I visited the restaurant a little past noon on a regular day, and there were only two parking spaces available. It gets quite crowded during lunchtime. This time, I had the "Pork Cutlet Set Meal" which was a bargain at 660 yen including tax. It does not come with udon. The cutlet was about 1cm thick and had a nice flavor of fat. The rice portion is standard, but I always ask for less as I can't finish it. I had a discount coupon from my previous visit, so I paid 610 yen after a 50 yen discount. I think it offers great value for the price.

In Fukuoka, the udon restaurant "Ninryu Udon" is always packed at lunchtime. I usually don't like soft noodles, but the udon here is delicious even though it's soft. The noodles are soft yet have a good texture, and they taste great. The must-have topping is the burdock tempura. When it's freshly fried, it's unbeatable. The prices are reasonable, the food is delicious, and they even give you a service voucher (50 yen). I want to visit at least once a week.

I visited for lunch. Despite being just before noon, there were only about three parking spaces available. It seems like there are not enough parking spaces for the number of seats. I ordered the "Stamina Udon" for 640 yen including tax, and my colleague ordered the "Stamina Udon Set" for 890 yen including tax. The set comes with two kashiwa onigiri (chicken rice balls) and a vegetable salad for a price difference of 250 yen. The Stamina Udon comes topped with meat, burdock tempura, wakame seaweed, green onions, and a raw egg. The raw egg is small, is it a chicken egg? The udon noodles have a soft and chewy texture, and the lightly flavored soup is delicious. I added yuzu pepper to the soup halfway through to change the flavor. It was so delicious that I even finished the soup.

"The 'Stamina Karaage Udon Set' is a lifesaver when you're starving. I don't usually go to chain restaurants, but this place is great because it's open late. They also offer a kake udon set for even cheaper, but I prefer the stamina set. It's loaded with toppings and even comes with karaage. This set is unbeatable. When it comes to sets, I personally prefer Ramen from Ra Ra Ra and Udon from Jinrai. It's not just about the taste, it fills my heart. Waist and Jinrai Udon are a part of my life. They really save me."

I visited the Hitoiki Udon restaurant in Goshogawa, Kurume City. It is located right near the Autobacs. It seems like a popular spot for people to come and eat. I occasionally visit the Hitoiki series, as they offer slightly more affordable prices and you can get quite full. The noodles are from Fukuyama Seimenjo, and they are soft without much chewiness, absorbing the broth well. The meal also came with crispy chicken and rice. The taste is consistent with what I usually expect from udon. It feels like I came here to have a regular meal. The restaurant was quite busy. Thank you for the meal.

First time visiting this restaurant. I ordered the fried chicken udon set and the cold udon set. The udon noodles are flat and chewy. The fried chicken was freshly fried, crispy on the outside like a snack. It seems like a fried chicken that kids would love. The cold udon also had flat noodles, probably the same as the udon set, but they were smooth and easy to eat. The grilled chicken rice ball had a slightly burnt flavor and was delicious! Overall, I think it's good value for money. Both dishes were delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Founded as a noodle making business in 1905 in Tosu City, Saga Prefecture, "Jinrikiya (now: Fukuyama Seimenjo)" has since expanded to include a chain of direct-operated stores called "Jinriki Udon." They continue to operate in both the noodle making and food service industries. In the noodle making division, they produce hand-stretched udon, La-men noodles, and special fresh pasta. In the food service division, they have 12 "Jinriki Udon" stores and 4 "Fukunoya" Kyurume Ramen stores in Saga and Fukuoka prefectures. This time, we visited "Jinriki Udon Higashi Aikawa Store," located just 2-3 minutes by car from the Kurume Interchange on the Kyushu Expressway. The area near the Kurume Interchange also has the famous "Tachibana Udon," but it seemed very crowded, so we opted for this place instead. However, this place was also quite busy, especially during the year-end lunch rush and with takeout customers. Everyone loves udon, right? The interior of the store has counter seats and table seats. The main menu includes kake udon for 250 yen, gobou tempura udon for 390 yen, round tempura udon for 390 yen, and meat udon for 470 yen, all at very affordable prices. The gobou tempura in the gobou tempura udon is the typical type of diagonally sliced tempura. The side dish of kashiwa onigiri is 90 yen each. There is also soba on the menu alongside udon. Despite all this, my colleague ordered the "Double Ebi Tempura Udon" for 650 yen, which was unexpected for a local choice. The shrimp tempura was relatively large. The udon was soft as expected. I had finished work, so I ordered a beer (laughs). Bottled beer (medium) includes a choice of Asahi and Kirin. *There is no draft beer. In the self-service corner of the store, there were tenkasu (tempura bits) and pickles, so I started with pickled daikon. For snacks, I chose the "Round Tempura Negi," which seemed more local, but I went with my favorite, fried chicken. The taste was soy sauce-flavored fried chicken with a tempura-like coating. It was crispy and delicious. Thank you for the meal. Visited with my daughters on Sunday afternoon. It was really hot every day, so we opted for zaru udon. Zaru udon set for ¥590, with ¥100 coupon used for ¥490. The smooth zaru udon was refreshing. The kashiwa rice was also delicious. The interior of the restaurant is warm udon style, but the air conditioning is blasting so it gets cold while eating (laughs). Next time, I'll try the hot udon.

I visited during lunchtime after 12 PM. It was quite crowded. I ordered the "meat udon" for 470 yen including tax. The tempura flakes were served as a complimentary side. Previously, the tempura flakes and finely chopped pickled radish were placed in the bowl. Before COVID, it was a self-service option, but now you have to ask the staff for it. The udon noodles were soft and chewy. The soup seemed to be made with bonito and kelp. The light soup combined with the sweetness of the meat fat and the oil from the tempura flakes was very delicious. I finished both the noodles and the soup. This udon dish being under a coin is great value for money.

I ordered a Gyudon set for lunch. The description mentioned that the Gyudon has a distinctive broth, but it tasted normal (lol). The udon, typical of Fukuoka, was soft and had a unique texture. It seems like the restaurant's specialty is the udon. I felt like it had a flat texture. I also tried the kashiwa onigiri, which was delicious.

In the center of Kurume City, along National Route 210, there is a shop called Fukuyama Seimenjo that serves udon noodles. Tonight, I tried their "Ninryoku Udon" for the first time, and it was packed with families for weekend dinner. I couldn't find the katsudon on the menu, so I ordered the Roast Pork Cutlet Udon Set (760 yen including tax). Pickled radish and tempura bits were free. The udon noodles are similar in texture to the ones I had at Kensan Udon recently, but a little softer. Still, the udon here is delicious. The broth has a depth of flavor while remaining refreshing. Oh, this is also nice. The roast pork cutlet comes with their original sauce already poured over it. The sauce is tasty, and adding a bit of ketchup and soy sauce enhances the richness. The cabbage comes with a Japanese-style dressing. The portion size is satisfying, and my stomach is full. The reasonable price is also appealing. I would like to visit this place again if I have the chance. Thank you for the meal!

I went on a business trip to Kurume, and of course for lunch, I had to choose between tonkotsu ramen or soft and chewy udon. I stumbled upon a handmade udon shop and decided to give it a try. It was just before 1 pm, and there were plenty of seats available. Looking at the menu, I was drawn to the Stamina Udon, which was loaded with ingredients like tempura, sweet meat, egg, and seaweed. The udon itself was reasonably priced, but the toppings could add up. I ordered the Stamina Udon for 560 yen (tax included). The menu explained that the udon was cooked in a pressure cooker, which was interesting. The udon arrived in about 10 minutes, and it looked delicious in a large bowl. The udon was soft and chewy as expected. The secret to its texture might be in the way it's cooked. The meat was sweet and flavorful, standing out alongside the broth. Once again, I enjoyed a delicious bowl of udon. Thank you for the meal.

When it comes to udon in Kurume City, people think of Jinriki Udon. It's a udon chain that is mainly found in the southern part of Fukuoka Prefecture and inside Saga Prefecture. This time, feeling a bit tired, I had the Stamina Udon. It includes burdock tempura, beef, wakame seaweed, and a raw egg for only 550 yen, which is a great deal. The taste is not too sweet, with a strong dashi flavor. If you find udon from places like Makino Udon or Sanchan Udon too sweet, this is recommended. The noodles are soft, typical of Kyushu udon. Personally, I like soft noodles, so this udon was a hit for me.

It's a typhoon. Can't go far in this situation, and the nearby golf practice range is closed. I'm bored. I decided to go to Kurume Library to organize some documents. After desk work, I'll have lunch at "Jinriki Udon Higashiaikawa Store" because I had a 100 yen discount coupon. The location is along Route 210 Bypass, a bit further from the center of Kurume city. It's a suburban store, so no need to worry about parking. Plus, it's a typhoon day, so I can park wherever I want. The entrance of the store is in the center of the building. When you enter, there are seating areas on the left and right. The larger capacity is on the right side. In the middle of the right hall, there is a shared table for 6 people with partitions. Since I'm visiting alone, I chose to sit here. There are also many 4-person table seats and raised tatami seating. The seating layout is mainly low tables. I ordered the "Stamina Udon" (550 yen → 450 yen with coupon, tax included). Toppings include seaweed, meat, egg, and burdock, making it a great deal. This store offers self-service water and ice. After filling water at the water dispenser, you pour ice using a scoop next to the ice maker. After all, it's a meal for 450 yen. This level of effort is within reasonable limits. After a while, the udon is served. I try it. The noodles are thick and fluffy, soft, and smooth. However, the soup is lukewarm. Whether it was originally lukewarm, the bowl wasn't warmed, or it was left after being cooked, it's disappointing. I thought about asking for a remake, but the lukewarm temperature was subtle. And by the time I hesitated, time had passed, and I couldn't bring myself to say anything. The cooking skills are ⤵, but the topping's value for money is ⤴, so overall ☆3. I won't revisit this place for lunch during a storm. Thank you for the meal.

I randomly found a udon restaurant on Higashi Aikawa-cho in Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture, on a day off during the Bon holiday. I arrived at 2:00 pm and there were about 20 customers already. Surprisingly, there were 9 staff members working. I wonder if udon restaurants are profitable. The menu mentioned that they use a pressure cooker to boil the noodles, which got me excited. I ordered the Niku Udon for 450 yen. Since the place was crowded, it took about 6 minutes for the order to arrive. They had tempura bits available at the self-service corner, so I added a little to my bowl and waited. The noodles had a nice chewy texture, not too firm but still great. The thinly sliced meat was tender and there was a decent amount of it. The meat broth added a slightly sweet taste to the soup, which also had a strong flavor of bonito and kelp. I regret not getting the large size for an extra 110 yen. I added too much tempura bits, which altered the original taste of the soup. Later, I found out that this restaurant chain has 4 locations in Kurume City. I think the headquarters might be in Tosu City, Saga Prefecture. In Fukuoka, there are other budget udon restaurants like West, Komugi-chi, Sanchan, and Jinrikisan, which are quite convenient. Only West and Sanchan are open 24 hours. I don't really go to Sanchan though!
