Hot and spicy Mapo tofu is a hit on social media. The stylish interior allows you to enjoy authentic Chinese cuisine in a casual setting. I visited around 1pm. The restaurant has counter seats and table seats. There was only one other customer at this time, and I was told to choose my seat, so I chose a table seat. I ordered the signature dish, "Stone-grilled Mapo tofu set (980 yen)". The dishes were all served together on one tray, including rice, soup, pickles, and a side dish. The Mapo tofu arrived in a sizzling stone pot. It was so spicy that I broke out in a sweat with each bite, especially in the summer. Finally, I had dessert to refresh my palate. If you are confident in handling spicy food, I recommend trying it out.

A restaurant I was curious about as I passed by. The interior has a bright and pop atmosphere that is easy to enter. The menu features a signature dish of stone-grilled mapo tofu set, as well as other sets like dumplings, oil-splashed chicken, sweet and sour pork, shrimp chili, dan dan noodles, five-flavor stir-fry, dim sum, etc. I ordered the signature stone-grilled mapo tofu set! It came out in just a few minutes, which surprised me a bit. It was piping hot and very spicy, even though the air conditioning was on. It was a generally spicy mapo tofu. The coarsely ground meat paired well with the soft tofu. The stir-fried chicken breast in the side dish was refreshing and lightly seasoned, which was nice. The almond jelly dessert with olive oil and Okinawan salt enhanced the sweetness and aroma, balancing out the spiciness. Additionally, the mini ice candy served as a post-spicy reset, which was a nice touch.

I recently visited New Asia 13, a new restaurant that opened in a perfect spot in Imaizumi (across from Fishman). The neon lights are cute and about 70% of the customers are women. We enjoyed various Chinese dishes served in small plates, starting with a coriander salad, followed by grilled dumplings, shumai, Taiwanese omelette, all of which were delicious! I tried the super spicy mapo tofu but couldn't handle the intense heat. Afterward, we moved to the second floor bar, New Bottle, and had a fun night that felt like we were on a trip abroad! (If you ask the staff discreetly, they will guide you upstairs)

I recently visited a new Asian cuisine restaurant in Hakata. The stylish atmosphere and the friendly staff were wonderful! They had many impactful dishes like spicy mapo tofu. It's a great place for women to visit, with many menu items that would appeal to female customers. I highly recommend it for a girls' night out!

Atmosphere: Personally, I feel like it doesn't quite suit Chinese cuisine, haha. The tables are small. I understand the desire to seat more customers though. Taste: Average. The dinner menu looks interesting. Other: Thanks to this, I've realized again how expensive dining out in Fukuoka can be. The contents of this set meal are a bit on the pricier side. But I was happy that they accommodated my special request. Also, one female staff member was on her computer the whole time. It's fine to do office work, but maybe not in front of customers, haha.

Opened on March 10, 2023, Taiwan no Yatai is a teppanyaki Chinese bar that offers a variety of authentic Chinese dishes such as dumplings and dim sum in a stylish Korean-style interior. This time, I visited for lunch.
- Shrimp Chili Set (980 yen)
The set includes shrimp chili, rice, soup, small side dishes, zasai (pickled mustard greens), and dessert. Rice and soup are free refills. The shrimp chili was plump and had a gradual spiciness that indicated the use of authentic spices. The small side dish was a vinegar dish with dried tofu. The soup, although looking like tea, was a healthy soup with a strong ginger and broth flavor. The dessert was almond jelly topped with extra virgin olive oil and Okinawan salt. This unique combination of creamy almond jelly with olive oil was surprisingly delightful.
As it is a Chinese bar, they also have a wide selection of drinks including Asian and international beers, craft beers, natural wines, and non-alcoholic options. I definitely want to visit again for dinner!

My wife, mother-in-law, and niece are staying overnight in Yanagawa from today. Since I have work tomorrow, I sent them off and decided to go for a lunch stroll. I remembered hearing about a new restaurant in the Izumi area, so I easily found the place I was looking for. Right in front of "Fishman," there was "New ASIA 13." The name is strange, but it looks like a standing bar from the outside. When I entered, there were a few customers already there. I sat at the counter and looked at the menu, which only had appetizers and drinks. A female waitress brought me water and told me to get my drink from the reach-in over there. It seemed like they catered to daytime drinking. I asked a young male waiter passing by if they had set meals, but he said they didn't serve lunch. I was disappointed. I didn't plan on drinking, so I carefully looked at the appetizer menu and decided to order the cheapest rice dish, the "Teppan Fried Rice" for 890 yen. When I tried to order from the guy at the counter, he told me to wait. I wondered what he was doing, as he could have taken my order while doing whatever he was doing. It wasn't a good impression. I decided to quickly eat the minimum and leave. As I waited for the fried rice, I looked around and noticed that despite not serving lunch, every table had rice, side dishes, and soup served. What was going on? Just to be sure, I asked a more reliable-looking female waitress if they didn't serve lunch on Sundays, and she confirmed it. It was still unclear. The fried rice that came out was more like a half portion for 890 yen. Was this really worth the price? Before even mentioning the taste, I thought, "This is not good." Well, good luck to them.

On 3/10, a stylish Chinese restaurant opened in Imaizumi. I came here aiming for the eye-catching seafood bowl at a nearby restaurant, but it was closed. It's inconvenient when a store has irregular holidays. When I asked the staff inside about the opening time, they said it was 11:00. It was about 10 minutes until opening, so I decided to wait outside. The restaurant has counter seats and table seats, and even though I was alone, they said I could sit at a table for two. The lunch menu is all under 1000 yen and comes with dessert, which is quite reasonable these days. I ordered the Black Vinegar Sweet and Sour Pork set (980 yen including tax), which comes with unlimited rice and soup. The dish was served in about 6-7 minutes. The Black Vinegar Sweet and Sour Pork looked great, and the taste of the black vinegar sauce was not overpowering, which I liked. The pork was tender and there were crunchy textures from the yam and onions, making it delicious. The shredded dried tofu seasoned with sesame was also tasty, and the portion was generous. The soup had a mild soy sauce base and was free for refills. The rice was also delicious and free for refills. The dessert was almond tofu with olive oil and frozen oolong tea. The almond tofu had a smooth texture like panna cotta, and the combination of almond tofu and olive oil was surprisingly good. The frozen oolong tea was refreshing after the meal. The main dish, side dishes, rice, soup, and dessert were all to my liking, and for 980 yen, it was a great value. The side dishes were generous in portion, so it's a good option for those who like to eat a lot. The quick service makes it suitable for a business lunch, and the dessert included makes it appealing to women as well. I'm curious about the oil-splashed chicken, so I might revisit when I'm in the area.

I went to the newly opened restaurant #New ASIA 13 in Fukuoka City, Chuo Ward, Imaizumi on March 13, 2023 (Monday). The restaurant opened on March 10th. It is located right in front of Fishman in Imaizumi. They offer five lunch menu options with free refills of rice, soup, and dessert. I ordered the Black Vinegar Pork Set for 980 yen (tax included). The set came with soup, a side dish, and pickles. The rice portion was a bit small, so getting a refill is a must. The side dish was thinly sliced chicken, which went well with a bowl of rice. The large black vinegar pork dish had 6 pieces with onions and yam. The crunchy texture of the yam was refreshing. The sweet and sour sauce coated the pork nicely, making it a great match with rice. Of course, I got a refill of rice and soup. Lastly, I had a dessert of almond jelly with oolong tea. It was a great value lunch with dessert included. The restaurant is located at 1-3-13 Imaizumi, Chuo Ward, Fukuoka City. They are closed on Tuesdays.

The shop was clean and the staff provided good service. The Chinese food was satisfying and you can easily visit this place. The extremely spicy mapo tofu is dangerous so be careful (^ ^) Next time, I will try the Sichuan-style mapo tofu. Thank you for the meal.
