Located in Naka River City, Fukuoka Prefecture, is the rich pork bone ramen restaurant "Ramen Kukai Naka River Main Store." The basic pork bone ramen is of course popular, but the chef, who is both enthusiastic and playful, also creates interesting original ramen dishes from time to time. While Fukuoka now has many non-pork bone and creative ramen shops, not too long ago, there were more conservative establishments. Among them, the chef here may have been a pioneering figure. The restaurant was established in 2004. Today's visit is after a very long time. It's a bit far from where I live, so I couldn't go there often. The interior has counter seats and raised table seats. Being in the suburbs, the layout is relatively spacious. The interior is decorated with various knick-knacks, making it interesting to look at. If it's your first visit, I recommend trying the basic rich pork bone ramen or the creatively colored versions based on the basic one. There are white (rich pork bone) as the flagship, as well as black, brown, red, blue, yellow, and green pork bone ramen. This time, we tried the tsukemen, which we had never eaten before. The menu notes "Limited quantity," "Takes time," and "No soup refills." Kukai Special Tsukemen (regular size) is 780 yen. Toppings include 2 slices of chashu, half-boiled egg, green onions, and bamboo shoots. The regular size noodle portion is 200g, which might be a bit insufficient for men, so my colleague went for the large size at 980 yen. The large size is 400g. The noodles are whole wheat noodles with a brownish speckled appearance, giving them a flavorful taste. They are smooth, medium-thick, flat noodles. The soup is a seafood pork bone broth, but it's not the thick, rich type that is popular nowadays, it's rather light. Perhaps even those who are not fans of seafood pork bone broth might find it acceptable. It's a gentlemanly seafood pork bone broth with not too much fat, making it somewhat healthy. While there is no soup refill system, the soup after finishing the noodles is drinkable as it is. There are many seafood pork bone tsukemen shops, but I thought it was impressive to see this level of sophistication. Thank you for the meal.【Shop Name】Ramen Kukai Naka River Main Store【Address】1-1-1 Matsuki, Naka River City, Fukuoka Prefecture【Business Hours】11:00-15:00 (L.O. 14:50), 18:00-23:00 (L.O. 22:50) *Please confirm【Regular Holiday】Irregular holidays *Please confirm※5 minutes walk from Nishitetsu Bus Shimonakahara or Nakahara stop. 8 minutes walk from JR Hakata Minami Station.
