Oishigen-san, which had temporarily closed at the end of August 2020, reopened in February 2023 at the Dazaifu store. I had never been to the Dazaifu store before, but I had been to the Akasaka store, which had also closed, so I felt nostalgic and decided to visit this time. The location is right near Nishitetsu Dazaifu Station, making it easy to stop by when visiting Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine. The main dish is of course tonkotsu ramen, but they also have a menu item called "Ebi Kaoru Shoyu Raamen" which means shrimp-scented soy sauce ramen. This soy sauce ramen is priced at 850 yen, slightly higher than the tonkotsu ramen (720 yen). The word "shrimp-scented" was personally appealing to me, and since I had exactly 850 yen in my wallet, I felt it was fate and ordered it. By the way, ordering is done through a ticket system. As shown in the photo, the soup has a reddish tint compared to regular soy sauce ramen, and it does indeed have a shrimp aroma. The flavor is not overwhelmingly shrimp-like, nor is it a complete soy sauce soup, but rather a unique taste. The toppings are green onions, finely chopped menma, and chashu. The noodles are thin, and for this soy sauce ramen, normal firmness was recommended. Even at normal firmness, the noodles had a delicious texture with a good chewiness, and it seemed even more delicious with firmer noodles when ordering tonkotsu ramen. On the table, there were condiments like spicy wood ear mushrooms and ginger. The ginger was finely sliced like menma, and I ended up putting quite a bit, so I recommend being careful. The spicy wood ear mushrooms had a moderate spiciness, which I personally enjoyed. For those who are not fond of spicy food, I recommend using a small amount. This area seems to be a battleground for ramen shops, with Wara Wara-san and Ichiran-san also nearby.
