Near the fountain square, there is a popular Chinese bar. I was happy to be able to casually walk in alone. I ordered a frozen lemon sour with plenty of frozen lemons while enjoying the bustling atmosphere. I also ordered the famous pan-fried dumplings, boiled dumplings, drooling chicken, mapo tofu, and lo mein. The pan-fried dumplings were my favorite, they were quite delicious. The drooling chicken was decently tasty. The mapo tofu had plenty of meat and just the right amount of spiciness, which was good. The lo mein was prepared well, with the sauce soaking into the rice nicely. I ended up ordering three more lemon sours in a kettle, and the total came to just over 5,000 yen. It was a great B-class gourmet experience. Considering the price and taste without a reservation, I was very satisfied. I will definitely visit again.

I went to the Nomoka area for lunch. The Taiwanese porridge had a very gentle flavor. It was very delicious and had a smooth texture. The miso for flavoring was very spicy. It came with cilantro, but I did not eat it, I couldn't eat it. I think it's a good value for the price.

A lively izakaya with a kitschy atmosphere reminiscent of a Taiwanese night market. The Chinese dishes have been adapted for Japanese tastes, making them easy to enjoy, and despite being small plates, they are quite filling. While the original Zhang Ji in a back alley of Taipei is known for its popular dumplings, they were not on the menu at this restaurant, which was a bit disappointing. Perhaps they are saying, "If you want to eat them, come to Taipei!" Thank you for the delicious meal!

Hello. I'm Keinsuke. Today, I would like to introduce the Chinese izakaya "Taipei Gyoza Cho-ki" located in Umeda. I visited this Taipei dumpling shop during lunchtime on a weekday at the NOMOKA Plaza. The restaurant seemed to be popular among both men and women taking a break from work. I was seated at the counter because there was space available. The lunch menu offers various rich dishes, including the famous long and thin Taipei dumplings set, chicken nanban, drooling chicken, and cold tan-tan noodles. I decided to try the "Shrimp Mayo Set" which costs 980 yen. The sauce was light but flavorful, the shrimp was crispy, and the mayonnaise was creamy. It came with rice, soup, salad, and one side dish for under 1000 yen, which was budget-friendly. Overall, I was very satisfied with the meal as it was filling for under 1000 yen. The turnover seemed quick, so even if there's a line, it may move fast. I recommend checking it out if you're interested. Thank you for the meal!

The set menu for around 1500 yen at lunch is very reasonable and satisfying. The salad is a bit bland and not very good. The Taiwanese-style Nanban dish has a delicious sauce. The main dish, Lu Rou Fan, is authentic and has a strong star anise flavor.

The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice, but the taste was nothing like Taiwan at all. The braised pork belly didn't have any star anise in it, and it felt like they just sprinkled some soy sauce on it. The dim sum was piping hot, but it tasted like frozen food. As for the Chinese soup, it tasted like the complimentary soup you get at a family restaurant for lunch. It was a huge disappointment as there was no sense of Taiwan at all.

I visited the HAJIKI WHITY Umeda store for the first time. You can place your order by talking to the staff or scanning the QR code on the table with your smartphone. I ordered the Shrimp Mayo Lunch (1,078 yen) and it arrived in about 7 minutes. The shrimp mayo was very delicious with a creamy sweetness of mayonnaise and crispy shrimp. The soup had a gentle flavor with a thick texture. The only thing that bothered me was that the white rice was dry and not tasty. It seemed like the rice had been left in the rice cooker for over a day and lost its shine. Even though the side dishes were delicious, I couldn't enjoy the rice, which made me sad. To avoid wasting food, I poured the soup over the rice. I would like to try the shrimp mayo again, but if the rice is not good, it would be difficult to visit again. Other than the white rice, everything was delicious, so I recommend going for drinks (ordering only individual items and alcohol)!

【White sesame cold tantanmen lunch set 1080 yen】I had been wanting to try cold tantanmen for a while. The set came with salad, rice, karaage, meat miso, and the cold tantanmen itself, making it quite a substantial meal. The tantanmen looked delicious, and the first bite confirmed it - the cold soup with rich white sesame paste was amazing. It had cucumber and green onions, giving it a healthy touch. The flavor of the meat miso was also strong. If I had to point out one thing, it would be that a bit more volume would have been nice, but the rice and karaage were a nice addition. I was very satisfied. It's not easy to find places serving cold tantanmen in Umeda, so this will definitely come in handy during the hot summer. I'm curious about trying the bolognese next time! Thank you, Hyouki, for the delicious cold tantanmen! Grazie!

I visited around 20:30 on a holiday. The restaurant was full, but luckily a customer was leaving so they quickly cleaned up and I was able to sit down. I had plum and shiso dumplings, char siu, menma, kujo negi, and spicy mixed vegetables. Since I was already full from the first restaurant, I only had some light snacks at this second place. The design of the glasses is cute. I ordered a sour drink, and you can get a refill with shochu from a kettle, which is a good deal for those who drink alcohol.

The dish called "Kobore Mapo" is overflowing with Mapo tofu, just as the name suggests. The texture is not too thick, almost like a drink. It has some spiciness, but it is easy to eat and delicious when paired with white rice. The interior of the restaurant is decorated with mahjong tiles shining, giving a truly Chinese atmosphere. Located in the NOMOKA bar district in the Izumi Square area. Next time, I must try the dumplings at "Taipei Gyoza Choji". The fountain in Izumi Square used to make a nice sound, creating a gorgeous atmosphere.

I had to fast for a medical examination, so I really wanted to eat a lot! I wandered around Whity and was drawn to a sign. I chose the popular braised pork rice and a luxurious Taiwanese lunch set where you can choose a main dish. It was great to be able to try a variety of dishes in small portions. The braised pork rice had a nice star anise flavor and a gentle seasoning. Mixing it with plenty of egg yolk was so delicious. The shrimp mayo dish had 2 shrimp and sweet potatoes in it. It was dangerously tasty and made the rice disappear quickly. The dim sum was piping hot! I love shrimp dumplings. The set also included soup, salad, pickled vegetables, and almond jelly. The braised pork rice bowl was small, but it was enough to satisfy me. I was so full that I couldn't even have the dumplings I wanted. Next time, I'll have dumplings and day drink! Thank you for the meal!

I visited a Taipei cuisine restaurant! I had both Lu Rou Fan and Xiao Long Bao, and they were delicious! For the main dish, I chose saliva chicken, which was a bit spicy for me. Other menu items seemed reasonably priced and good. I left feeling full! The background music was a bit loud, so I would appreciate it if they turned it down a bit.

There are various lunch sets available, so it's a good deal if the set includes what you want to eat. I'm not sure if you can order various items a la carte at night, but if the lunch set doesn't have what you want to eat, the restaurant becomes a bit questionable. I ordered the luxurious Taiwanese lunch set with lemon beer, lu rou fan (minced pork rice), and a choice of main dish. I also added Taiwanese chicken nanban and Taiwanese stick dumplings. Rice and soup refills are free, but what about the lu rou fan? I think white rice is free. The portion of lu rou fan is clearly small! It would be better if they offered a large serving from the start so you can enjoy the flavor of the sauce and fat while getting full! The lemon beer has a unique taste, it was my first time trying it. The almond jelly was delicious! Personally, I found the drinks to be mediocre. There are various options, but nothing I really wanted to drink. Even though Taiwanese cuisine is the specialty, they don't have Taiwanese beer. I tried to order a regular lemon sour, but it wasn't listed on the drink menu, although it was listed in the snack set. It's a bit confusing. I would like to ask next time how to order lu rou fan and tantanmen when I want to eat them!

I visited this shop located in the underground shopping area NOMOKA in Osaka Umeda. The interior of the shop has a stylish atmosphere reminiscent of a bustling street stall in Taiwan, with neon signs and such. I visited around 3:30 pm on a Saturday, with about 50% of the seats already taken. I tried the Osaka meat juice grilled dumplings (5 pieces for 320 yen), which have a filling with plenty of meat and lots of chives, but are not too heavy and have a light flavor that makes them easy to eat. They are delicious even without dipping sauce. The unlimited addiction Taiwanese clams (250 yen) are a cold steamed clam dish that is perfect as a drinking snack. Despite the low price, it has a decent portion size and offers great value for money. It's a pleasant surprise to find bamboo shoots hidden at the bottom when you dig through the clams. The Zhang Ji shrimp mayo (690 yen) is a shrimp mayo dish with a homemade sweet mayo sauce generously poured over shrimp and potatoes. This Taiwanese restaurant offers great value for money, with reasonable prices and the ability to enjoy drinks from noon, while each dish shows the careful work put into it. Thank you for the meal.

I felt like eating dumplings, so I took a stroll in Whity. I went to Chang Ji's Taipei Dumpling shop located in the restaurant area at the back of the square after passing through the fountain. It was quiet as it was past noon. There are various set meals available, but I chose the Taipei stick dumpling set meal that looked delicious in the photos. For just 1000 yen, you get soup, dim sum, dumplings, rice, and salad. It's great that you can eat for such a reasonable price. I couldn't drink because I was working, but I would like to go again for drinks next time. They also allow daytime drinking, so it's a good place for a quick stop. Luxurious Lunch Special - Drooling Chicken - 1380 yen. Located in NOMOKA Street inside Whity Umeda, this Chinese restaurant caught my attention. I was intrigued by the overflowing mapo tofu, but since I had never tried Taiwan's popular dish, Lu Rou Fan, I decided to give it a shot this time. It arrived promptly. Wow! Various small dishes with colorful presentation! And a mysterious Zhang Ji lantern... unique, I thought. First, I tried the drooling chicken. Wow! Delicious! The drooling chicken had a spicy kick from cilantro and chili oil, with the added nutty and sesame flavors making the chicken tender and tasty! The black vinegar was quite refreshing, completely refreshing the spiciness from earlier. The chili oil and cilantro on top of the drooling chicken enhanced the spiciness. The bottom had the refreshing black vinegar, while the top had the spicy kick. The Lu Rou Fan, originally served in Taiwan's popular diners, was also unique. The distinct aroma and spiciness stood out. What is this spice? Star anise? A flavor I'm not familiar with. Mixed with pickled mustard greens and raw egg, it turned into an indescribably delicious egg over rice! The meal also included shrimp dumplings, shumai dim sum, Taiwanese side dishes, and almond jelly for dessert. The almond jelly had a strong creamy taste and was quite delicious! Although the lunch was over 1000 yen, the cost performance may not be great, but it made me feel that the other menu items would be delicious as well. The interior resembled a Taiwanese diner, and I can imagine feeling like I'm on a trip abroad if it gets lively at night. With the upcoming hot summer, I'm curious about trying the cold sesame tantanmen lunch! The well-seasoned and delicious taste gave me a sense of security, so I'll definitely try the tantanmen and mapo tofu next time. Thank you, Zhang Ji. Grazie Mille!

I visited around Umeda for a drink! Got 5 stick dumplings for 360 yen, they came relatively quickly. Crispy and snack-like, perfect for snacking! It would have been nice if there was a little less oil. They also have unique items like avocado cheese dumplings. The soup dumplings were full of juicy meat and delicious! Thank you for the meal.

The memory is vague, but I appeared on a TV show in Kansai where they judged restaurants with delicious gyoza in a tournament format. This time, I visited a recommended restaurant for Taipei-style gyoza during lunchtime and ordered a set for just over 1000 yen. It includes one serving of gyoza and another dish, along with a drink of your choice for 1000 yen. I ordered the stick gyoza, which is long and thin, and a side of chashu menma. The stick gyoza had a good grilled texture and seasoning, but due to its shape, there was less filling compared to the skin, making it feel like you're mostly eating the skin. However, the crispy texture of the skin was strong and fragrant. There are two types of sauce, special soy sauce and secret sauce, which is like a sweet miso sauce. Mixing the two sauces is also delicious. The chashu menma had a refreshing flavor, possibly from cilantro or celery. Overall, the gyoza set with five pieces for 290 yen before tax is reasonably priced. The restaurant itself is quite ordinary, but the food was tasty. Thank you for the meal.

Four beers, a refreshing Mango Sour and a zesty Lemon Sour, followed by three servings of shochu served in a cute teapot. We also enjoyed Char Siu, Menma, Osaka-style Juicy Gyoza, Ume Shiso Gyoza, Avocado Cheese Gyoza, Chinese Jellyfish with Long Yam Mustard, and Taiwanese Xiao Long Bao. The meat-filled Gyoza was satisfying, with a nice balance of flavors in the Ume Shiso and rich creaminess in the Avocado Cheese. The unique Gyoza options were also delicious. The Mango Sour had fruit juice in the ice, while the Lemon Sour had frozen lemon slices. The presentation of the additional shochu in a teapot was adorable. Although the variety of side dishes was limited, the quality of the Gyoza made us want to come back for more.

Located a little north of the fountain plaza at Whity Umeda, this restaurant is an izakaya with a Taiwanese street food vibe in East Mall. I had the steamed dim sum and Taipei pot stickers lunch set for 980 yen + tax. It comes with salad, potato salad, soup, and rice. It's great that you can order lunch until 5 pm. [Taipei Gyoza Chouji at Whity Umeda] Located inside Whity Umeda, this Taiwanese Chinese restaurant offers a variety of dishes including dim sum! Highly recommended is the hearty Lu Rou Fan lunch set, perfect for a midday drink around 1 pm on weekdays. The restaurant is bustling with customers enjoying lunch and drinks. I ordered the luxurious Taiwanese lunch set for ¥1518, with a choice of three main dishes, and I chose the drool chicken. The warm dim sum was chewy and delicious! The drool chicken was moist with a tangy flavor. The Lu Rou Fan was packed with meat and had a nice spiciness from the star anise. Located a 5-minute walk from Higashi Umeda Station in Osaka, this place is a must-visit for those looking for a taste of Taiwan in Umeda.
