Visit date: July 24, 2023 (Monday) Today's lunch is at the famous restaurant "Menya Itto" in Shinkoiwa, which is my 80th visit. Since the "Rich Konbu Water Tsukemen Predator" was served on April 15th during the "Menya Itto 13th Anniversary x Chukasoba Mantoriken 5th Anniversary Collaboration," there have been monthly limited-time offerings and Wednesday specials, but there hasn't been a standout limited-time item. However, a new limited-time item called "HOTACON" will be available from July 24th as the "July Seasonal Limited Edition," inspired by the popular "Hotate Biyori" in Akihabara. The sign says, "The way you eat is up to you, we won't tell you about the trending eating methods." This caught my interest, so I had to go try it out. I planned to arrive at the restaurant by 10:30 am, but due to unexpected errands in the morning, I ended up arriving just past noon. Surprisingly, I didn't have to wait long and got to enjoy my meal within 20 minutes of arriving. The restaurant seemed less crowded, possibly due to the scorching heat this year. This allowed me to have a quick and enjoyable dining experience. The "HOTACON" Tsukemen was beautifully presented with smoked scallops, rare chicken breast and pork shoulder chashu, and thin menma on top of the noodles, served with a dipping broth containing chicken cartilage wonton and summer-like winter melon stew. The dish also came with smoked salt, truffle-infused duxelles, and fried shallots for flavor enhancement, along with truffle oil on the side. The toppings and flavor enhancers were thoughtfully prepared. The Tsukemen noodles were smooth and had a firm texture, offering a delightful eating experience. The smoked salt added a sweet note to the wheat flour umami, creating a delicious combination.

I went to a nearby area for work, so for lunch that day, I decided to visit Ramenya Itto for the first time in a while. I wanted to try their September limited edition dish, the Kamokon (duck soba in kombu water). I arrived around 10:40 am and they were already open, so I was able to get in without waiting. The noodles were beautiful and delicious! They had a smooth texture like Inaniwa udon, and the kombu water they were soaked in had a luxurious taste. When eaten with wasabi salt, it was a perfect match! I felt like I could finish it all with just that! When dipped in the broth, it became even more delicious with a synergistic effect, and the flavor changed with yuzu and duck oil, so I finished the 300g serving in no time. The roasted duck breast topping was also tender and had a luxurious taste. It was truly a duck soba made by a ramen shop with serious skills! I want to eat it again at least one more time~

②September 25, 2023 (24th visit of the year) Visited with the intention of trying the September seasonal limited edition "Duck Konbu Tsukemen ~ KAMOCON" available from September 25 (Mon) to 30 (Sat) (excluding Wed, Sep 27). Arrived before lunch and had to wait for 40 minutes. Ordered the "Duck Konbu Tsukemen ~ KAMOCON" (1380 yen) with a "medium" size (free with app coupon). The rich and sweet soup made from Ibaraki duck, scallop, konbu, and dashi made from bonito flakes is generously used to soak the noodles in the luxurious Gagome Konbu water. Served with smoked duck breast chashu, wasabi salt, Cantonese-style shredded pork, yuzu, and duck fat on the side. The smooth texture of the noodles, coated in Konbu water, combined with the flavors of just wasabi salt and the broth with shredded pork and duck fat were particularly delicious. With a variety of toppings, it was enjoyable until the last bite. ①September 13, 2023 (23rd visit of the year) Visited to try the September Wednesday limited edition "Hiyashi Chuka" which was initially planned but due to unsatisfactory quality, it was replaced with the "Soupless Chicken Paitan Soba" starting from this day (limited to 10 servings for lunch and dinner on Wednesdays in September). Ordered the "Soupless Chicken Paitan Soba" (1200 yen) with salt. Toppings included chicken chashu, two types of pork chashu, mushroom paste, fried onion, white and green onions, chopped scallions, and nori. The flavorful mushroom paste coated the thin noodles well, creating a delicious taste. The clear soup could be enjoyed on its own or by dipping the noodles in it. The crispy texture of fried onion and the spiciness of chopped scallions added a nice touch to the dish. The "Soupless Chicken Paitan Soba" was offered for the first time in about 2 years and 4 months, with a change to thin noodles, but the deliciousness remained the same. (Continued)

Thick tsukemen was a boom from a decade ago, and I had tried it at various shops, but I had traumas from experiences like the dipping sauce being too salty or the noodles being too hard, so I had been avoiding it for many years. I had expectations and anxieties when visiting Ichiryu, thinking "Maybe Ichiryu will be different!" When I searched the shop online, I found out that reservations had been available online for the past three days, so I decided to make a trip there! When I arrived a little before the reservation time, a female staff member at the entrance guided me to buy a meal ticket and wait outside, allowing me to enter smoothly. I had received a coupon for a free medium or large size upgrade for the special tsukemen by registering the shop's app, so I ordered the medium size. Shortly after sitting down, the dish arrived. Despite my initial worries about its rich appearance, I took a sip of the soup... It was rich, but the umami spread in my mouth, the richness was just right, and it was incredibly delicious! I immediately dipped the noodles and tasted their chewy texture and the noodles' flavor? Sweetness? Umami? combined with the dipping sauce, creating an unbelievably delicious taste!! I was so impressed by the deliciousness that I couldn't stop eating. The three types of chashu toppings were also meticulously made, adding a luxurious taste. But the noodles were really delicious! No, the dipping sauce too! The medium size had quite a volume, but I finished it in no time. I was moved by the deliciousness that blew away my trauma from the long-awaited thick tsukemen. It's a bit far from where I live, but I definitely want to go back and eat it again. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I made a reservation on the EPARK app for Sunday at 14:00 three days ago. When I arrived at the restaurant at 13:15 and informed the staff that I had made a reservation on EPARK, they checked my name and asked me to buy a meal ticket. Since the rice dishes were already sold out, I opted for the special dipping noodles in medium size. I was instructed to return to the front of the restaurant at 13:50. After taking a short walk around the area, I returned at 13:45 and my name for the EPARK reservation was called. I entered the restaurant and my ramen arrived at 13:55. The chashu, noodles, and soup were all delicious. Even if you go directly to the restaurant, you can still eat if you wait in line. I recommend making an EPARK reservation as there are various points to note when making a reservation.

A unique tsukemen with a rich chicken broth soup mixed with five kinds of seafood and crustaceans, cooked to a high concentration that cannot be imitated elsewhere. The menu includes half-boiled seasoned egg rich seafood tsukemen and special rich seafood tsukemen. The space is welcoming to men, women, and families.

Second visit. It was raining last time too. The customer next to me was making some weird moves while waiting, so I had a bad feeling about it. When I sat down, he had already drunk two beers before the ramen arrived. Maybe he had a bad day at work. Then he seemed disappointed when he realized he had ordered ramen instead of tsukemen. I couldn't help but think he's not very bright.

There is always a long line during lunchtime. I had been wanting to try it but couldn't get in because I didn't have much connection to this area of Shinkoiwa. Recently, I have had reasons to visit this area frequently. I was lucky to be the second person in line outside, so I finally got to visit. The noodles have a nice wheat aroma and the dipping sauce is hot, which is different from the usual cold dipping noodles. The dipping sauce has a strong umami flavor from seafood and a rich flavor from animal ingredients. Although my expectations were high, the dipping noodles were delicious. I would like to visit again when I am in the area.

I went to this restaurant for a holiday lunch after a long time. It's hard to make reservations on weekends, but on this holiday, there were several slots available even though I booked two days in advance. I ordered my usual rich seafood dipping noodles, and this week I was able to get extra noodles with a coupon, so I got a large portion. I also added one piece each of pork and chicken chashu as toppings. As always, the noodles, soup, and ingredients were delicious, and I finished them in no time. It was also nice to get a free refill of the large portion of soup. Thank you for the meal.

Menya Itto @ Shinkoiwa - A shop like this - - A popular ramen shop in Shinkoiwa known for their tsukemen - You can now make reservations at E-Park, highly recommended - You can buy food tickets on-site, but re-entry is allowed only after 1 hour - They seemed to have collaborated with Lawson or some convenience store - Note that they only accept cash for the food ticket system - Open from 11-15, 18-21, check Twitter for closing days - Ordered dish - - Rich seafood tsukemen (¥1,080) - Impressions - - Personally, I didn't find it worth waiting an hour to get in - The chicken meatballs had a slight unpleasant smell - Overall, it seems like it's more popular based on cost performance rather than taste - Reviews were mostly positive, but I wonder why - It's recommended to make a reservation since there's no waiting time in advance Thank you for the meal.

I visited around 18:30 on Saturday and was impressed that I could immediately sit down after purchasing my meal ticket, even though I expected to wait outside for a while. The popular restaurant has a good turnover rate. I ordered the special dipping noodles, and although I could taste the seafood flavor, it wasn't overpowering. Normally, I only take a few sips of the soup after mixing it, but this time, the soup was so delicious that I ended up finishing it all. The chashu was also tender and tasty.

After several years, I visited this place again. Despite the reservation system, there were not many people waiting in line. Last time, I really enjoyed the chashu so I ordered the chashu tsukemen and also a salt ramen for a change. The tsukemen, although it looked appetizing, wasn't as amazing as people make it out to be. It was good, but not exceptional. As for the salt ramen, it didn't really resonate with me. It seemed like they were trying to showcase the flavor of the chicken, but I couldn't quite grasp it. What disappointed me the most was that even though I had informed the staff that I was having two bowls, they brought out the second bowl when I had only eaten about 70% of the first one. Even though there were staff members around, it felt rushed and took away from the experience. By the time I finished the salt ramen and went back to the tsukemen, the dipping sauce had already turned cold. It really killed the mood for me. The chashu wasn't as impressive as before either. It's no wonder that there were fewer people lining up now.

"Menya Itto's special rich fish broth dipping noodles. It's a unique type of animal seafood. The chicken white broth base mixed with thick fish broth creates a perfect combination with the firm thick noodles. It's incredibly delicious. The three types of chashu were also good. The flavored egg was average. 2023.9.13 2023-421 Menya Itto ◎ Special Rich Seafood Tsukemen 1680 yen I purchased a meal ticket. When there is a reservation or a line, you line up in front of the store, purchase a meal ticket, receive a numbered ticket, and then gather again at a designated time. I had some errands nearby, so I visited after a long time. Unfortunately, they were sold out of regular dishes, but I ordered the tsukemen to lift my spirits. Since they didn't have regular dishes, I should have at least ordered a larger portion, but my usual habit made me order a regular size. As always, the rich and creamy broth was of high quality. The bowl was served piping hot as usual. The noodles were thick and chewy. Toppings included green onions, white onions, bamboo shoots, and a meatball with cartilage in the broth. It was delicious. On top of the noodles were seaweed and a seasoned egg. The chashu consisted of chicken breast, two types of pork (shoulder loin and boiled pork). The consistent deliciousness of the chashu was satisfying. I enjoyed the soup refill from the pot on the counter and finished it all. The soup is best when it's as hot as the bowl. Thank you for the meal. #Ramen #Tsukemen #MenyaItto #RamenMemoir #Noodlestagram #Katsushika, Tokyo #ExperimentalNoodleLift #ChashuLift

I visited the restaurant without knowing that I could wait in line on Epark after 8:00 PM on a regular night, probably because it was close to closing time. Luckily, I didn't have to wait long and was seated in about 15 minutes. I am a big fan of their frozen dipping noodles, always keeping about 5 packs at home. I had the Special Rich Seafood Dipping Noodles for 1,680 yen with an extra serving for 100 yen. It was definitely tastier than the frozen noodles. The dipping sauce was delicious, just like I remembered.

I visited the famous ramen restaurant Ichitou on a Sunday night! There are two ways to line up here: making a reservation in advance or visiting without one. I chose to visit without a reservation. When I arrived around 7:15 PM, there were already 6 people waiting in line. It seemed like making a reservation in advance might be better, but I don't mind waiting, so I might choose to visit without a reservation next time as well. The waiting space is quite narrow. First, I purchased the meal tickets, and when I handed them to the staff, I received a numbered ticket to wait until my number was called. I ordered the Special Rich Seafood Tsukemen, while my companion ordered the Rich Seafood Ramen. It took about 30 minutes to enter the restaurant and another 10 minutes for the food to be served. The Special Tsukemen was truly delicious. The strong chicken flavor of the broth combined with the gentle seafood taste was rich and satisfying. The richness of the seafood broth, along with the depth and gentleness of the crustacean dashi, stood out impressively. The noodles were a bit on the smaller side, but they had a firm texture that complemented the rich soup well, providing a hint of sweetness from the wheat flour. Each topping was delicious, showing the dedication to quality. The tsukune (chicken meatball) added a refreshing touch. Before I knew it, I had finished my meal. Enjoying the second half with the dipping soup made the soup milder and still delicious until the end. My companion's seafood ramen had a chicken broth base with thin noodles that paired well with the soup, making it easy to eat. It was quite rich but without any fishy taste, making it enjoyable. The rich tsukemen at this legendary restaurant was incredibly delicious, especially the sweetness from the crustaceans which was quite impressive to me. While there are many places that serve rich seafood or chicken broth, combining them perfectly and adding the unique flavor of crustaceans makes it truly legendary. Thank you for the meal!

Tsukemen noodle shop in Shinkoiwa, Menya Itto, is a must-visit spot. I had the special rich seafood-based tsukemen in a medium portion. The thick, straight noodles had a good chewiness, and the soup was rich and flavorful. This tsukemen is like a perfect example of what tsukemen should be. It may be basic, but it's the best and most delicious tsukemen you can find!

Menya Itto in Shinkoiwa Station is a popular ramen shop where you have to get a ticket or make a reservation to avoid long lines. They collaborate with NISSHIN, Lawson, and department stores. Here are some key points: - Noodles: They offer 6 types of noodles made from 3 types of wheat flour. - Chicken: They use Tsukuba Akane chicken, which is raised with plant-based materials, resulting in a fine texture and rich flavor. - Soup: Their light soup ramen uses a special technique called "vacuum low-temperature cooking" to seal in the flavor of the chashu. - Recommended Dish: Half-boiled seasoned egg with rich seafood dipping noodles for ¥1,230. Arrangement: I made a web reservation. Highly recommended! It's smooth and very convenient, unlike going on a whim! Order: Rich seafood ramen. I visited Ichitou for the first time in a while. Their tsukemen is outstanding as always. This time, I tried their ramen, and it was rich and flavorful without being overpowering. It was delicious until the last drop. I finished it completely. The chashu was also flavorful and delicious. I would like to try a different menu next time.

~Special rich seafood dipping noodles, medium size, with char siu~ Noodle shop Ichitou, which was also introduced on "Matsuko no Shiranai Sekai". This is the shop where I first got hooked on dipping noodles. I arrived around 10:00 on Saturday and got a ticket for 10:40 to enter! The thick noodles, firm and full of wheat flavor, are perfect without any toppings – I want to eat them with white rice. The soup, where the umami of each ingredient is condensed, is indescribably delicious. It's always amazing no matter when you eat it! I couldn't stop eating. The melty flavored egg, thick menma, and three types of char siu are also outstanding! The char siu in the middle has been renewed. I finished it in no time, even with soup splitting! On this day, I received a char siu and medium size for free with a coupon from the app. Don't forget to download the app when you visit. If you haven't been there yet, please go soon!
