Pochi Pochi
Let's have lunch at Papa Milano on the 27th floor of Hankyu 32nd Street. I usually eat in places closer to the ground like under the elevated train tracks, underground malls, or shopping streets, so eating on the 27th floor of a building is a rare experience for me. I had the impression that this place, coordinated by Hankyu, would serve fancy dishes. I was seated by the window, with a great view all the way to Mount Ikoma. The chandeliers have a unique shape, and the tables are spaced far apart. I ordered the Leggero set for 1700 yen on weekdays, which includes spaghetti, antipasto, and dolce. I chose the tomato spaghetti with eggplant and mozzarella cheese, and the cream spaghetti with porcini mushrooms and chicken. I informed the server that I wanted to share. The antipasto arrived, with salmon, prosciutto, roast duck, pumpkin potato salad, and scallop something. It was really good, much better than the messy antipasto with olive oil and tomatoes common in Italian cuisine. The onion soup was delicious too, I wish there was more to drink. The bread included baguette and milk bread, which was like a luxurious version of Yamazaki's milk bread with a hint of sweetness and milk flavor. The pasta arrived on a plate without a wide brim, and it was filled generously. I love cream pasta, and this one was rich but not too heavy, with tender chicken. For dessert, I had dolce and coffee. Overall, the meal had a good portion size and was satisfying, without the pretentiousness I initially expected from a fancy Italian restaurant.
