"Ramen Kukai" in Naka River City Matsuki I visited the popular ramen restaurant "Ramen Kukai" in Naka River City Matsuki, which had a great reputation on social media. First of all, the menu here is amazing! It has a variety of options that are quite interesting. They offer white, black, red, brown, blue, yellow, and green tonkotsu ramen. To put it simply, they have basic, burnt garlic, spicy seafood, curry, and green onion flavors. They also have limited edition ramen and tsukemen, so first-timers might have a hard time deciding. They even explain the firmness of the noodles: extra firm (2 seconds), firm (5 seconds), regular (10 seconds), soft (1 minute), and extra soft (1 minute 30 seconds). I ordered the Kukai Ramen with all toppings (basic white tonkotsu) for 990 yen and the C set (half fried rice, half gyoza) for 550 yen. It's a set with a generous amount of food. I now understand why this ramen is so popular! It's incredibly delicious! The soup looks rich, but it's actually very mild. It has a trendy hybrid flavor while still maintaining a nostalgic taste. Slurping the thin firm noodles was a series of delicious moments. It's hard to explain, but it's just so tasty. Please try this ramen at least once. I highly recommend it! Thank you for the meal. I had the opportunity to go to Hakata Minami area at night, so I visited with an empty stomach. I ordered the White Tonkotsu Ramen for ¥640 with an extra noodle refill for ¥150, and the Donburi Chahan for ¥600. The tonkotsu ramen was rich with bone marrow, almost overflowing. It felt like it could have a beneficial effect on the skin, like a strong hot spring. The flavor was bold with a prominent pork bone taste, rich yet not heavy, making it feel gentle on the body. The Donburi Chahan was amazing, I made the right choice not to go for the half portion!

I had some errands to run in Kasuga, so I decided to look for a ramen restaurant there. I saw Kukai Ramen popping up on Facebook, so I decided to give it a try. The parking lot was empty, so I went in and found the counter full but two empty tables, so I sat at one of them. Looking at the menu, there were various colored ramen options, and not sure what to choose, I went with the spicy red one since I like spicy food. I also ordered a half fried rice set. The ramen (600 yen) and half fried rice (370 yen) turned out to be more expensive than expected. After waiting for about 15 minutes, the ramen arrived. It was spicy miso ramen with thin noodles, green onions, chashu, and the broth was red in color with spicy miso. I realized later that everything had spicy miso on it, so I wished I had chosen something milder. It had a strong taste of doubanjiang, and the fried rice was lightly seasoned. There were no condiments on the table, so I couldn't adjust the flavor. Overall, it was okay, not as good as I had hoped. Thank you for the meal!

I had a delicious ramen with a green color and half fried rice set for 1130 yen. The ramen had a generous amount of bean sprouts and green onions, and the sweet pork bone soup paired well with the firm noodles. The fried rice was moist and flavorful even without sauce. Seasonings were provided at the table, and I added pepper and garlic before finishing the meal.

Hello, this is Maruharu ^ ^ Today I wanted to eat ramen! I went to my favorite ramen shop in Fukuoka. It's called "Menya Kukai" in Naka River City. It's incredibly delicious. It's a shop that I don't want to introduce too much, haha, but I want people to know about it. The soup is rich but not heavy. The noodles and soup go perfectly together. The soup doesn't leave you feeling like something is missing. I think there is no ramen shop that can beat this one. And it's only 600 yen per bowl. It's unbelievable what you can get for this price. This is one of the shops that I highly recommend. Thank you for the delicious meal ^ ^

■ Overall Review I had seen the sign for "tsukemen" at this restaurant while driving to buy bread from Pus-san before, so I decided to come back and try it out. This place offers a wide variety of ramen options. Most regular customers probably choose the white tonkotsu ramen or the black tonkotsu ramen from Kumamoto, but I decided to go for the "yellow tonkotsu ramen" with curry pork bone broth, which is a bit of a curveball choice. I think I might be the only one who chooses this option right off the bat! ■ Yellow Tonkotsu Ramen It was pretty much what I expected, but surprisingly delicious. I guess I just really like curry ramen. ■ Rice + Soup Refill I always look forward to this when it's curry-based. It really tastes like curry! ■ Gyoza The gyoza was on the smaller side, but still quite tasty. Next time, I want to try the half-fried rice + tsukemen or the blue tonkotsu ramen. Thank you for the meal!

Hello, this is Maruharu ^_^ Today, I took my grandpa out for lunch to a ramen restaurant called "Ramen Kukai" in Naka River, Fukuoka City. Once you go there, you won't be able to stop going back because it's so delicious and you can eat for around 600 yen. It's my number one ramen shop on my list. Thank you for the meal today ^_^

I went to Naka River to eat ramen. The waitress was a cute lady with a sweet voice. She explained everything to me. Kukai, who handles ramen in seven colors, would even surprise Kobo Daishi. The lunch was slightly discounted. The large serving of black ramen was 690 yen plus an extra helping for 130 yen. I took a sip of the broth. Oh, it's rich and thick with blackened sesame oil. However, there was not much broth. Maybe they only gave a regular amount of broth? Even after adding an extra helping, the broth didn't increase. Of course not. I continued eating, thinking of it as tsukemen. Is this odd feeling due to the roughness of the noodles, the richness with slightly less umami, or is it because my heart is dark? The answer remains a mystery.

Pork bone broth-based ramen with various unique twists. They offer seven types of ramen in seven different colors. The most popular is the "Black Tonkotsu Ramen." You can choose the firmness of the noodles. It comes with two slices of pork belly, green onions, and wood ear mushrooms, topped with a rich black garlic oil. The broth is thick and full of flavor, clinging perfectly to the thin noodles. The intense pork flavor is enhanced by the smoky garlic taste. After finishing the bowl, you'll feel energized and ready for anything. It's perfect for gearing up for the afternoon challenges.

I visited Ramen Kukai in Naka-gawa City. I ordered the limited edition Kukai special dipping noodles (normal size: 850 yen) with a side of half fried rice (+330 yen). As it was my first visit, the staff kindly explained the different types of ramen and set options. I decided to try the limited edition dipping noodles and after a short wait, my order arrived. The dipping sauce was rich in pork bone flavor with a hint of seafood. It had a nice sharpness to it, which paired well with the whole wheat noodles. The fried rice was moist and had a gentle seasoning that surprisingly complemented the dipping sauce. I finished my meal in no time. Thank you for the delicious meal!

The other day, I visited Ramen Kukai in Naka River City. It had been a while since my last visit, so I was hoping that my favorite limited-time Taiwan maze soba would make a comeback, but when I carefully looked at the menu, I found the special dipping noodles. They had 7 types of ramen, including the regular tonkotsu ramen called Shiro, which is delicious, and personally I also like the Yellow and Curry ramen, but this time I decided to try the dipping noodles. When I placed my order, I was told that they only had enough noodles left for a regular serving, so it seems like it's quite popular. I ordered the regular serving, along with fried rice and gyoza. The fried rice was moist but had a crispy texture, and the mild seasoning paired well with the ramen. The gyoza were small but filled with a flavorful meat mixture. And then the dipping noodles arrived. It was a rich tonkotsu and seafood dipping noodles, with a thick and flavorful broth with a hint of seafood, topped with fish powder on seaweed. The noodles were thick and chewy, made with whole wheat flour, and were delicious. The broth was rich and packed with flavor, making it a high-quality dipping noodle dish. I finished it all in one go, but I realized that they don't offer a soup refill. Although it's understandable since they are not a dipping noodle specialty shop, I couldn't help but think how amazing it would be to mix the rice with the flavorful broth. I was already full from the fried rice and gyoza though. Next time, I'll make sure to try the combination of dipping noodles and rice. Thank you for the meal. #RamenKukai #Kukai #NakaRiverCity #TonkotsuRamen #DippingNoodles #RichTonkotsuSeafoodDippingNoodles #FriedRice #Gyoza #HakataOneBiteGyoza #WholeWheat #Noodles #FukuokaGourmet #Gaso #RamenLoverGaso #tsukemen #fukuoka #gourmet

Located in Naka River City, Fukuoka Prefecture, is the rich pork bone ramen restaurant "Ramen Kukai Naka River Main Store." The basic pork bone ramen is of course popular, but the chef, who is both enthusiastic and playful, also creates interesting original ramen dishes from time to time. While Fukuoka now has many non-pork bone and creative ramen shops, not too long ago, there were more conservative establishments. Among them, the chef here may have been a pioneering figure. The restaurant was established in 2004. Today's visit is after a very long time. It's a bit far from where I live, so I couldn't go there often. The interior has counter seats and raised table seats. Being in the suburbs, the layout is relatively spacious. The interior is decorated with various knick-knacks, making it interesting to look at. If it's your first visit, I recommend trying the basic rich pork bone ramen or the creatively colored versions based on the basic one. There are white (rich pork bone) as the flagship, as well as black, brown, red, blue, yellow, and green pork bone ramen. This time, we tried the tsukemen, which we had never eaten before. The menu notes "Limited quantity," "Takes time," and "No soup refills." Kukai Special Tsukemen (regular size) is 780 yen. Toppings include 2 slices of chashu, half-boiled egg, green onions, and bamboo shoots. The regular size noodle portion is 200g, which might be a bit insufficient for men, so my colleague went for the large size at 980 yen. The large size is 400g. The noodles are whole wheat noodles with a brownish speckled appearance, giving them a flavorful taste. They are smooth, medium-thick, flat noodles. The soup is a seafood pork bone broth, but it's not the thick, rich type that is popular nowadays, it's rather light. Perhaps even those who are not fans of seafood pork bone broth might find it acceptable. It's a gentlemanly seafood pork bone broth with not too much fat, making it somewhat healthy. While there is no soup refill system, the soup after finishing the noodles is drinkable as it is. There are many seafood pork bone tsukemen shops, but I thought it was impressive to see this level of sophistication. Thank you for the meal.【Shop Name】Ramen Kukai Naka River Main Store【Address】1-1-1 Matsuki, Naka River City, Fukuoka Prefecture【Business Hours】11:00-15:00 (L.O. 14:50), 18:00-23:00 (L.O. 22:50) *Please confirm【Regular Holiday】Irregular holidays *Please confirm※5 minutes walk from Nishitetsu Bus Shimonakahara or Nakahara stop. 8 minutes walk from JR Hakata Minami Station. This is a review of "Ramen Kukai Nakagawa Honten" in Nakagawa City, Fukuoka Prefecture. I had known about this popular restaurant for many years, but I had always felt a bit put off by the fact that their main ramen dishes included curry and niboshi pork bone, among others. I believed that a ramen shop should focus on perfecting their tonkotsu broth rather than offering various different flavors. On this particular day, I decided to visit the restaurant with impure intentions, as I had planned to visit a nearby restaurant first. When I looked at the menu, I noticed that apart from the niboshi and curry soups, the rest of the ramen options were quite similar, with differences mainly in toppings. I ordered the "White Tonkotsu Ramen (lunchtime special for 580 yen)" along with a side of rice and gyoza. The ramen had a rich, opaque broth with thin noodles, which I personally enjoy. The soup had a deep, flavorful taste with surprisingly little fat, more reminiscent of Kurume-style ramen rather than Hakata-style. The noodles paired well with the broth, and overall, it was delicious. I couldn't help but wonder why they felt the need to offer so many different flavors when their tonkotsu ramen was already so good. The restaurant provided condiments like pickled ginger and garlic soy sauce for customers who ordered extra noodles, but I got the impression that they wanted customers to enjoy the ramen as is for the first bowl. Despite my initial skepticism, the ramen was undeniably tasty. Thank you for the meal. Now, onto my next destination for today.

I took a break from riding the shinkansen and stopped at Hakata Minami Station to visit Chef Shibata at "Ramen Kukai." I started with a bottle of beer, gyoza, and some appetizers like chashu. For the main course, I had the Ume Shiso Ramen and half a portion of fried rice. The sourness of the plum and the refreshing taste of shiso made the soup gentle, and the noodles were smooth and delicious.

The other day, my partner and I were invited to a friend's house in Nakagawa and treated to yakiniku. After a fun meal, we decided to have ramen as a finishing touch, so the five of us headed to the nearby Ramen Kukai. We parked our car in the parking lot and sat at the counter since my knee was bothering me. The menu had a wide variety of ramen, but I decided to order the Taiwan maze soba, which I had enjoyed before. While waiting, I tried some char siu appetizer that another table had ordered, and it was delicious. When the Taiwan maze soba arrived, I mixed the minced meat, egg yolk, green onion, onion, leek, seaweed, chopped garlic, fish powder, and sauce with the flat thick noodles. It was a bit spicy but incredibly tasty with a great chewy texture. After finishing the noodles, I mixed the remaining ingredients with curry powder and it turned into a spicy and delicious fried rice. I also tried some fried rice that my partner ordered, and it was also very tasty and well-cooked. It had been a while since I last visited, but I left the restaurant feeling completely satisfied. I came to Nakagawa for work, so I went in the evening before dinner! I heard it was recommended by a friend, so I went for the first time. The exterior of the shop has unique illustrations or art drawn on it. The inside of the shop is decorated with various items, creating a unique atmosphere. It was early evening when I arrived, so I was the only customer. I couldn't take pictures because the staff's eyes were on me. There were many menu options, and I had a hard time deciding. I ordered the classic "black ramen + fried rice set" for starters! The fried rice came first. It was a bit sticky, but the taste was good. Not greasy and delicious. The black ramen arrived soon after! Hmm? Maybe it's the bowl, but it seemed a bit less in quantity. Yes! The taste is good! Delicious! No doubt about it. I almost finished the soup... Maybe it's better to leave some soup behind. The amount was just right, and I didn't feel like it was lacking. I'm curious about other ramen, so I'll visit again.

Nakagawa City's "Ramen Kukai". Many different flavors of ramen are served, each represented by a color. [White] Basic Tonkotsu Ramen 590 yen [Black] Miso Tonkotsu Ramen 640 yen [Red] Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen 640 yen [Brown] Collaboration of black and red Tonkotsu Ramen 640 yen [Blue] Anchovy Tonkotsu Ramen 640 yen [Yellow] Curry Tonkotsu Ramen 640 yen [Green] Tonkotsu Ramen with plenty of bean sprouts and green onions 690 yen, a total of 7 types. I visited for lunch and ordered [White]. During lunchtime, you can enjoy it for 580 yen, which is 10 yen off! But later I realized that during lunchtime, all 7 types are 580 yen!... Maybe I should have chosen [Blue]. σ(^_^;) Now, the essential [White] ramen, the soup is rich but not too bitter, just delicious. The thin noodles are not too powdery, with a slightly chewy texture, not bad. The spicy sauce and chashu are also delicious. However, I was a little bothered by the strong scent of air freshener in the store.

Ramen Sora Kai. I remembered seeing the owner, Sora Kai, on a TV show helping struggling ramen shops. I happened to pass by around 12 o'clock and remembered this, so I decided to check out the menu by the entrance. I was surprised to see a rainbow-colored ramen menu (!) and went inside to sit at the counter. The friendly owner explained the menu to me, which helped me understand the colorful options. The seven colors of ramen are: white (basic tonkotsu), black (with ma oil), red (spicy), brown (a mix of black and red), yellow (curry), blue (dried fish), and green (healthy). All lunch prices are 580 yen. Since it was my first time, I ordered the basic white tonkotsu ramen with fried rice set for 930 yen. The soup was thick and rich, with a mild entrance and a wild aftertaste. The noodles were thin and soaked up the flavorful soup well. The fried rice was perfectly cooked - not too dry or too moist. I couldn't resist ordering an extra serving of noodles for 120 yen! The condiments like sesame seeds and pickled ginger were available near the entrance. Overall, it was a satisfying meal. I received a Sora Kai membership card, which gives me benefits like free toppings or a larger portion next time. The total cost was 1050 yen, a bit pricey for lunch, but it was worth it. I look forward to trying other colors of ramen next time.

Since its opening, I have been visiting regularly. The 7 types of ramen are popular, and on the second visit, you can receive a membership card that gives you free toppings. I ordered the Aotontan Ramen and Hakata Hitokuchi Gyoza! The Aotontan Ramen costs 640 yen and features straight thin noodles in a rich pork bone soup with spicy miso. The chashu is fatty and tender. The Hakata Hitokuchi Gyoza costs 400 yen and is a refreshing gyoza with plenty of meat juice. Personally, I would like to try the hearty Abura Soba that was once a limited-time menu item again.
