It was my older sister and her husband's wedding celebration, and we had a crab kaiseki course meal with my sister, her husband, and my mother. As soon as we started the kaiseki course, everyone fell silent while eating crab. It's a common thing, right? People get so focused when eating crab that they suddenly stop talking. I felt a bit lonely and thought it was a waste of time to not have any conversations, so I tried to break the silence. The kaiseki course lasted about 2 hours, filled with laughter and fun. The crab course restaurant offers excellent value for money, and it's great that you can order different courses for two people! The seafood is abundant and fresh. The crab shabu-shabu in particular was exquisite, with a rich flavor that was truly impressive. The service was attentive, and the staff's hospitality was outstanding. The variety of dishes was extensive, so we could enjoy without getting bored. The dessert was also delicious, and overall satisfaction was high. I ordered the course meal! I couldn't take pictures of all 7 dishes because I was too focused on eating. Kanidouraku is a splendid traditional Japanese restaurant. I thoroughly enjoyed the quality, taste, freshness, and presentation of all the dishes. Despite making a reservation over the phone just before visiting, they prepared a private room with a sunken kotatsu for us, thank you very much! Every year, they send a postcard in my birthday month, thank you for that. I am a fan of Kanidouraku, so I always look forward to visiting! The kind smiles and hospitality of the staff are wonderful. I always leave satisfied! Thank you for the delicious meal!

I came to Osaka because I wanted to eat delicious crab. There are many "Kani Doraku" restaurants everywhere, but since Osaka is known for takoyaki and crab, I want to try fresh crab at the main "Kani Doraku Honkan" restaurant! I chose the "Live Taraba Crab Shabu Shabu" as the main dish, and also selected crab vinegar dish and crab steak. You can also enjoy the view of the Dotonbori River from the table, which boosts the mood! After eating, let's go on a Dotonbori cruise (laughs). The Live Taraba Crab Shabu Shabu was incredibly delicious and satisfying. The grilled crab vinegar dish has great value for money! I will definitely come back to Osaka again.

A friend who came on a trip from out of town suddenly contacted me, so we hurriedly went to Kani Doraku ❤️ She really wanted to visit Kani Doraku in Dotonbori! So today, we had a sudden crab lunch! I love crab, so I'm always happy, and I welcomed it with open arms. We indulged in crab with four women. Namba was really crowded, but we'll definitely visit again!

This time, instead of going straight to Universal Studios, we decided to go straight to Kani Doraku Honkan in Dotonbori. It was my first visit! I had been looking forward to it since making a reservation a month ago. There was a long line in front of the store for crab buns. We were escorted to the 4th floor of the main store and ordered the lunch course "Ruri". All the dishes were delicious, but the crab kamameshi was the best with the flavor of the crab and the rice mixing perfectly. The second cup of tea poured into the rice after the meal was also incredibly delicious. I didn't expect the crab flavor to be so enticing. I had been wanting to go eat for a while, and finally I was able to visit. The staff at the store were also very kind. Thank you very much. Crab vinegar, crab miso dressing, and yuba roll salad, crab chawanmushi, crab shumai, crab tempura, crab kamameshi, ice cream with matcha sauce. Thank you for the meal.

I had 1 kg of live crab from Yamagata Shonai prepared in sashimi and grilled style, totaling 50,000 yen for two servings. There were about 30% foreign customers, and the restaurant was almost full and bustling after 7 pm. Dotonbori was overflowing with Korean and Chinese tourists, and all the restaurants had long lines and crowded with people.

It was my first time at Kanidouraku♪ The crab dishes were all delicious with rich flavors. The crab rice was served in two bowls, with perfectly crispy rice at the bottom, and we finished by having ochazuke. The sashimi was rich and tasty...mmm, so good♡ I couldn't stop smiling while cracking the crab legs. For dessert, they prepared matcha right in front of us and poured it over ice cream. Ahh, it was a taste of happiness✧︎* After paying, we enjoyed some sake. I wonder what "Crab Day" on the sign means? On this day, I had a lunch gathering with my close friend K at the main store of Kani Doraku. We decided to try the lunch special course, Sumire, which cost ¥5,720. The meal started with a crab vinegar and yuba roll salad with crab miso dressing, followed by crab sashimi, crab shumai, crab gratin with club sauce, crab suki, crab tempura, crab sushi, and red miso soup. The meal was delicious and satisfying, with highlights being the crab tempura and crab sushi. We also added crab nigiri and crab miso nigiri from the sushi menu, which were both tasty. The meal ended with green tea ice cream. Overall, it was a satisfying experience, although the portion of crab seemed a bit small. The total bill for two people was ¥20,900.

I had the rare opportunity to be entertained by a company and visited a restaurant. From sashimi, grilled dishes, tempura, hot pot, to the finishing porridge, a luxurious crab with numbering on the photos was served generously, making it the best crab I have ever had in my life, even at over 50 years old! Of course, the service was smooth and I was able to enjoy the meal comfortably. It's definitely on my list for a revisit!

I came to Dotonbori. I wanted to celebrate my 300th review with a luxurious crab dish at the main store of Kani Doraku, but it was full due to no reservation, so I was guided to the branch's Chumise. On this day, I decided to treat myself to my favorite crab dish for lunch, so I made a reservation and visited. When I entered at the reserved time and told the staff my name, they said, "We have been waiting for you," and guided me to the second floor using the elevator. When the elevator doors opened on the second floor, the smell of crab was strong. The spacious Japanese-style setting. A reserved table in a raised tatami area overlooking the Dotonbori River, where I took off my shoes and sat down. I ordered the lunch crab set meal "Rin" for 3300 yen that I had decided in advance. In the past, it was brought all at once on a tray, but here it is served one by one. ☆Crab vinegar and crab miso dressing with yuba roll salad. Eating boiled crab with vinegar - the crab legs are thinner than before, but the taste is good, though a bit lacking. The yuba roll salad comes with seaweed and vegetables, and the crab miso dressing is delicious without any unpleasant smell. ☆Crab chawanmushi with a little crab meat in white dashi sauce. The chawanmushi has ginkgo nuts and lily root. ☆Crab croquette. The small barrel-shaped croquette has a creamy sauce filling with a rich crab flavor. ☆Crab sushi. Crab sushi roll and crab battera. The roll is mixed with mayonnaise, and the battera has larger pieces of crab. ☆Soup. Red miso soup, with a weak broth. It has chewy gluten inside. ☆Ice cream with matcha. The staff prepares matcha and pours it over the ice cream. The bitter matcha and refreshing ice cream are a good match. The service is still polite as before, but the actual portion of crab has decreased. Except for solo diners like me, almost all the customers were foreigners, and it seemed to have outstanding popularity overseas.

Located about a 2-minute walk from Namba Station on the Osaka Municipal Subway Midosuji Line, this restaurant is a well-known establishment in Dotonbori. Despite having indulged in plenty of live crab through a hometown tax contribution the night before and that morning, I didn't cancel my reservation at Kani Doraku Honten, which I had made three months prior, and made sure to pay a visit. I enjoyed my favorite dishes - Taraba crab tempura and live crab sushi, as well as some secret menu live crab sushi, which is not listed on the regular menu. While the usual orders are placed through a tablet, the secret menu live crab sushi must be ordered directly from the staff. I ordered Taraba crab tempura (5 pieces) for 5,500 yen, grilled crab for 2,750 yen, crab miso claw with bagna cauda for 1,650 yen, and two orders of live crab sushi for 550 yen each. I also added a half order of Taraba crab tempura (3 pieces) for 3,300 yen. The Taraba crab tempura and live crab sushi at Kani Doraku are always incredibly delicious no matter when you eat them.

I have just returned from Kyushu, but today is the anniversary of our marriage. Last time we visited, we tried to go to various locations like the Dotombori main store, Naka-Za store, Higashi store, and Aomoto Bettei, but we were told there was a wait of 1.5 to 2 hours without a reservation, so we gave up and went home. Today, we made a reservation and requested a seat with a view of the river for our anniversary. We were seated by the window on the second floor near Ebisu Bridge. We had already decided on our menu, so we ordered the crab suki and grilled crab. The crab pot was placed on a burner, and we couldn't help but laugh when we saw that the pot had the face and limbs of a crab. There was also a child's chair nearby shaped like a crab, showing the playful spirit of the restaurant. When the food arrived, the grilled crab was delicious as expected. It was sweet and tasty. The hot pot also arrived with a generous amount of crab and various vegetables. The carrots were even cut into crab shapes. The crab cooked quickly and was delicious. We also ordered a serving of porridge at the end, which was cooked after confirming the flavor of the broth. They even took a picture of us during the meal and presented it to us as a celebration of our anniversary. It was a great experience, and we would definitely visit again if we have the chance. I visited the main store of Kanidouraku for the first time in my life! It was a holiday visit, but every time slot was fully booked, so we only had availability at 3:30 pm, which made for a very early dinner. Since it was a celebratory occasion, we opted for the Kanisuki course "Ginrei" (12,100 yen). The course included: - Appetizer (chawanmushi with a bisque-like sauce) - Crab vinegar - Crab sashimi - Grilled crab - Crab tempura - Kanisuki (crab hot pot) - Pickles - Ice cream with matcha sauce There were a total of 8 dishes, all featuring crab. The crabs were all large and very satisfying to eat. The portions were quite generous, and we were very full. The crab sashimi was especially delicious, with a strong sweetness and plenty of wasabi that didn't overpower the flavor. I don't usually have the opportunity to eat crab sashimi, so I was very satisfied. The dessert of ice cream with matcha sauce was unique, as they made the matcha in front of us and poured it over the vanilla ice cream, similar to affogato. It was a great experience! Thank you for the meal!

Kani Doraku Main Store. I had passed by the store many times before, but this was my first time going in. I arrived a little after 11 am. I took the elevator up to the 4th floor and was seated by the window overlooking Dotonbori. It seemed like it would be easy to get a window seat on a weekday. I ordered the lunch course in the 5000 yen range. It included crab tofu, crab vinegar, crab sashimi, crab dumplings, crab sukiyaki, crab gratin, crab roll sushi, and for dessert, matcha ice cream. I was so full. Crab is really hard to eat, isn't it? After eating all that crab, I found myself craving something other than crab for the rest of the day.

We had a disappointing start to our trip in Osaka when the restaurant we planned to visit for lunch turned out to be closed. However, we ended up at Kani Doraku Honten, known for its moving crab sign. The restaurant had a crab-themed interior and offered reasonably priced lunch courses. We ordered the "Rin" and "Ren" courses for 3300 yen each. The crab utensil provided was easy to use, perfect for digging into the delicious crab. The crab vinegar was also tasty. The crab chawanmushi was particularly delicious, and the crab soup was amazing. The crab cream croquette was a favorite, although the regular tonkatsu sauce was a bit disappointing. The crab sushi rolls were more enjoyable than the pressed sushi. The meal ended with a delicious crab porridge. For dessert, I had vanilla ice cream topped with freshly made matcha, which was a fun experience. The restaurant had a good view of Dotonbori Bridge, where many people were taking pictures doing the famous Glico pose. Overall, it was a great dining experience before continuing our Osaka B-class gourmet tour.

I had never been to this famous restaurant before, but suddenly decided to go to Kanidouraku because I was not alone and wanted to eat okonomiyaki. I ordered the Kanisuki course, "Dansetsu" for 8800 yen. Every crab dish was delicious. The restaurant was more spacious and nicer than I had expected. It might be suitable for business entertainment.

Kansai Trip Part 3: Visiting Kani Douraku Honkan after a long time. I was looking forward to having lunch here since the trip was planned. It was a sudden decision to go in early September 2022, so I had already eaten crab in Kurume a while ago. The Hayate course for 4950 yen includes: - Crab vinegar and crab miso dressing, yuba roll salad - Crab sashimi - Crab chawanmushi - Crab gratin with crab sauce - Crab tempura - Crab kamameshi - Soup - Ice cream with matcha sauce Crab sashimi is a must, and the course also includes unique crab sake that can only be found here. The grilled crab with crab sake and hot sake is something I want to try later. I could see the cruise ship for the Dotonbori Cruise from my seat. The crab kamameshi was delicious with the freshly cooked rice soaked in crab broth and mixed with the crab meat. The burnt parts were also tasty. I finished the second bowl as ochazuke, enjoying the light and fluffy texture. My friend ordered an additional crab appetizer platter. For dessert, I had freshly made matcha with warm tea to end the meal on a cozy note. After paying the bill, we received some candy as a gift.
