I went to visit a grave and stopped by this amazing restaurant! When you enter, you are handed a tray and can choose your favorite sushi toppings and bowl size (large 150 yen, medium 100 yen, small 50 yen) from the showcase before paying. You can help yourself to extra rice, tea, miso soup, soy sauce, and wasabi. I chose the toppings and enjoyed my meal! On this day, white fish (flounder) was half price, so I got carried away and picked too many toppings. I had a salmon and salmon roe bowl, sea urchin bowl, octopus and flounder bowl, and tuna bowl. I had four servings of rice and enjoyed my meal. The restaurant is only open on weekends from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm until October. However, sea urchin is only available until August. I took a taxi from JR Yoichi Station (a little over 100 yen one way), but there is a parking lot next to the restaurant so it's better to visit by car. The turnover is fast, so you won't have to wait long even if there are many customers. You should definitely visit this place!

I have visited the neighboring smoked food shop, Mr. Nanpoyo Tarou, several times. I'm not sure if I just didn't notice about Boumaruya before or if it recently opened, but I'm really glad I noticed it this time. I didn't realize there was a Kattedon in Yoichi! It's cheaper than the famous shops in Kushiro! By the time I arrived after 1 pm, the tuna, sweet shrimp, and salmon were sold out, but in exchange, the flounder was half price at 100 yen, which was lucky! Otoro: 300 yen - Although the menu listed Chutoro for 300 yen, the showcase had Otoro available for 300 yen. Botan shrimp: 150 yen Flounder: half price at 100 yen Scallop: 250 yen The Otoro was incredibly delicious, but the most impressive was the scallop. It was so fresh that you could feel the texture of each scallop. You can choose from large, medium, or small rice sizes, and there is a mysterious system where you can only refill once. There is soy sauce and wasabi on the table. Instant miso soup is also available. It's completely self-service. It would be great if they had vinegar rice instead of white rice and ginger on the side.

There are only about 7 seats in a row, so you might have to wait during busy times, but it's definitely worth a visit!

Located a little outside the city, this restaurant offers a calm dining experience with no crowds. You can choose the size of your bowl, select your toppings, pay first, and then serve yourself. The toppings include salmon, tuna, medium fatty tuna, yellowtail, scallop, sea urchin (500 yen), and uni (2,450 yen on this day, which was the white variety) which we shared between two people, costing just over 2,000 yen per person for a delicious seafood bowl. I would love to visit this restaurant again if I have the chance. The staff were also friendly and helpful.

I chose sea urchin and sweet shrimp as the toppings for my seafood bowl from the refrigerator. I selected the size of the bowl and paid in advance. I scooped rice onto the bowl and sat at the counter. I drained the saltwater from the sea urchin and placed it on top. The miso soup, wasabi, and soy sauce were all packaged. It's a shame that it's not vinegared rice and there's no seaweed, but the price is unbeatable. If you're looking for good value, you can enjoy a delicious sea urchin bowl in Yoichi without having to drive all the way to Biei or Shakotan!
