Every year, when winter comes, I make a trip to eat grilled oysters. It's a bit far from the center of Fukuoka, about an hour by car, but it's worth it because it's cheap and delicious! Oysters are around 1 kg for 1000 yen, and they also sell packs of scallops and oyster rice (which are also delicious). Even on weekdays during the day, there are quite a few customers. This time, I went to Zauo for lunch during a drive. Luckily, we were seated in a private room on the second floor with an ocean view - the view was amazing! I think my out-of-town friends would be thrilled if I brought them here. I chose the Sushi Mania set meal. Surprisingly, it came with 12 pieces of sushi! It also included side dishes, chawanmushi, and miso soup. The fish was fresh and delicious, with a nice texture. I got full halfway through, so I shared some with my companion, so if you have a small appetite, the 6-piece sushi set meal might be enough. The tatami room on the second floor can accommodate around 100 people if the partitions are removed, so it's great for private parties or group gatherings. I will definitely stop by again during my drive to Itoshima. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Chawanmushi = gentle flavor. Karaage = juicy fried chicken, but not as expected. The Instagram-worthy palm tree swing is a hit for both kids and adults (≧∀≦) It's a fun and exciting place where you can play, eat, and have a great time!

It's been a while since I had a barbecue at Zauo! They picked us up by bus - we made a reservation for 60 people. We enjoyed fresh seafood and meat. The price was 4000 yen for adults and 2500 yen for children, including the bus ride and access to the sea. It was a great deal. It would have been even better if we could have stayed for an extra hour. We brought our own beer, tea, juice, and even marshmallows!

The fish was a little off, but maybe it was because of the drinking party or the time that had passed. Now, it seems like a lot of young people are coming. It must be a trendy spot. If the fish is fresh, I would want to go back again and again. I would like to visit again for a second try.

I think it's not bad overall. The wait time was reasonable, and the food was okay in terms of both portion size and taste. There's nothing particularly outstanding about the taste, but it's not bad either. It might be a good place for group outings.

I came to Fukuoka for a conference, and after the meeting, we had a party at a restaurant called "Zauo" where you can catch your own fish and eat it. The restaurant is located right by the Genkai Sea, with a beautiful view. We were picked up by a microbus. We started the party with a toast of beer, and then had a friendly gathering. It was also a farewell party for a colleague from the Osaka head office who is retiring this spring. Unfortunately, the fresh squid and mackerel we requested couldn't be served, so we ended up with only a small flounder sashimi. Surprisingly, there were also dumplings on the menu. The highlight was the pressed sushi with marinated sea bream on top. And the best part was probably the creamy "Zauo pudding". It was a shame we couldn't try the mackerel and squid, but overall it was a pleasant dining experience by the Genkai Sea.

I visited around 2 o'clock and it wasn't very crowded, so I was able to enter right away! I ordered the most popular bowl. The portion was not too big, but just right and very delicious! The view was also amazing and very nice!

In Itoshima, I wanted to eat seafood bowl! I made a reservation online and visited the restaurant. I chose a seat by the window, so I could enjoy my seafood bowl while looking at the sea. The seafood bowl cost 1850 yen (tax included) and it was fresh and delicious. There was a palm tree swing nearby. Customers who eat at Zauo get 2 hours of free parking, so after eating seafood bowl, you can enjoy swinging on the palm tree swing or take a walk.

I visited this restaurant more than 5 times. I used to be taken there often by my parents when I was young. It's a very fun place for kids because there is a beach in front of it. I went there after a long time as an adult. The fish was delicious. We had to wait for about 20 minutes to be seated.

A large restaurant located along the coast. I stopped by for lunch and had the seafood and tempura mixed rice bowl. It was different from what I expected... It had carrot tempura which I tried for the first time, on top of white rice with sliced onions, mysterious tempura, seafood, and sesame sauce with soy sauce. The flavors didn't quite come together. The pudding was simple but very delicious!

Today, I visited this place for the first time to enjoy an early summer day at the beach! It's convenient to have parking, play areas, showers, and other facilities available here. First, I decided to have a meal... so I ordered the famous seafood bowl. I also ordered eel sushi and tempura, although I forgot to take a photo of them. The seafood bowl arrived fairly quickly after ordering. It came with miso soup and pickles. The rice was warm and nicely topped with a variety of fresh ingredients. There was fatty tuna, octopus, squid, scallops, raw shrimp, shrimp heads, salmon, amberjack (probably), salmon roe, egg, and eel - quite a variety. The price wasn't particularly cheap, but it wasn't expensive either. It was a good deal for lunchtime, and all the ingredients were delicious without being dry. The miso soup was probably instant, but it was fine as a side for lunch. The eel sushi was warm, soft, and tasty. The tempura had a crispy coating and was simply delicious. I usually don't have high expectations for beachside or chain restaurants, but this place pleasantly surprised me with its tasty food. I look forward to coming back for a barbecue next time!

I ordered clam soup, which was delicious and had a lot of clams, but more than 50% of them had sand in them. The sashimi was thin and the taste was average. I wouldn't recommend this place for food only. It's okay if you're at the beach and happen to stop by.

The location with a view of the sea made the wait for the meal very pleasant. After a while, the dish was served. It was a set meal with simmered fish head, giving it a wild and flavorful taste. The sea bream head was well seasoned and delicious. It has many bones, but the taste is excellent. If you visit Itoshima, I recommend this restaurant after enjoying the palm tree swing.

"Zauo" is a restaurant located by the seaside. While the company has created theme park-like restaurants all over Japan with fishing ponds where you can catch and eat fish, the main branch does not have such gimmicks. However, its beachside location makes the fish taste delicious. There is also a beachside barbecue garden, perfect for the upcoming season. I enjoyed a Japanese meal while overlooking the sea. They were having an anago (conger eel) fair, and I tried anago sashimi, which was rich in flavor and paired with delicious sweet soy sauce unique to Kyushu. The anago pressed sushi had a slightly sweet and vinegary rice characteristic of the region. I devoured the main set meal featuring deep-fried kasago (rockfish) and licked my fingers. The assorted nigiri sushi set had white fish, which surprised visitors from Tohoku who exclaimed, "The sushi is white!" In the Kanto region and northward, the assortment typically includes fatty tuna and red tuna to add luxury and elegance, but as you move west, white fish becomes more prevalent. The sushi set had popular white fish like yellowtail, flounder, and red snapper preferred by locals. It was indeed white and interesting. I tried the sea bream rice bowl, a seasonal specialty, and was served freshly cooked rice in a pot with sea bream bones. Instead of warming the broth and pouring it, a piece of sea bream bone was included. This made the dish look luxurious. I placed the sea bream fillet with sesame dressing on the rice, and it was delicious. The sweetness of the soy sauce stood out more than the firmness of the noodles. It made me think that maybe that's how it's supposed to be. It was a great learning experience.

Zaouo Beach is a place we go every year to have a BBQ! It gets crowded in the summer, so it's recommended to make a reservation early.

The staff should work properly (lol). I hate this kind of store. It's so empty, who are they trying to attract? They don't even stock properly.

Visited for the second time. Went just before a typhoon hit. Couldn't decide between the sea urchin and salmon roe bowl, ended up ordering the red snapper tea pickles bowl. If the weather had been good, we would have been able to see the clear summer sea.
