There is a manju shop in the Apia underground shopping street at Sapporo Station. Their white bean paste cakes start at 65 yen each, while the fromage flavor starts at 76 yen. The traditional white bean paste cakes are made with old-fashioned machines right in front of you, so the freshly made ones were delicious. The fromage flavor had more of a buttery taste rather than cheese.

When passing by the store, the smell of "touman" stimulated memories of my childhood. I remembered going to the department store with my dad, where there was an automatic "touman" making machine that fascinated me as it flipped the brass-colored rings while baking the "touman." At that time, it seemed like only "touman" was being sold, but now they also offer a set of 3 "touman" and 3 "fromage" for ¥421. Opening the package, the sweet smell of "touman" spreads and the taste of the egg-like dough with a refreshing white bean paste is delightful. It's not too sweet and light, making it easy to eat many. The "fromage" is a type with cheese in it, not just cheese cream, and the rich cheese combined with the sweet dough is quite good. However, when placed side by side, "touman" clearly wins. Good food remains delicious no matter how many years pass! Thank you for the meal.

"I am alone at the 'Touman Fujiya' in Sapporo. The weather forecast has been threatening since yesterday, saying 'Tomorrow is going to be really bad.' When I left Kitami, it was mostly sunny, and the wind was strong but not too bad. So I was wondering if it was really going to get that stormy. However, on TV, they are reporting warnings and alerts all over the place. It felt like I was driving towards a storm. The bad weather aside, I arrived in Sapporo late, and I didn't have much time to explore. I thought that after having ramen, it might be better to find a building to hide in and not move around too much. So, I parked my car behind the station and went underground. Even though I had already decided that I was full, when I found something, my feet stopped on their own. What a dilemma. I was at Esta, but if I wanted to go back to my car, I had to head towards the north exit. However, I went straight ahead and found the 'Touman Fujiya.' I don't really like manju, but I found one with cream inside that looked delicious. 'Azuki cream, please.' I always get asked if I want just one, even though I always only get one. I don't want to be asked, so please don't ask. When I cut it open, I couldn't help but laugh. You can only see the cream, and the rest is red bean paste. Is it the cream or the red beans that cost more? Probably the red beans. Is the dough like a steamed bun? I don't like steamed buns, so I don't really need to know. It's kind of like a dorayaki, but with sticky dough. The harmony of the dough, red bean paste, and cream was delicious. I left half, but ended up eating the whole thing."

Did you all know about the "Fujiya" confectionery shop that was founded 70 years ago? I didn't know until now! The snacks I received as a gift from my family were "Touman" and "Fromage". Each case contained 6 pieces of each. The texture of both Touman and Fromage was the same. It was a bit crispy, but when you put it in your mouth, it had a light and fluffy castella-like dough, which I personally like! Touman is shaped like a manju with the product name engraved on the surface. It uses a mildly sweet white bean paste. Fromage has a characteristic square shape. The cheese cream used in it has a rich flavor, without any diluted taste, giving a real cheese experience! Traditional sweets like these, passed down through generations, are just as good as modern elaborate sweets. The simple taste that is not bound by modern trends brings out its goodness, and it is necessary for feeling nostalgia. I would love to try them fresh from the oven. Thank you for the meal.

I have been to Sapporo many times, but I have never tried "touman" before. It is like a smaller version of dorayaki, made by a machine in a demonstration style. I bought one touman and one waffle at Apia and tried them. The touman was small but had a refreshing flavor of white bean paste, not too sweet, and well-made. The waffle I had was filled with red bean and whipped cream, which was also good. Overall, reasonably priced and delicious. I like that there are only two stores. I would like to buy them again if I have the chance.

When my parents came to visit, they bought souvenirs for me from Tōman in Apia at Sapporo Station underground. The set included not only the typical white bean paste but also cheese-filled bean paste, and I tried both. At first, I thought the familiar white bean paste was more delicious, but as I ate a few pieces, I found the cheese-filled one had a deeper flavor and was irresistible. I didn't try it this time, but I thought the cheese-filled one would go perfectly with alcohol.

Sapporo Satsueki. Today's shop is Tomman Fujiiya Apia store. When I asked the members I always hang out with if they wanted me to bring back a souvenir, they requested this. I live in Sapporo now, but I'm not originally from here, so I had never heard of this famous snack before. It's a set of 10 Tomman and Fromage pastries for 1188 yen. I tried one of each after returning to Muroran, and they were delicious with a simple and not too sweet taste. I personally preferred the Fromage flavor. I'll definitely buy them again if I have the chance. Thank you for the meal! ☺

Fujiya is a traditional Japanese confectionery shop located in the underground shopping area of Sapporo Station, ApiA. It is tucked away at the end of ApiA. I happened to pass by and decided to explore the shop. While the small steamed buns caught my eye, I ended up buying a waffle with red bean and fresh cream filling because it looked delicious. The waffle had a fluffy and moist texture, and the lightly sweetened fresh cream and red bean combination was perfect. It was really tasty.

My wife bought this as a souvenir. It brings back memories. When I was a child, I used to watch the machine in the basement of Marui Imai making these buns automatically, "kachan! kachan!" endlessly. If I lived in Sapporo, I wouldn't intentionally buy these buns. But when I tried it, I realized it was white bean paste inside! I thought it was black bean paste. The unique flavor, I wonder what it is. It's different from refined dorayaki or imagawayaki, it has a unique taste that I feel. That's what makes it good. Now it costs 55 yen per piece, right? I hope it continues to live on across generations.

Today, I bought a waffle with rum raisin flavor as a souvenir from a famous waffle shop. They also had matcha milk and chocolate flavors available. The waffle was soft and fluffy, with a gentle texture. The rum raisin cream inside was not too sweet, making it easy to eat. Thank you for the delicious treat.

I was looking for something small to give as a thank you gift to someone, and I came across this place. It was around 6 p.m. so they were running low on items. If you're planning to give it to someone, it's better to go for the boxed ones. They start from around 800 yen. If you buy them individually, they come in plain plastic bags without any logos, so it might be a bit embarrassing to give them as a gift. In the end, I missed the opportunity to give it to someone and ended up eating them alone, haha. So, I bought 3 bean paste buns, a white bean paste taiyaki, a matcha waffle, and a rum raisin waffle for a total of around 700 yen. In terms of prices, the bean paste buns were around 55 yen each. The others were roughly 170 yen each. I haven't eaten taiyaki for a long time, so I forgot the going rate, but I think it's on the cheaper side. At least, the waffles are quite large for the price. As for the taste, I was pleasantly surprised. Usually, cold taiyaki can be dry and crumbly, but these were not like that. The bean paste buns were filled with white bean paste and had a satisfying bite to them. The taiyaki was also packed with bean paste from head to tail. I could taste a hint of red specks and a subtle sakura flavor, so maybe it was sakura white bean paste? The taiyaki was delicious. I forgot that the bean paste taiyaki was white bean paste, so that was a mistake, haha. The waffles were fluffy, similar to the ones you find in supermarkets in packs of 5 (a difficult comparison). The rum raisin waffle had plenty of rum raisins and reminded me of Rokkatei's butter sandwich. The cream was custard-based instead of butter cream, giving it an elegant touch. The matcha waffle had a strong matcha flavor, which was surprising. It had more matcha taste than regular sweets. Despite being cold, they were still delicious. They were much tastier than I had imagined. It was a pleasant surprise. It's not often that something turns out to be tastier than expected, so I experienced that feeling again after a long time. Even if you're not a big fan of this type of sweet, you'll be satisfied. The prices are reasonable, so I recommend this place for buying convenience store sweets! It's also great for gifts. The waffles and taiyaki are really good! Thank you for the meal!

This is a shop in Apiawest that sells Sapporo specialty sweets called "Touman". I discovered it for the first time when I decided to write a review. I always thought this place was called Fujiya... Touman is my mother's favorite, so I often stop by here and also at the Marui Imai store. "Buying Touman", "Stopping by to buy Touman"... the name of the flagship product has become so well-known that it's just "Touman" now (laughs). I bought a 6-piece box of Touman as a souvenir for my mother, and a 6-piece box of Fromage for myself. The reason I bought them separately is because if I leave them together, I'll end up eating them all (laughs). I always end up buying the same thing - Touman, Fromage, or occasionally Cheese Dog. I really want to try the Oni Tai, but I always forget to order it... Next time, I'll definitely get it... When I got home, I handed the 6-piece box of Touman to my mother. I said, "Let's have some tea and eat them together." But actually, my Fromage was in my bag (laughs)... However, I couldn't resist and ate one. The white bean paste is delicious (*´ω`*) So nostalgic and delicious, just like the Touman I remember from my childhood. My mother said the same thing, so it's really amazing (laughs). Anyway, I only ate one because the rest are for my mother. Thank you for the meal (*´ω`*)♪ The Fromage is my snack while watching TV (laughs). It has solid cheese inside the same dough as Touman. The slight saltiness of the cheese goes so well with the sweet dough (*´▽`*) It was delicious (*´▽`*) Thank you for the meal. I'll definitely visit again♪

When you pass by, you can smell the sweet and delicious aroma of the shop. It's a live sales demonstration, so I always end up getting drawn in. For me, it's not only a taste that reminds me of memories with my grandmother, but also a moment that brings back memories of her. The tōman is bite-sized and easy to eat, while the white bean cheese dog has cheese inside with a sweet skin that is delicious. The sweet skin of the arabiki dog complements the salty flavor of the arabiki sausage. My daughter also loves them, and we usually reheat them in the microwave the next day and toast the surface before eating.

I have reviewed this place a few times, so I'll keep it simple. This shop is located in the underground shopping area ApiA directly connected to Sapporo Station. - Toman (54 yen) x 2 - Cheese Dog (130 yen) The Toman was okay with a traditional taste, but honestly, the Cheese Dog was not that great. It's not terrible, but it's not very delicious either. I might buy the Toman again in the future. Thank you for the meal!

When I was a child, the souvenir from Sapporo was always "touman"... it's a taste that I'm familiar with. I have bought it a few times myself, but this is my first review... It has been a while since I last ate it. In the past, "touman" was the only item available, but recently there seems to be a variety of other options as well. There are even ones with Hello Kitty designs, but they are quite expensive. A pack of 6 costs 324 yen... besides the simple packaging, there are also ones that come in a box. I will take one home. I really like the white bean paste... I think this size is just right. It still has the same delicious taste as before, a reliable choice. It's a taste that I sometimes crave. I will definitely come back again. Thank you for the meal.

JR Eating Series #4: Sapporo to Kushiro I tried the special express train "Oozora" for a 4 hour and 23 minute journey. Once we passed Chitose, the area became a dead zone for cell phone and computer signals, so it was quite boring. However, the comfortable seats made the journey bearable. As usual, I bought some snacks to try. This time, I went with Fujiya! I was tempted to get the "Touman" but there were too many pieces and I didn't want to risk getting diabetes, so I chose the waffle instead. It might not seem different, but this one looks more delicious, right? As an adult, I opted for the rum raisin waffle priced at 173 yen! Let's dig in (*゚▽゚*) The waffle was soft, with the rich rum raisin cream and plenty of whole rum raisins. It's so rich that it might make non-drinkers or kids tipsy, haha (^_^*) This is definitely a treat that should be enjoyed with French coffee or tea. I savored each bite, enjoying the flavors before the train started moving. It always happens like this. It was a delicious treat!

Due to a virus-related computer failure, the migration process for the new desktop computer has been completed. I am still unfamiliar with Windows 10 and may have transferred the virus along with the data. The computer shuts down abnormally while in use. "とうまん" is a nostalgic treat that reminds me of my late grandmother on my mother's side. It was a small snack she used to buy for me whenever we went out together. The treat was called "とうまん" and was sold at a department store called "丸井さん." The store has a long history, dating back to 1872 when it was founded by Imai Fujishichi in Sapporo. The store later expanded to Niigata Prefecture, where my grandmother was from. The "とうまん" snack was created in 1952 and consists of a small cake filled with white bean paste. It was a rare sweet treat in a time when sweets were scarce. The snack is simple and nostalgic in today's world of abundant sweets. The name "とうまん" is said to come from the founder's name, Imai Fujishichi, which was shortened to "とうしち," then further abbreviated to "とうまん." I recently visited a store called Apia with a friend. The store is located in the JR Sapporo Station area and is known for its "とうまん" treats. The treats are made with wheat flour, sugar, honey, and eggs, with a white bean paste filling. The store also offers a variation called "Cheese Dog" made with cheese cream. "とうまん" is a simple yet flavorful treat that brings back memories of my grandmother. It's a small and elegant snack that is now considered a common Japanese sweet. I always think of my grandmother when I enjoy "とうまん."

This shop is located in the underground shopping area Apia directly connected to Sapporo Station. On this day, I was walking through Apia looking for Subway, but when I passed by this shop, I suddenly felt like eating tōman. Since the pack of 6 seemed a bit too much, I bought 4 pieces individually for 54 yen each. When I warm it up in the microwave at home for a bit (about 5-10 seconds), the taste becomes even better. It has a nostalgic and simple deliciousness with white bean paste. Although they weren't making them at that time, if you catch it at the right moment, you can see the tōman being made by a machine from outside, which is quite interesting to watch. I will definitely use this shop again. Thank you for the meal!

This time in Sapporo, I was planning to buy Yumimochi and Toman. Unfortunately, the Yumimochi sold out in the morning. I saw the small machine making Toman for the first time in a long time, and it reminded me of when I used to stand in front of the machine and watch as a child. Seeing this Toman machine at the Station Department Store made me feel like I had really arrived in Sapporo. I wonder if they sell enough with that machine going patten-patten. I secretly hope that there are many fans of Toman. Toman is a delicate and elegant sweet with white bean paste. It was said to be good until the 10th when I bought it on the 7th, and even on the 10th, it was moist. I received the Toman from a cute and smiling lady who kindly served me. The receipt had "Thank you-man" written on it, which was quite playful.
