I wanted to eat motsunabe even in Tenjin. I prefer miso flavor. But I wanted a place where it's okay to order for just one person. And if possible, I also wanted to try another specialty dish besides motsunabe, but not seafood. With my research, the only place that met these selfish conditions was Tomehane. So, I made a reservation and visited the restaurant. This choice was definitely the right one! It was my first time trying Tomehane, and the salt-flavored dish was really delicious! I live in Fukuoka but had only been to a famous restaurant in Nagoya for chicken wings (laughs), but I definitely prefer Tomehane over that place! I finished the motsunabe for one person, so I couldn't have seconds due to my stomach condition, but I would definitely want more if I could. Oh, of course, the motsunabe was also delicious. Before boiling the ingredients, there were yuzu zest rolled into balls on top, and after simmering, it mixed into the soup, which I liked because I enjoy citrus flavors. It's a shame that there are no Tomehane branches near where I live, but I would definitely want to visit again if I have the chance.

I didn't have high expectations because it's a chain restaurant, but the chicken wings were really delicious! Plus, it was half price that day, so I was even happier! The other menu items besides the chicken wings were just like any regular izakaya, so they were okay. But if you're going just for the chicken wings, I recommend it!

Visited Hakata Dontaku during Golden Week with a friend. We were told that they only take table reservations, not counter seating. The staff seemed overwhelmed and there were shortages of ingredients like eggs and tomatoes. Despite the chaos, we enjoyed the chicken wings and motsunabe. The food was satisfying and the prices were reasonable compared to Tokyo. However, the overall experience was a bit stressful, so we decided not to return for another visit.

I ordered the salted boiled edamame and a drink, that's all I need. I am addicted to it and crave it regularly. I want to steal the recipe someday.

It's a chain store, but the interior is spacious. The food is quite good and the alcohol menu is also nice. The staff are attentive and the overall atmosphere is very likeable. It truly feels like a good izakaya in Fukuoka.

Stop and try the chicken wings! Just like the name suggests, once you start eating them, you won't be able to stop! They come in salt and sauce flavors. Perfect with beer! I couldn't resist the sauce, but the salt flavor is really delicious. It goes great with beer. We also ordered mentaiko tamagoyaki and edamame, but the chicken wings were the best. They have a campaign going on now where the number of chicken wings you ate in September can be redeemed for free in November. In other words, you can eat the same number of chicken wings for free in November that you ate in September. It's a great opportunity! The chicken wings were so delicious. Thank you for the meal.

At the second party, we had Izumi's Tometeba wings. It was actually my first time trying Tometeba wings! While the conversation was lively, I couldn't stop eating as I'm a foodie. The Tometeba wings were light and crispy, and I felt like I could eat as many as I wanted. Surprisingly, the pickled vegetables were delicious, and everyone was eating about three plates as snacks. Also, the spicy lotus root tempura and dashimaki tamago were delicious. As the conversation reached a touching finale, the party ended. Thank you for the meal!

I tried takeout from "Tomehane Imaizumi Store," which has won the highest gold award for 7 consecutive years. It seems that this award is different from the usual awards. If you don't continue to win the highest gold award, you may need to make corrections to banners and POPs like this. I had already made a reservation for takeout, so I went to the store on the 2nd floor of the building to pay only to be called out loudly by someone. When I turned around, I saw a drinking party from a different department of my workplace. I left the store with a slightly complicated feeling while watching them having fun.
I had the salt flavor and sweet sauce (both 160 yen each) with the Tomehane, which has won the highest gold award for 7 consecutive years, in one hand, and shochu or whiskey in the other. I always choose between the two based on my mood for my evening drink. I think I'll go with Kuro Kirishima with the chicken wings - I prefer the salt flavor over the sweet sauce! Today, I enjoyed the salt flavor, but the takeout Tomehane, which had cooled down, was only half as delicious as eating it in the store. Tomehane should definitely be eaten at the restaurant. ⚠️

When returning to Fukuoka, the dish I crave for the most is the fried chicken wings from Torikawa no Tameba. Although there are branches in Tokyo as well, I was worried about the taste being different, so I decided to eat it in my hometown. The highlight of this place is definitely the fried chicken wings. The outside is crispy with a salty flavor and a fragrant sauce, and the signboard boasting a gold award is not just for show. It pairs perfectly with alcohol. However, I must admit that I only eat the fried chicken wings at this restaurant. The other dishes are just average. But the fried chicken wings are definitely worth trying (^_-)-☆ Eating fried chicken wings can be tricky because they are hot, so be cautious if you are not confident in your ability to handle hot food. I recommend going with friends or colleagues! Thank you for the meal.

Last weekend, I used this place for a company drinking party♪ It's about a 1-minute walk from Nishitetsu Tenjin Station, so the access is good. I think there are also Tomehaba branches in Hakata and Kokura♪ It was my first visit here! We ordered a lot of Amahaba and Tomehaba, and enjoyed them together♪ I tried my best to eat the chicken wings, but I couldn't quite master it (lol). However, the staff kindly taught me the trick. As for the chicken wings, I recommend the Amahaba!! It had a slightly sweet and spicy flavor, and the skin was fragrant. There were many other menu items that caught my eye as well. The seating is spacious, so it's good for events like parties. Thank you for the meal!

[Tometeba] Tomehane Imazumi Store @ Tenjin, Fukuoka, July 7, 2012
I had a sudden craving for chicken wings, so I visited this place. They have won the gold prize in the chicken wings department of the Karaage Grand Prix. As I went up to the second floor, I could hear the lively voices of the staff. The seats were almost full, so I sat at the counter where I could see the kitchen. Here's the menu. Looks delicious! First, we have the appetizer. It's a green tea soba salad, which is quite voluminous, enough for 2-3 people. I mix it well with the mild onsen tamago (hot spring egg). Next, we have the renkon (lotus root) with spicy cod roe. The crispy texture of the renkon combined with the spicy cod roe flavor is delicious. Then, we have horse meat. It's very fresh and all of them are delicious. When you chew slowly, the umami flavor intensifies. And now, the sweet and savory chicken wings are here. They are skewered in a way that the wings are straight, making them easy to eat. The sweet and savory sauce really stimulates the appetite. These ones are salt-flavored, allowing you to enjoy the natural taste of the chicken. Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I couldn't stop eating them! In the end, I ended up eating 13 wings. Lastly, we have the chicken rice, cooked with chicken soup to make it soft. After enjoying the wings, I devoured the chicken rice. On my way out, I saw the signboard. Ate a lot!

After enjoying sushi at Sushizanmai, I wandered around Imazumi and stumbled upon a modern building with a big sign for chicken wings on the second floor. Could it be Tomehugasen, famous for their chicken wings? I had heard about this rapidly growing restaurant with about 8 locations near Tenjin and Hakata stations, so I decided to visit. It was still the last day of the long weekend at 6:30 pm, so it wasn't too crowded. I sat at the counter and looked at the menu. When I mentioned to the staff that I had just finished eating but still felt a bit hungry, they recommended their specialty chicken wings. I ordered two of each - the sweet and savory flavor and the salt flavor for 150 yen each. I also ordered a healthy green tea soba salad for 500 yen. The dishes arrived promptly, and I also tried their lotus root simmered in soy sauce for 300 yen. The salad had a surprisingly large portion, with lettuce and cabbage packed tightly at the bottom. The hot chicken wings were served, and a friendly staff member even showed me how to eat them, assuming I was a city person from Tokyo. After removing the skewer and pulling out the thin bones, I was shown how to break and pull out the thicker bone in the middle. Once the bones were removed, I simply enjoyed the crispy skin and flavorful meat. The manager and staff gathered around me, and we had a lively conversation. Although I don't drink alcohol, I only spent 1400 yen this time, which I felt was inadequate. Thank you for the meal, Tomehugasen. With 8 locations in Fukuoka, 6 in Tokyo, and expansions in Osaka, Kokura, Kumamoto, Nagasaki, and Kagoshima, they are now planning to enter the chicken wing capital of Nagoya. The CEO seems to be a very savvy business person, and I hope to meet them one day to learn their business secrets.

I went out for drinks with three former colleagues after a long time. We went to a restaurant called Tome Teba in Imaizumi, which was reserved by a friend from my previous company. The restaurant was surprisingly clean and had a trendy atmosphere. We started off with some draft beer, which was Heartland beer at this place. It was smooth and easy to drink. We ordered some deep-fried chicken wings with salt and sauce, and personally, I preferred the salted ones. They were delicious and juicy. Apparently, the deep-fried chicken wings here won some kind of award, which we found amusing. We also tried the pork foot stew for the first time, which had a miso-like flavor and tender pork feet. It was tasty. The champon noodles we had at the end were a bit too spicy as they were cooked down too much. Overall, the chicken wings at this place are really delicious.

First of all, despite the fact that they are singing about chicken wings, the chicken wings are not that tasty. "MUGEN" (a restaurant near Shojinbashi Street where you can eat and drink all you want for ¥2,100) is much more delicious. Also, the ¥2,980 course with all-you-can-drink option has very few dishes!!!! I was surprised. The course only has two chicken wings... The main meat dish, hormone and bean sprout stir-fry, is only about three bites per person... The rice for the final course is less than half a rice bowl... The all-you-can-drink option doesn't even include draft beer... Hmm, the interior of the restaurant is very nice, but that's the only thing worth praising.
