We went out for lunch as a family on a regular day. My wife had reserved a 5,500 yen course menu for us. Each dish was delicious, especially the edamame soup which had a fresh taste. The beef steak was also satisfying and had a good portion size. Since my birthday was coming up, I was surprised with a cake at the end. Considering the quality of the food for the price, I think it's a great value. I would love to go back for special occasions or even just for a regular meal.

Today, here! A generous portion for 1500 yen, you'll be full! Comes with coffee☕ or tea! The rice is corn butter rice, goes really well with the tender charcoal-grilled pork! Green pea soup!! Delicious. Reservations are recommended! There is a parking lot nearby where you can park for 100 yen per 60 minutes.

I ordered a 2200 yen steak set with appetizer, baguette, and soup included, plus a 770 yen dessert. I asked to have pate de campagne for the appetizer and requested if they could split the pork ginger and steak in half. The unique sauce for the pork ginger was delicious and I preferred it over the beef. I would like to eat it with rice. The appetizers, including the pate de campagne, were also very delicious. It's a great deal for both lunch and dinner.

- Charcoal-grilled Pork Ginger for 1,500 yen - Charcoal-grilled Beef Steak with Fried Potatoes, A Course (includes salad, bread, coffee) - By chance, I was looking for lunch around Hirao and happened to pass by, so I decided to visit and miraculously there was an available seat - The interior of the restaurant is classic-style, a bit narrow - The most famous dish is the charcoal-grilled Pork Ginger, which I thought was a Western-style ginger pork, but it has quite a deep flavor - I enjoyed it by generously topping the homemade mayonnaise under the pork with rice that has a buttery aroma - The sauce for the Beef Steak was also incredibly delicious

I visited "Bistro Pic Picd'or" in Shirokan, Chuo-ku. I ordered the Charcoal-Grilled Pork Ginger (1,200 yen). Although I had been there for dinner before, I had never been for lunch and had always wanted to try their pork ginger. The table seats near the entrance were full, mostly with women. I was seated at the counter. I hesitated between the daily lunch special and the pork ginger, but I stuck to my initial choice. I watched as dishes were prepared and served efficiently. After a few minutes of waiting, the dishes started arriving one after another. First, I had broccoli and chickpea soup, which was delicious and warmed my hungry stomach. Then came the main dish of charcoal-grilled pork ginger and butter rice. The pork was about 1 cm thick and incredibly large. I couldn't contain my excitement. The pork was perfectly cooked, with a charcoal aroma enhancing its flavor. It was tender and juicy, and the ginger sauce and homemade mayonnaise added even more depth to the taste. The combination of the pork and butter rice was outstanding. I devoured every last bit of sauce and mayonnaise with a spoon. It was a delicious meal.

In the past, there was a restaurant called "Grill Mame no Ki" where the hamburg steak was highly recommended. Five years later, the restaurant moved and changed its name to "Bistro Pick Dole". I decided to visit the restaurant and walked from Nishitetsu Hirao Station to the Shirokane intersection using navigation. It was 11:40, and there was already a line at the popular ramen shop on the corner. Unfortunately, the hamburg steak that was the talk of the town was no longer on the menu at the new restaurant. Inside, there were four 4-person tables in the front and a counter with 4 seats facing the kitchen in the back. The service was a bit impersonal, but I was seated at the counter. I decided not to order beer or wine due to the high prices. I chose the Charcoal-Grilled Pork Ginger set which came with soup, rice, and coffee. The corn cream soup was delicious, and the pork ginger had a good flavor, although it was a bit greasy towards the end. The chef, who did not wear a mask, prepared the food silently. Overall, the lunch was decent but lacked a sense of hospitality, and I had to keep my bag on my lap throughout the meal. After finishing the coffee, I left feeling like it was a solo dining experience. Thank you for the meal.

This time, I visited Pick Doll in Shirokane, Fukuoka for a farewell party at night. It was an amazing restaurant recommended by the top user of rei. The menu this time was a course with all-you-can-drink for 6000 yen (tax included). There were supposed to be 7 dishes including dessert, but it seemed like there were even more! We started with champagne and the dishes included grilled fish, pork, and many more. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. The owner was unexpectedly funny and made the atmosphere lively. We ended the meal with cake and coffee, feeling very satisfied. I must go back for lunch next time. I visited this restaurant for lunch once and was impressed by the deliciousness of the "Ginger Pork", so I decided to revisit for dinner. Since it was during a state of emergency, alcohol was not served, but I decided to enjoy the food. There were various courses available, but on the day of my visit, there was a great value course available on a coupon site, so I chose that. First, I had a plate of prosciutto as an appetizer, followed by a beautifully arranged vegetable salad with balsamic sauce. Next, I tried a small and neatly presented dish of fried thread-skin sea bream with mashed potatoes and green sauce. I forgot the exact contents of the green sauce, but it complemented the various vegetables well. The next course was a green pea potage soup, which I enjoyed for its cold, flavorful taste, but my wife, who dislikes peas, did not like it. The slightly thick pasta bolognese that came next was meaty and to my liking. It had a generous sprinkling of cheese, giving it a strong presence. Although the portion seemed small at first, it was quite filling. I savored the remaining sauce with the delicious baguette from the previous lunch. Feeling quite full, the main course of charcoal-grilled Japanese beef arrived. It was a modest portion as part of the course, but the quality and flavor were satisfying. The meat had a strong charcoal-grilled aroma that made it very enjoyable. After the main course, I had dessert and coffee. The dessert was a chocolate cake, which I'm not particularly fond of, so I would have preferred a refreshing gelato instead. Overall, it was a satisfying second visit with delicious food. Thank you for the meal.

In June 2021, I was curious and couldn't resist checking out this place - of course, aiming for some spice! As usual, the coin parking near here was almost full, after circling around, I finally managed to park and arrived just before noon. The restaurant was quite popular, with about 70% of the tables occupied. The interior was cute and had a cozy European-style atmosphere, like something out of a movie. Although I was tempted by something slightly different on the menu, I stuck to my original plan and ordered the "Black Beef Curry" (1200 yen) with salad and coffee included. First, the salad arrived, and it was quite a generous portion, with a black sesame dressing and delicate broccoli sprouts. After finishing the salad, the main curry dish was served. It was a large plate with black curry, featuring chunks of cheek meat that were amazing. Trying just the curry roux, I could taste the sweetness of vegetables and fruits, with a gentle European-style flavor. The cheek meat was so tender that it crumbled easily with a spoon, offering a rich Demi-Glace-like umami taste. The rice was subtly colored and cooked with butter, carrots, and bay leaves. It wasn't stir-fried, so the gentle butter flavor complemented the curry well. I noticed small whole cumin seeds in the curry, adding a nice crunchy texture. The spiciness was mild, leaving a slight lingering heat after finishing the meal, but the concentrated flavors in the curry were delightful. Enjoying a leisurely coffee after the meal was a nice touch. It seemed that a couple of menu items were already sold out by late morning, possibly due to the popularity of the place. It's definitely recommended to visit before noon if you have a specific menu item in mind. The neighboring Pork Ginger dish has become a must-try for my next visit!

I had always been curious about a restaurant that was chosen as the number one lunch spot in 2020 on a local radio program, but it was in an area where I rarely visited. So, my wife and I decided to challenge it for a Saturday lunch and visited the Western-style restaurant "Pickdoll" in Shirokane, Chuo-ku. We called in advance to confirm if they were closed, and they kindly offered to reserve a table for us. We arrived a bit late, but they still welcomed us warmly. There were only two women customers before us, so we were seated at a table with an acrylic board divider. As planned, I ordered the "Charcoal-Grilled Pork Ginger Set Meal" for 1,200 yen. Soon after, a cold green pea soup was served. It had a nice bean flavor, but since my wife doesn't like green peas, I had both servings. Then, a small portion of rice arrived. Upon closer inspection, I noticed something mixed in with the rice. When I asked, I was told that it was flavored with carrots and bay leaves. The attention to detail was impressive. As we waited for the main dish, the charcoal-grilled pork ginger arrived. The pork, about 1 cm thick, was grilled over charcoal and generously topped with ginger and onion sauce, making it very appetizing. The meat was so tender that it cut smoothly with a knife. When I took a bite, I could taste the smoky flavor of the charcoal-grilled meat along with the tenderness, and the sweet sauce complemented it well. Honestly, I had expected a simple ginger pork dish, but this was a splendid charcoal-grilled pork steak. The portion of meat and vegetables on the side was quite generous, and I think even a woman would be satisfied. For some reason, there was mayonnaise hidden under the meat, so I enjoyed changing the flavor as I ate. Oh, it was really delicious! Finally, I had a cup of coffee, and the satisfying lunchtime came to an end. I almost missed the chocolate on the spoon when I mixed the coffee. The lunch, which had a good reputation, was indeed above expectations. Thanks to this experience, I would like to visit again. Thank you for the wonderful meal~.

Today, I was in the mood for pizza and was aiming for a specialty pizza shop. However, when I arrived, I found out that they are only open on weekends, so they were closed. I should have checked beforehand, especially during this emergency situation. I was frustrated, but also hungry. I searched on Tabelog for nearby options and found a hit. It turned out that a popular grill restaurant called Mame no Ki had moved to the area and I had not visited it yet. I regained my composure and walked while looking at the map. When I saw a car in the parking lot in front of the restaurant, I walked past it at first. But then I turned back and cautiously peeked inside, and luckily they were open. It was 1:30 PM, so I opened the door and entered. I had to wait a bit for the previous customer's dishes to be cleared before being seated. The lunch menu was the same as Mame no Ki's, but unfortunately, dishes like Pork Ginger Curry were sold out (just like last time), so I ended up ordering the steak, which was what I wanted anyway. The restaurant had counter seats and table seats, with a capacity about half of what it used to be. I ordered the steak set meal (1680 yen) and added a set with soup and coffee (1980 yen). They served water in a decanter. First, I had a vegetable salad and a bright green chilled pea soup, which had a rich pea flavor. The steak was cooked on a gas stove just like in the Mame no Ki days, and it had the same delicious flavor. The bread was the same Moropan bread, which was tasty. I wonder if I could have gotten a refill on the bread. The coffee was average, but it came with a small piece of chocolate. When I looked up Mame no Ki, I realized that I had visited it four years ago. The generous portion size reminded me of those times. Since I was the only one in the restaurant after eating, I boldly took some photos inside. They accept payment with GOTO Eat tickets, so I paid with one ticket and 980 yen. I wish I could have added some alcohol if I could drink.

I had been curious about this place for a while, so I decided to have lunch here. When I arrived, a female staff member asked me how many people and I said "just one." She told me to wait a moment as they were just finishing up, and then she escorted me inside. While looking at a large pig figurine on the floor, I ordered the Pork Ginger set meal for 1200 yen. The same staff member who greeted me was handling the whole dining area by herself, but she was very cheerful and pleasant. First, the soup arrived, which was a cold green pea soup. I usually don't like canned or frozen peas, but a few years ago I had fresh peas and found them delicious. The soup had a rich flavor and sweetness that I enjoyed. Next, the rice was served, followed by the Pork Ginger dish. The meat was very generous in portion and about 1cm thick, tender and flavorful with a charcoal-grilled aroma. The sauce was slightly sweet with a hint of ginger, but the charcoal aroma stood out the most. Despite appearing heavily seasoned, the sauce was actually mild, allowing the flavor of the meat to shine through. The dish was different from what I had imagined as Pork Ginger, but it was still very delicious as a pork dish. I had a hot coffee with a small piece of chocolate to finish the meal. Although I didn't get to see the owner at work this time, he exuded an aura of confidence when I paid the bill, saying "I make delicious food!" I look forward to returning with my husband to try the charcoal-grilled steak and perhaps enjoy some wine with meat dishes in the evening. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

I decided to try this restaurant after seeing the menu placed outside while passing by. I found out that this place used to be called "Kuriru Mame no Ki" in a nearby location and I had dined there once at night before. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is casual. Although I was tempted by the hamburgers, I was feeling tired so I opted for the steak to get some nutrition (lol). I chose the "Beef Steak Lunch (1980 yen including tax)" which came with salad, soup, bread, and coffee. The cold pumpkin soup had a slight sweetness from the pumpkin but was otherwise ordinary. The salad had a tasty dressing. The Kampagne bread from Takamiya "Moropan" was served warm and was delicious. The charcoal-grilled steak seemed to be seasoned with parsley, garlic, and butter based on its appearance. The meat was a bit bland for my taste, so I wished it had more flavor. The steak turned out to be around 150-160g, with a slightly chewy texture (probably sirloin) and a normal taste. It was cooked to a medium-rare level. The coffee was included in the lunch set, which was a bit pricey for a weekday business lunch, but the portion was generous. It might be a good choice when you're in the mood for meat.

I visited on Sunday afternoon. I came to try the Black Beef Curry that I had been curious about for a while. First, a salad was served. It was delicious with a tangy dressing. Then the main curry arrived. It was pitch black with a strong spice flavor and a slight bitterness to the roux. It was a unique tasting curry. A big piece of meat was placed on top, and I enjoyed it by shredding it with a knife and fork. It was so tender.

I had lunch at "BISTRO Picdor" in Takasago, where they were doing exterior renovations. The restaurant used to be called "Grill Mame no Ki" but it changed its name and location. I had heard from followers that their "Pork Ginger" was delicious, so I was eager to try it. The cold beer was refreshing after a long walk, and the chilled edamame soup was tasty. The "Pork Ginger" was different from what I had imagined, with thick grilled meat and a delicious sauce. The mayonnaise sauce underneath added a nice touch to the flavor. Most people were enjoying meat dishes, which looked tempting. I would love to try them next time. Overall, it was a delightful dining experience. Thank you for the meal!

Popular restaurant "Grill Mamenoki" has been relocated within the same area and reopened as "Bistro Pic d'or". I visited for lunch on a Sunday. The lunch menu sign outside the restaurant was the same as when it was Grill Mamenoki (laughs). The interior of the restaurant is smaller, brighter, and more modern compared to when it was Grill Mamenoki. As I was dining alone, I was seated at the counter seat closest to the kitchen. The lunch menu was the same as before, featuring charcoal-grilled beef steak, freshly ground Mamenoki hamburger, grilled pork with ginger, and black beef curry. I was in the mood for meat that day, so I ordered the charcoal-grilled beef steak (comes with salad, bread, coffee, tax included for 1620 yen) and added a soup (+380 yen). First, the salad was served, followed by the additional soup, which was pumpkin soup. Then, the charcoal-grilled beef steak arrived with French fries underneath. The steak was sirloin (200g) and had a chewy and meaty texture. The sauce was a parsley, garlic, and butter sauce, with a strong garlic flavor that was suitable for a holiday. I finished with a cup of coffee. I look forward to trying the black beef curry next time at Bistro Pic d'or. P.S. On this day, the owner and chef, Jack, did not cook but watched over the young apprentice who was in charge of the cooking. P.S. Even after the relocation, the lunch prices remain the same. Well done.

Newly opened Bistro Picd'or in Fukuoka City, Chuo Ward on February 17, 2019 (Sunday). I visited Bistro Picd'or. It is located near Shirogane intersection, with a checkerboard-like cityscape. This new restaurant, which opened on February 5th, used to be the relocated Grill Mame no Ki with a name change. There are table seats lined up from the entrance to the back, and at the very back, there are counter seats in front of the kitchen. The counter seats may get a bit smoky due to the cooking. There are five lunch menu options. I ordered the Charcoal-Grilled Pork Ginger for 1,080 yen (tax included). First came the soup, a pumpkin soup with a slightly sweet pumpkin flavor that was delicious. The main dish, Pork Ginger, came with rice that had a faint flavor and red bits scattered throughout. The pork was generously seasoned and delicious. Lastly, coffee was served with just a chocolate snack, no sugar or milk. It seems like black coffee is the norm these days. However, the black coffee with chocolate was delicious. 1-9-8 Shirogane, Chuo Ward, Fukuoka City. Closed on Mondays.
