I thought Thirteen Higoshime was a standing bar, but they actually had chairs. There was no counter seating, but the back tatami room was full of groups. It seemed like a one-person operation and the owner looked busy. I ordered skewers, tomatoes, and tomato chu-hai. The seasoning was mild and nice, not as strong as what you usually find at places catering to younger people. Unlike a certain famous restaurant, they didn't use charcoal for grilling. The owner seemed like a talkative type, but was too busy to chat. For some reason, we were given a cream puff as a service. That's all.

On weekends around 11:00 PM, the place was bustling. Located about a 5-minute walk from Juusan Station, at the end of a restaurant district. All seats allow smoking. In the front, there is a counter, and in the back, there are tatami rooms. It's an interesting shop with a unique system. The owner runs the place alone, so customers end up helping out a lot. The food was overall average, but reasonably priced. Thank you for the meal.

It was another stressful week, but on Friday night, I went to Juso to relax. On July 16, 2021, I visited Nisshan, a yakitori restaurant I was curious about. I had a set with 4 assorted skewers, pig trotters, ajillo, pork hamburger, mimigar (pig ear), and edamame. It had been a while since I had yakitori, and it was delicious. The Mokkori (beer + makgeolli) was dangerously tasty. The tonkatsu was sold out, so I tried the recommended hamburger, which was also delicious. And the mimigar was a great side dish. It was an intimate atmosphere with regular customers frequenting the place. I would like to visit again. #Nisshan #Juso

Visited in July 2021 ◎At the time of posting on Tabelog, it had a rating of 3.02 (2 reviews) ■Tipsy Set 500 yen (tax included) *Drink + 2 skewers (17:30-20:00) I went to a standing bar for a special event, but it was crowded with customers and I couldn't get in (ノД`). The staff told me to come back after some time, so I was wondering what to do (^^; I decided to take a stroll and explore the Juso area, which I had never walked before. I happened to come across a "yakiton" restaurant with a signboard outside advertising a "Tipsy Set" - 2 skewers and a drink for only one coin, which seemed like a good way to pass the time. I sat at the counter, ordered, and while waiting, I checked the Tabelog reviews... there was only one review, and it was from Gogayama-san! (≧∇≦) Well done! Just before posting, I saw that the reviews had increased to 2, and it was also from My Review's Su-san! Well done again! (〃▽〃) I raised a toast with a Super Dry beer (^_^)/□☆□\(^_^) The owner asked me, "Do you have any dislikes?" and I replied, "Anything is fine (^^)." So I was served "kashira" and "hatsu" skewers (^∇^) The hatsu had a firm texture with no unpleasant smell, very delicious. The kashira had a chewy and bouncy texture with a rich flavor. It was also great with the special miso sauce. As I left the restaurant, I prayed that a seat would open up at the standing bar soon. The yakiton was delicious, but I'm also curious about the unexpected menu items like omelette rice, pasta, and pilaf. I wonder where I'll go next, some of you might have an idea. Thank you for the meal.

Today, I went to Juso for work... After working really hard for a while, it was already past 9 pm... I felt like having a drink on the way home. I was in the mood for yakitori. There are still not many places in Osaka where you can eat yakitori. So, I decided to stop by Nisshan, a place I passed by and was curious about. I entered around 9:30 pm. There were 2 groups of 3 customers already there. A friendly female waitress welcomed me. I sat at the empty counter seat and ordered a drink. Cheers to me for a hard day's work. I ordered the following items: Food: - Assorted skewers (5 pieces) 580 yen - Karaage (fried chicken) 380 yen - Skewer grilled harami (skirt steak) 120 yen - Skewer grilled gatsu (guts) 100 yen - Skewer grilled maruchou (pork intestines) 140 yen Drinks: - Draft beer 400 yen - Hoppy (beer-based cocktail) 400 yen - Naka (not sure about the price) The assorted skewers come with salt and sauce served separately. There was no explanation of the cuts, but it seemed like salt included tongue, shoulder, belly, and teppo (probably). The sauce included teppo (probably). The salt was slightly salty overall, which was just right as a drinking snack. The sauce was a bit sweet, also suitable as a drinking snack. The teppo (probably) cut had a slightly noticeable unique smell, but it was tolerable. The karaage was made of pork and had a crispy coating. It was coated with a slightly sweet sauce. The meat was tasty, but the fatty parts were a bit tough. I ordered additional skewers of harami, gatsu, and maruchou because I wanted more yakitori. The harami was meaty and delicious. The gatsu could have been crispier for my taste and had a slightly stronger smell. The maruchou had a creamy fatty part that was tasty, but the smell was a bit noticeable. There are not many places in Osaka where you can eat yakitori, so this restaurant is a valuable find. The cozy atmosphere was nice too. Thank you for the meal.
