It was past 6 PM on Saturday. There were 5 groups waiting, with a wait time of about 30 minutes. The restaurant is located in the food court on the 3rd floor of New Chitose Airport. They have a ticket machine where you can register with LINE to check the wait time. It was my first time trying seasoned Genghis Khan (Mongolian barbecue). The lamb had no gamey taste, and the dipping sauce was sweet and delicious, making it possible to eat as much rice as you want. The well-cooked bean sprouts were also amazing. Although there are branches in Tokyo, I wanted to try this restaurant in Sapporo. Thank you for the meal.

Alone at the *restaurant* in New Chitose Airport, there were a few people waiting at the restaurant row so I went to the food court. Even though it was a food court, there were multiple menu options with rice bowls being the main focus. For *the meal*, I was able to enjoy delicious and tender Genghis Khan (grilled lamb) that was of the same quality as a restaurant, with no strong flavors.

I sent my daughter and we had lunch at the food court at 11:40. My wife had udon earlier, so she went to save seats. The place was empty, so I wondered if the seat was reserved for us. I ordered the special lamb jingisukan set, and the buzzer rang in 7 minutes. The food was served hot and delicious with plenty of bean sprouts, though it lacked a bit of the premium feel. It was tasty because it was seasoned well, and I enjoyed it thoroughly. The special lamb jingisukan set costs 1800 yen. Thank you for the meal! (^^)v

Matsuo Jingisukan at New Chitose Airport Food Court
Location: Domestic Terminal 3rd floor Food Court, New Chitose Airport
Visit Date: August 16, 2023
Dish: Jingisukan Steak Donburi
Price: 1880 yen
When it comes to Hokkaido's Jingisukan (Genghis Khan), Matsuo Jingisukan is the most well-known. I tried the Jingisukan Steak Donburi at the food court on the 3rd floor of New Chitose Airport. The steak, cooked rare on a grill, is cut into pieces and served on top. The sauce is slightly sweetened, and the meat is very tender. The more you chew, the more the flavor of the meat increases, making you crave more. Additionally, when you eat it while melting butter, the flavor becomes richer and takes on a different taste. The portion of meat is also satisfying, and I found it reasonably priced for an airport meal. I enjoyed it very much.

At New Chitose Airport food court, I ordered a set of beer and rum at Matsuo Genghis Khan to pass the time. I sat at the counter seat facing the window. Conclusion: Genghis Khan is best enjoyed when you cook it yourself. Well, can't be helped. It's nice to drink while watching the planes take off and land.

We arrived in Hokkaido by a 2-hour flight. Let's start by filling our stomachs. We went to the 3rd floor food court and tried the "Matsuo Jingisukan" restaurant. I had the Jingisukan steak bowl for 1880 yen, while my daughter had the lamb Jingisukan bowl for 1230 yen. We enjoyed our lunch while watching the planes taking off and landing. It was a relaxing and pleasant experience with few people around.

After conquering all the ramen dojos in New Chitose and visiting all the casual eateries, I found that the remaining options were all high-end restaurants. So, I decided to visit a food court where I could have a casual meal. Feeling a bit peckish, I opted for the Matsuo Genghis Khan, which seemed like it would provide a satisfying meal. I ordered the bowl with lamb and egg, and it was ready in just 5 minutes. I had never tried lamb and egg together before, but it was quite delicious. I thought eating Genghis Khan with egg was a tasty idea. As a local, I was used to having Matsuo Genghis Khan with frozen meat at home, so this was my first time trying it at a restaurant. Even when eaten at the restaurant, it was still quite tasty. By the way, my personal favorite Genghis Khan is the lamb roll without sauce, so if you're interested, I recommend searching online and giving it a try.

In the food court at New Chitose Airport!! I recommend the lamb Jingisukan bowl because sheep meat doesn't have any smell. The taste is good, but it's a bit tough, so it might tire out your jaw. It might be better to play it safe and go with the lamb Jingisukan bowl instead!

Around 1 PM on a regular day. There are many popular restaurants on the 3rd floor of New Chitose Airport, with long lines forming. After some consideration, I decided to go with this place since I'm on a trip to Hokkaido! I ordered the Genghis Khan set. It only took about 5-6 minutes to be served. Lots of vegetables are stir-fried on the iron plate, topped with seasoned mutton. The flavor isn't too strong, but the vegetables, mutton, and rice soaked in the sauce are delicious! The rice is also tasty! I finished it all in no time. It was a great last meal in Hokkaido. Thank you for the feast.

At Chitose Airport's food court, I tried the Matsumoto Genghis Khan restaurant. The dish had plenty of vegetables and was quite filling. However, you need to be careful with the amount of meat you take, or you might end up with leftover rice. The vegetables soaked in the sauce from the meat around the pot were delicious to eat.

I ordered the top-quality lamb with a side of beer. I don't need white rice. I just really wanted to eat Matsuo's Genghis Khan. I sprinkled some spicy seasoning on it at the counter and sat down. The seasoning is quite spicy. Wow, the lamb is amazing. It's tender and delicious, without any strong flavors like mutton. I will definitely come back again.

I tried Genghis Khan for the first time. It wasn't as tough as I thought, but it had a strong smell and a lot of gamey flavor. I didn't really understand the appeal of Genghis Khan's taste.

On the last day in Hokkaido, I wanted to eat Matsuo Genghis Khan, so I came here. The main store was full and seemed like it would take a long time, so I decided to try the food court store. I had the special lamb Genghis Khan bowl. The taste is like Matsuo Genghis Khan. It's not as fragrant as when cooked in a pot, but it's delicious.

When I couldn't find a place to have my last meal of the year in Hokkaido, I stumbled upon Matsuo Jingisukan @matsuo_jingisukan. I had their top-quality raw lamb Jingisukan bowl for the second time in Hokkaido. While cooking BBQ by yourself was good, indulging in a hearty bowl was also great. Since I was short on time, I ended up at this place in the food court, which turned out to be a good choice. I hope my Hokkaido food diary can be helpful to anyone planning to visit. I always look for recommendations when I travel, so I hope this can be useful to others. #Jingisukan #rawlamb #MatsuoJingisukan #HokkaidoGourmet #lunch #bowl #delicious #foodie #foodporn #japanesefood #loml #hokkaido #hokkaido_lovers.

Inside the airport, there are regular shops, but in the food court, there are various types of Genghis Khan rice bowls. The regular Matsujin doesn't have rice bowls, so this store is somewhat rare. Despite being such a unique store, my wife's order was the mutton Genghis Khan with a beer set for 1730 yen, simply adding up the prices. The bowl is not included in the set. She really loves her mutton Genghis Khan!

I arrived at New Chitose Airport. Feeling hungry, I decided to eat at the food court on the 3rd floor. The enticing smell of Matsuo Jingisukan at the entrance of the food court immediately caught my attention. Although there were a few other shops further back in the food court, I chose to eat here. It was quite crowded at the food court due to the year-end and New Year holidays, but luckily I found a seat. I ordered the special lamb set meal. After placing my order, I waited for a while until the buzzer rang. I sprinkled some spice and started eating. It was not the traditional Jingisukan where you cook it yourself, but a convenient set meal style, perfect for when you're in a hurry. The generous amount of bean sprouts soaked up the delicious flavor of the lamb, making the rice very appetizing. New Chitose Airport Domestic Terminal 3F, Bibi, Chitose City, Hokkaido.

There are two Matsuo Genghis Khan restaurants at New Chitose Airport. If you want to cook and enjoy the meat over a hot pot, you can go to the Gourmet World restaurant. If you prefer to leave the cooking to the professionals and enjoy a quick meal like a set meal or a bowl, you can go to the food court. Due to my flight schedule, I chose the food court and ordered the delicious and spicy Genghis Khan bowl. It had a great kick to it and I wished they had a larger size available because I would definitely order it next time. I later found out that this dish is only available at the New Chitose Airport food court, and it was so tasty that I felt like shaking hands with the chef. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

On a holiday morning, I headed straight to New Chitose Airport, but I didn't have much of an appetite because I ate and drank too much last night. However, I was running out of food blog material and needed to eat something. I wandered around looking for something with a small portion and ended up at the food court where I tried some sweets from "Hokkairo." I then checked out "Matsuo Jingisukan," which had another branch in the facility. I ordered the "Jingisukan Donburi (small) for 780 yen" at the fast-food style counter. A young and cute girl took my order quickly, I paid with PayPay, and received a buzzer and receipt. After about a 5-minute wait, my buzzer went off, and I received my tray with the Jingisukan Donburi, miso soup, and chopsticks. The lamb meat was tender, the seasoning was light, but the rice was a bit dry. The familiar taste of the Jingisukan sauce was more important than whether it was delicious or not. The miso soup had seaweed and green onions, and the rice dish came with pickles, which was a nice touch. I was glad to find a small size option on the menu this time. While eating, I observed that there were cheap fast-food places nearby offering udon, onigiri, and burgers, but they didn't seem to attract many customers. I wondered if the location at the airport was a factor. If the prices don't improve, maybe they should review the contents of their offerings. Perhaps the number of customers increases during lunch or in the evening. I couldn't help but worry about their business.

I was planning to relax and take a dip in the hot springs at Chitose Airport before my return flight, but there was an entry restriction and I couldn't get in. I wasn't very hungry, but I decided to have a beer and head back. I went to the food court. I have been to the Matsuo Jingisukan restaurant in Chitose Airport before, but this was my first time at the food court. The Jingisukan comes out already cooked. I ordered the premium lamb for 1530 yen and a draft beer for 550 yen. It took about 5 minutes for the dish to be ready. The lamb was tender and there were plenty of well-seasoned vegetables, which went well with the beer. Although there wasn't the live cooking experience like at the restaurant, the vegetables still had a crisp texture and were honestly delicious. I enjoyed a beer and then caught my flight back with a happy belly. Thank you for the meal.

Our Jin Don is back! It's been a while since I had it and it felt so good. With the shortened business hours due to COVID, it was difficult to use for a while, but it seems to have returned to being open until 8 pm, making it easier to use. The prices seem to have gone up overall, but I'm happy that there is now a small size option for the Jin Don. The rice portion is quite small, with cabbage and bean sprouts laid on top, topped with meat. Even though it's small, it's made well. The meat is soaked in that sauce, and when eaten with the rice, it brings back nostalgic feelings. It's perfect for when you feel like having a taste of Genghis Khan after coming back from Hokkaido, and it would make a good beer snack as well. The mutton is a bit tough, but I think the cost performance is excellent.
