My hormones were out of balance and I was feeling extremely irritated at work, so on my way home from the office, I saw this cake shop that I always passed by and I immediately stopped my bike and rushed in to buy some cakes to indulge in. It's called "Gateau Julian" in the industrial area of Higashi-Osaka, where big trucks zoom by on the roads. It's a local shop that seems like it could be found in any town. Even though it was almost 8 pm, there were still quite a few options available, which was great. I couldn't wait until I got home (no matter how old I am, haha), so I decided to eat the cakes I bought - an eclair (150 yen), a cream puff (130 yen), and a fluffy biscuit (150 yen) - in the warm waiting room at the station. As always, the pictures are not great, but this time it's because I took them in a room with lots of shadows (haha). The taste was honestly just "okay"... Nothing particularly special or unique, just like the typical homemade cakes you'd find at a local cake shop. However, the choux pastry was crispy and fragrant, which made me think "they must make these fresh every morning". The cream, while not particularly special in flavor, was generously filled. It made me think "every town should have a straightforward and honest cake shop like this". Although I feel like I'm adding this as an afterthought, the biscuit with white chocolate cream filling was delicious with a gentle flavor. It seems like it can last for a few days, so I'd definitely want to buy it again. With so many overwhelming things happening beyond my capacity every day, I'm constantly feeling confused, but as long as I have sweets (and alcohol, haha), I feel like I can keep going. Well, that's not really a conclusion, is it? (haha)
