I saw this restaurant on a TV show a while ago. It's a place I had checked out as a potential date spot, known for its famous Michelin-starred okonomiyaki. It's located on the 4th floor of a mixed-use building, with no sign outside. The only indication of the restaurant's presence is a chopstick wrapper next to the elevator button. Take the elevator to the 4th floor, and when you get off, you'll find a regular house-like entrance with no restaurant name displayed. As you proceed, you'll see a sign instructing you to take off your shoes and put them in an eco bag before entering. The sign also states that you can take the bag home with you. Opening the sliding door with a "Mind Your Head" warning reveals a space that feels like a different dimension - a cool counter surrounding the kitchen in a circular shape. All the seat cushions are labeled as reserved. The counter is lined with glass cases displaying various one-cup sake options. Time to order. I started with the intriguing smoked lemon sour. Grated frozen smoked lemon adds a unique smoky flavor to the drink. The complimentary starter was miso soup with clams - a nice touch. I then ordered a sashimi platter with four types of fish - octopus, salmon, yellowtail, and scallops - served in a box labeled "fish" and accompanied by smoked soy sauce. The smoked cheese and smoked potato salad were also delicious. The highlight was the famous smoked sukiyaki, featuring beautifully marbled beef and a flavorful vegetable selection. The dish was cooked in a pot and served with smoked raw egg dipping sauce. I also tried another dipping sauce made with smoked tomatoes, which was quite unique. I ended the meal with squid and cod roe, accompanied by a cup of sake. Overall, this restaurant is definitely a place that would impress and delight if someone brought you here. The menu is reasonably priced, and it's a great spot for a meal. Reservations are recommended.

This is my second visit to this smoked food restaurant, and despite being known for their smoked dishes, they also have a great selection of cup sake. The staff are very friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming. All the dishes are delicious and the cup sake options are all good, so I will definitely be coming back again! It was a bit hot inside, but that can be fixed with some air conditioning. Looking forward to visiting again!

I visited this restaurant based on a friend's recommendation. The interior is cozy with only a counter and sunken hearth. It feels like a secret hideout! The menu consists of smoked dishes and drinks, aside from beer. I ordered bacon, potato salad, cheese, and edamame, and they were all incredibly delicious! I definitely want to come back to this place again. It's perfect for a date! It's recommended to make a reservation beforehand.

On my second visit, I didn't reserve the course meal like last time and instead ordered individual dishes. Everything was delicious, but the cheese was the best. Also, the smoked highball was addictive. I'm thinking of trying the all-you-can-drink option next time.

I love smoked food, so I went to a restaurant that specializes in it. It's a hidden gem with only counter seats. They served pickled ginger with miso as a complimentary starter, which was smoked and delicious. I ordered the following dishes:
- Smoked Cheese Grilled: The warm cheese was delicious, and the smoky flavor was excellent.
- Smoked Tomato: The smoked flavor was not very strong, but the mayonnaise served with it was smoked as well.
- Smoked Sashimi Platter: It had salmon, scallops, octopus, and tuna. The smoked flavor was not very pronounced, but the soy sauce was also smoked.
- Smoked Potato Salad: You break it yourself and eat it like eating french fries with the skin-on potatoes.
- Smoked Char Siu: It was my first time trying it, and it was quite delicious.
- Smoked Cheese Tofu: It had a perfect balance of sweetness and saltiness, making it a great dessert option.
I had a draft beer first, followed by a smoked sake cocktail, which was delicious. I then switched to sake. The smoked cheese tofu was particularly delicious. It's a must-visit place for smoked food lovers.

I made a reservation for 5:00 PM and the atmosphere was great. There were about 3 groups in the 5:00 hour, but it was full before I knew it. The appearance was very nice and stylish, but the taste of the food was mediocre. The flavors didn't seem to stand out much. Each dish had a slight hint of smoked flavor, which was different from what I expected. I probably won't go back, but it's worth visiting once for the trendy atmosphere. I don't have any photos, but the cream cheese was the most delicious.

The first dish we ordered was a sashimi assortment, and the soy sauce that came with it was a smoked soy sauce that was incredibly delicious! We wanted to order another dish just to enjoy this soy sauce more, so we decided to try the horse sashimi, which was fresh, sweet, and tender as expected. The special soy sauce that came with it enhanced the flavor even more. It was so good that we wished they sold it so we could buy some. Most of the dishes were served on wooden plates, which complemented the smoked dishes perfectly. Since the dishes are great for sharing, it's recommended to go with family or close friends. The drinks were also smoked, and although we didn't quite understand the concept, the sangria was delicious. The dish with buttered sweet potatoes and sake lees on top was absolutely amazing! The sausage was good, but compared to other outstanding dishes, it fell a bit short. The smoked sashimi was so impressive that we couldn't stop being amazed. We also tried the dry curry for dessert, and it was delicious as well. We even tried adding the smoked soy sauce to it for a different flavor. We couldn't find the smoked soy sauce for sale, and we couldn't locate the register at the end of our meal. If the owner is reading this, please consider selling the smoked soy sauce! The Catalana dessert was also a new and delightful taste experience. The only disappointment was that the chicken dish we wanted to order was sold out. The restaurant was fully booked with reservations, and it was understandable why it was so popular. Overall, we were happy to have found such a great restaurant in the area.

Smoked highball, smoked cheese tofu, smoked potato salad, homemade smoked beef sinew with smoked yuzu pepper, broccoli tempura with smoked mayonnaise, octopus with smoked soy sauce from Sugiya, smoked fried potatoes, smoked baked cheese, real bacon made by a smoked meat shop. Probably the only place you can eat smoked dry curry.

The atmosphere was nice and I thought it would be a good recommendation for couples. However, I was surprised by the way the woman in front of me spoke when ordering from the menu. The man in the middle was mainly cooking in the kitchen, and the women around him were talking, which didn't make me feel very comfortable. But the food was very delicious. The sashimi was surprisingly fresh and the tea rice porridge at the end was also delicious. As we were leaving, it was raining and cold, so they gave us a hand warmer. Thank you for your consideration.

The smell of smoked food filled the air from all the dishes. It was fun to break and eat the potato salad by myself! The sukiyaki was the best recommendation! Whether it was the smoked raw egg or the smoked frozen tomato to dip in, both were really delicious. The smoky flavor was really prominent. The dessert, anko butter and chocolate, were also smoked and really delicious. The seats near the entrance seemed a bit cold, but they provided knee blankets to help. If you can choose your seat, the back is recommended for winter.

Dipping sukiyaki in smoked tomato sorbet was a new and exciting experience! They also had smoked cheese, smoked highball, smoked plum sour, and smoked mentaiko, all smoked dishes. The broccoli tempura was really cute and delicious, with a delightful aroma.

Smoked Sugiya Shop, Namba, Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture 1-7-18 Shinsaibashi European Building 4F. All about smoked dishes! From start to finish, it's all about smoked flavors! Tried a smoked sour drink for the first time (◎_◎;). Note that smoked drinks are not included in the all-you-can-drink option, so you need to order them separately if you want to try them! Had a course meal this time, but the menu is extensive so I'll go a la carte next time! Eating sukiyaki with smoked tomato sherbet was a new and interesting experience ∑(゚Д゚) Thank you for the delicious meal! ♫

Located on the 4th floor of a building about a 3-minute walk from Namba HIPS. The restaurant doesn't have a sign, just a paper next to the elevator, making it a bit hard to find. You need to put your shoes in a plastic bag before entering because it has tatami flooring. The drink menu offers drinks ranging from around 550 to 600 yen. I ordered a regular highball, while my companion got a smoked lemon sour, which had a strong smoked lemon aroma. We had a course meal, starting with miso soup with clams, tofu and cream cheese with smoked salt, processed cheese with smoked flavor, sashimi and horse meat with smoked soy sauce, smoked bacon and sausage. The sukiyaki had a thin broth, and it was recommended to eat the meat with smoked tomato shaved ice. The vegetables were better with smoked raw egg. The tea rice with smoked plum and cod roe was delicious. The smoked raw chocolate at the end was incredibly tasty. Since everything was smoked, it can get a bit overwhelming in a course meal, so it might be better to order items individually and enjoy with drinks. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

It's good. Since it's just a counter, it's better to go with around 2 people. When I went, it was calm and there weren't noisy people, so I could enjoy my meal comfortably. The place has a hidden gem-like atmosphere that you wouldn't expect from the outside, with shelves on the counter decorated with fine craftsmanship. There was a stylish service from the shop on the way out, making me want to recommend it to others and come back again.

I went to the second place! There was no sign, so I got really lost. The interior of the restaurant was stylish and cozy, with only counter seats in a sunken kotatsu style. I didn't make a reservation, but if you do, they write "reservation" on a cushion which I found funny. I ordered: Smoked Lemon Sour (600 yen), Smoked Potato Salad (590 yen), Sashimi Salmon (660 yen), Smoked Pride Potato (590 yen), Smoked Cheese (550 yen), and Raw Chocolate (300 yen). The food was delicious but the portions were small. They also served a warm pack when leaving, which was nice. It's a great place for smoked food lovers, but I don't think I'll come back because the portion size was small for the price. Cost performance ⚪︎ Taste ⚪︎ Atmosphere ◎ Service ⚪︎

I went to the restaurant using Google Maps but couldn't find the entrance and wandered around. After confirming the building name, I finally found it. The inside of the restaurant has a calm atmosphere with only a counter, and there are many couples as customers. As the name suggests, there are many smoked dishes, and they paired well with highballs. The main dish of the restaurant is sukiyaki, which is delicious, but I personally enjoyed having small dishes with drinks. I would like to go back there again sometime!

A hidden gem of a shop that's been trending on Instagram and TikTok! It's hard to find, with only a counter for seating, so it's best for groups of three or fewer. The clientele is mostly women and couples, and the interior is stylish with a great atmosphere. The lighting inside makes the dishes look beautiful and perfect for taking photos. All the dishes are smoked and delicious. Don't miss trying the Smoked High Sour cocktail, it's amazing!

After a long time, I visited Namba in Osaka. Tonight, I went to "Kunsei Sugiyashoten", a restaurant specializing in smoked dishes. It has a cozy hidden atmosphere with no signboard, and cute reserved cushions. I started with smoked cheese, which was smoked for a long time and then baked. It was crispy and delicious. Next, I tried the smoked potato salad, where you mix smoked soft-boiled eggs yourself. It was also incredibly tasty. And finally, the famous smoked sukiyaki. It includes beef, rice balls, shiitake mushrooms, leeks, Chinese cabbage, and chrysanthemum leaves. You cook it in a sukiyaki pot and enjoy it with frozen smoked tomato flakes and smoked raw egg. Oh, it was irresistible.

Hidden gem in a mixed-use building off the shopping street. A stylish and calm space that doesn't feel like Namba.
- Smoked Potato Salad / 550 yen
- Sashimi Platter / 1000 yen
- Smoked Cheese Tofu / 350 yen
* Reservations recommended
The counter seats inside, like a sunken kotatsu, are lovely. The atmosphere is great, perfect for a date. The potato salad is a style where you mash smoked eggs and potatoes yourself. The cheese tofu has a texture like rare cheese, slightly sweet and delicious.
I was surprised by the smoked alcohol! What is this sour drink, it tastes so smoky. There are various unique items on the menu, it was fun! The staff are also cool (whispers).
The menu is limited, so I recommend going here as a second stop!

It was a bit hard to find, but the smoked potato salad was delicious! I also tried the grated yam with warm egg and smoked ponzu sauce, which I even made at home (not smoked though). The smoked sukiyaki and smoked cheese were also really tasty! The smoked cheese tofu and potato salad seem to be popular dishes too.
