black vinegar and fermented tofu paste on the table is a sign of a trustworthy place.

The only place in Shibuya where you can enjoy medicinal cuisine alone. I was introduced by a friend and have been hooked ever since. As written in the store, it's highly addictive. I feel healthy just by eating this once a day. You can choose your toppings and soup, and there are 4-5 types of noodles to choose from. It's fun to think about what to eat next! The fish roe dumplings were too delicious.

I can easily go in alone and it's my favorite right now!! Most people come alone too! You choose everything from the soup, spiciness, ingredients, and drinks one by one! Each item is usually between 100 yen and 200 yen! I keep adding ingredients and it usually costs over 2000 yen! I recommend medium or extra spicy for the spiciness, and the taste is really delicious. As the name suggests, it's like a beauty treatment for eating, you sweat so much you might lose weight. By the way, the recommended ingredient is like a fish egg bun! The fish eggs pop out and are deliciously crunchy. The soup is not junky, it's really herbal, refreshing, and tasty. It might not be enough for people who like the taste of MSG. It was really delicious for me.

I visited the restaurant late after leaving the hair salon in Shibuya. Since it was a late hour, I decided to go for a healthy option and customized my meal with low-carb corn noodles! I was very hungry, so I added extra meat and cilantro topping. I liked that I could customize my meal by reading the menu on my phone and choosing my favorite ingredients. The portion was good, and I left feeling full. The corn noodles themselves didn't have much flavor, but they tasted delicious when mixed with the soup. Towards the end, the staff seemed to be in a hurry to close, but I understand it's part of the job. I would like to try a different menu next time.

This is a small shop located on the main street in Shibuya, straight ahead towards Udagawa-cho, just before reaching the drugstore. You can choose from a variety of items on the menu such as soup and noodles to suit your taste, or simply order a popular item from the menu. Highly recommended for those who like spicy food.

You can choose the spiciness level and type of noodles. You also get to choose at least 5 toppings. There are so many toppings to choose from that it can be overwhelming, but it's a fun place where you can enjoy multiple visits. The atmosphere reminded me of Taiwan. It's nice that you get a free bowl of rice. The staff is very kind - they even chased after me to remove my paper apron (laughs). It's a great place for a Shibuya date!

I love it because it's spicy and you can change the taste with unlimited additional toppings! Even though each additional topping costs about 100 yen, I keep adding more and end up spending around 3000 yen each time haha. My favorite topping is fish roe dumplings! When you bite into them, the little roe bursts out and it's delicious! It's like a spa treatment while eating! I sweat a lot but finish every last bit.

Arrived before 12 o'clock on Saturday. Center Gai is a hot spot for spicy hot pot because there is also Yang Guofu. They will teach you how to order for first-timers. Order soup, noodles, and at least 5 toppings using a QR code. See the image for the order details (laughs). Had to wait a little bit. They gave me a paper apron. The soup was the typical kind. The medium spicy soup was just average in terms of spiciness. The staff seemed to be Japanese. Couldn't hear any Chinese, but the BGM in the store was C-POP (laughs). Two songs were playing for some reason, not sure which one to listen to (laughs). Turns out one was playing outside the store. With this, I have conquered the spicy hot pot in Shibuya. Can't mention the recommended store here (laughs).

The spicy hot pot trend continues with the popularity of Ma La Tang. Ma La Tang, originating from Sichuan Province in China, is a hot and numbing spicy soup, like a simplified version of hot pot for one person. "Ma" refers to the numbing sensation from Sichuan peppercorns, "La" refers to the spiciness from chili peppers, and "Tang" refers to the soup. In China, it is actually written as Ma La "Tang" instead of Ma La "Tang." The word "Tang" means "hot enough to burn," which is a bit different from Japan. The restaurant has a vibrant exterior with stainless steel tables, giving off a street food vibe from Asia. With 6 types of soup, 5 types of noodles, and over 60 ingredients to choose from, you can customize your meal based on your mood or cravings. However, the soup, which contains over 30 types of Chinese medicinal herbs, is surprisingly mild in flavor and may not be satisfying for locals.

You can choose from 6 types of soups, including non-spicy options, making it easy to go with people who don't like spicy food. There are 5 types of noodles to choose from, and this time I tried the "board cellophane noodles," which are like thick vermicelli. The amazing thing about this restaurant is that you can choose from 60 different ingredients for your toppings! It's so many options that it's hard to decide...! They even have rare duck blood, which is a nice lineup! I ordered the "medicinal spicy" soup, and it was just the right amount of spiciness, so I finished it in no time. It was also delicious to add an egg and rice at the end to make a porridge. I would like to visit this restaurant again when I crave spicy noodles. Overall rating: ★★★★

It's great that you can quickly order and enjoy your favorite noodles in one plate after the peak hours. I always add bean sprouts and green vegetables to my glass noodle dish. I can't resist coming back for more. Ordering and payment are done smoothly on my smartphone, making it a convenient option for a quick meal when you're short on time.

This is my second visit to the restaurant, but my first time inside. I wanted to try the extremely spicy soup so I ordered it without noodles. There were many toppings to choose from, so it was a bit hard to decide. I ordered chicken meat but it turned out to be pork meat. However, I like that you can customize your order based on your mood that day, so I would like to visit again.

A delicious restaurant for your body♪ I went there to escape the summer heat. It's great that you can choose 5 toppings. I chose bean sprouts, cilantro, white wood ear mushrooms, seasoned egg, and pork. The noodles are thin and chewy like glass noodles. The soup is herbal and seems good for your body. Even though it's very spicy, it's so delicious that it becomes addictive. I love that they have black vinegar available. There was a sign saying that the staff in front of the store lost 4kg, I wonder how often you have to eat to lose weight. The staff are attentive, even providing aprons due to concerns about water. The food is served quickly. The only problem is that the chili oil tends to get around your mouth every time you eat the noodles... I wish they could make it spicier without adding more chili oil, but I was too scared to ask.

I finally visited the Maratang specialty shop located deep inside Shibuya Center Street that I've been curious about for a while. The ordering process is done through a QR code on the table, with the option of ordering the chef's choice for 980 yen or customizing your order with a minimum of five ingredients and a minimum spend of 980 yen. It's mostly cashless, so be prepared for that. Choosing from six types of soup and about 60 different noodles and toppings can be a bit overwhelming for first-timers. The serving time is surprisingly long considering it's not crowded. The portion size is quite generous, but my bowl felt a bit empty as I didn't add any meat. The garlic, however, was abundant. The soup was mildly spicy, but I added some Sichuan pepper and black vinegar from the table to enhance the flavor. I wanted to add more vegetables, but each addition came at an additional cost, so I ended up spending over 1000 yen. I opted for a lighter spice level, which paired well with the cream soda I ordered. The cream soda was a bit bland, and the combination of spicy and sweet was not ideal. It might be better to enjoy the drink separately as a dessert. Despite the price point being over 1000 yen, the place was still attracting a younger crowd even past 10 pm. Overall, it was a unique dining experience in Shibuya.

In recent years, Sichuan cuisine, which has been gaining attention with dishes like mapo tofu and dan dan noodles, has matured into a more specialized trend. I decided to visit a restaurant that offers "mala tang," originating from Sichuan's street food scene. The restaurant, called "Shibuya Seisei Club," had a vibrant exterior with neon lights and a layout reminiscent of a Chinese street stall. Inside, stainless steel tables added to the authentic atmosphere. The small restaurant had 6 tables with 12 seats and a 7-seat counter, and it quickly filled up with customers. The menu allowed customers to customize their soup base, spiciness level, and toppings. I chose a medium-spicy herbal soup with thin glass noodles, along with toppings like fish ball, meatball, shrimp dumpling, seasoned egg, bean sprouts, and chives. The soup had a pleasant herbal aroma and a gradual heat that made me sweat a bit as I ate. The low-calorie glass noodles seemed to boost my metabolism. While the meal was delicious, there was a customer who was taking photos in various poses throughout the restaurant, which was a bit distracting. Overall, I enjoyed the meal but hoped for better etiquette from both customers and the restaurant staff.

I visited the specialty restaurant "Seisei Club" in the Dotonbori area, about a 7-minute walk from Shibuya Station. Their Sichuan-style spicy hot pot is made with over 30 types of Chinese medicinal herbs, which are said to be excellent for beauty and health! The staff at the restaurant even lost 4 kilograms in just one month. Following their recommendation, I chose the medicinal herb soup (380 yen) which is extremely spicy, and paired it with the "board glass noodles" (150g/100 yen) known for their diuretic effect. For toppings, I selected the staff's recommended combination of pork slices (40g/100 yen), flavored egg (100 yen), shrimp dumplings (2 pieces/100 yen), wood ear mushrooms (35g/100 yen), Chinese broccoli (40g/100 yen), and cherry tomatoes (3 pieces/100 yen) (order via mobile). The spiciness was intense, but the warmth spread through my body instantly, and the unique deliciousness made it hard to stop eating. The glass noodles were chewy and satisfying. The cherry tomatoes were unexpectedly delicious, so I should have ordered more. Adding black vinegar from the table made the spiciness more mellow. They also offer a free bowl of rice, which I didn't try this time. I also ordered a cream soda (580 yen) after the meal, which helped soothe the tingling sensation from the Sichuan peppercorns. I can't wait to go back to this place again soon!

You can order by scanning a QR code from the menu. I chose the "medicinal spicy" soup and corn noodles, which were delicious and healthy. The shop also serves a delicious cream soda that complements the spiciness of the hot pot. It's a place where even women can easily dine alone.

The restaurant feels like a time slip to a city in Taiwan or China, creating a sense of anticipation for the food. The soup made with Chinese medicinal herbs has a rich depth and the spiciness leaves a lingering aftertaste. For those who don't like spicy food, you can adjust the level of spiciness or add black vinegar for a delicious taste. The chewy glass noodles have a great texture. Recommended for women concerned about calories or for when you overate the day before.
