Hello! It's so hot, but I came to Osaka to eat ramen. Even though my stomach is still okay, I'm thinking of having another bowl of delicious light salt ramen before heading to a place with rich and tasty ramen! Yes, the place I'm talking about is Ramen Kozou in Osaka. This place was selected as one of the top 100 ramen shops in the west. I heard about their "forbidden ramen" which has a super rich broth made from pork bones and water, with added back fat for extra richness. Let's go check it out! The location is near Sankusan, where many restaurants are located. I entered the shop and checked the menu on the ticket machine. The forbidden ramen costs 990 yen and looks really rich and flavorful. I also ordered a side of white rice for 150 yen. I handed over the ticket and sat at the available counter seat. On the table, there were black pepper, TKG sauce, and crushed garlic in a big bottle. The atmosphere was getting really appetizing. After a short wait, the forbidden ramen and white rice arrived. I knew from reviews that they serve the ramen with a ladle standing in it, which was quite funny. The ramen had green onions, onions, seaweed, and seared chashu. The broth, filled with back fat and pork bones, was very rich. It was easy to drink and had a rich flavor, perfect for those who love rich broths. The noodles were curly and chewy, just right to complement the broth. I added black pepper and crushed garlic to enhance the flavor and enjoyed every bite. The bitterness of the green onions and onions added a nice touch. I dipped the seaweed in the soup, wrapped it around the rice, and savored the rich broth until the end. I thought it would be more intense and porky, but it turned out to be a delicious and easy-to-drink broth. I even finished it off with ramen rice. If you love rich flavors, you'll definitely enjoy this ramen! The appearance might not do it justice, but give it a try! PS: I added a lot of black pepper and crushed garlic, so my throat was really dry all day.

When it comes to Fukushima Ward in Osaka City, it's known as a battleground for ramen! Restaurants like "Ramen Jinsei JET" and "Moeyo Mensuke" are famous for their light ramen, but this time we visited "Ramen Kozou" known for its rich ramen. Their "Forbidden Ramen" with extremely rich soup is popular! We went 10 minutes after opening on a weekday and got in without waiting in line. We ordered the "Kozou Ramen" which is also the name of the restaurant. When it arrived, the smell of pork bone was intense! You can see how thick the pork bone soup is. And the taste... The pork bone soup made only from pork bone and water is rich but surprisingly easy to drink, not too salty. It's not overpowering at all. The soup and medium-thick noodles go perfectly together. Adding garlic makes it taste like a Jiro-style ramen. The chashu could be thicker though.

I visited Ramen Kozou for the first time, which is the only one among the top 100 ramen shops in the fiercely competitive Fukushima area that I had not been to. I tried the classic Kozou ramen with an added 10 yen pickled ginger. The rich soup, made only with water and pork bones, is thick and creamy without any unpleasant smell, allowing you to fully taste the condensed umami of the pork bones. The curly flat noodles mix well with the rich soup. The saltiness of the pickled ginger topping adds a nice accent, and despite the rich and creamy soup, it was delicious enough to finish without getting tired of it.

Visited the restaurant with my partner while hungover from the night before. I ordered the mixed soba and my partner got the basic ramen with a thick tonkotsu soup. The soup was rich and flavorful, maybe a bit too strong for my liking haha. However, the staff were very kind and friendly, making it a nice place overall!

It's been a while since I revisited this place. I felt the richness again, but it's a different kind of oiliness compared to before. The thick richness of the tonkotsu was very delicious, but the melted oil floating on the soup made it a bit heavy. As you continue eating, it can be a bit tiring, but the first bite allows you to enjoy the sticky richness.

Forbidden Ramen has both counter seats and tables inside. I ordered the rich-looking Forbidden Ramen. When asked if I wanted it with just water and pork bones, I couldn't help but compare it to Muteppo, but the soup seemed surprisingly light...? The noodles were medium-thin, but I'm not sure if they really complemented the soup. The clean impression of the noodles seemed to be overshadowed by the soup. The advantage of not having to wait in line compared to Muteppo. I heard that they also offer the "Oma" series at affiliated restaurants, so I would like to try it if I have the chance.

I went to a popular shop in Fukushima known for its rich tonkotsu broth on a weekday evening. I ordered the forbidden ramen, which is made with a soup so rich with domestically sourced pork bones that the ladle can stand upright in it. The soup is boiled down until the bones are completely broken down, extracting all the umami flavor. It also has crunchy texture from the onions. You can add as much garlic as you want, which is dangerous (in a good way). The thick soup clings to the medium-thin noodles, making it easy to slurp with chopsticks. I regret not ordering rice to go with it, but the strong flavors were enough to satisfy. If you like intense flavors, I highly recommend it! Thank you for the meal!

Young Monk Ramen for 890 yen, arrived on Sunday at 10:50 am without waiting in line. This shop, which has multiple locations in Osaka, serves rich pork bone ramen in the competitive ramen district of Fukushima, Osaka, with over 100 ramen shops. The broth is rich in pork bone flavor, without any unpleasant smells, and the saltiness takes a back seat to the richness of the pork bone. (After eating, your throat may feel dry after a while.) I wonder what it would be like to try their forbidden ramen where the chopsticks can stand upright. It seems like it would appeal to fans of Tenkaippin.

I had some errands nearby and my dad decided to try out this ramen shop that we've been curious about. Luckily, we only had to wait for one person ahead of us and got seated in about 5 minutes (there were 5 people waiting behind us). It was my first time there, so I decided to go with the standard ramen. The ramen was prepared quickly and served to us. Although the chashu was different, the overall vibe reminded me of a popular ramen shop. I took a sip of the soup. It was rich and delicious, but somehow it felt like it was lacking a bit of depth. I ended up ordering an extra serving of noodles, but the thin noodles didn't quite blend well with the thick soup. Nonetheless, I finished my bowl and it was a satisfying meal. Thank you for the meal.

I wonder if you can see it. The rich pork bone ramen is served beautifully, without any off-flavors, so I quickly ate it all up. The soup was also finished in one go. The staff's service was good too, so I will definitely go back to eat again!

I arrived around 11:10 AM. Although the inside was full, there was no line outside yet. Lucky, I thought, but after about 10 minutes, a line of about 7 or 8 people formed. This ramen shop is truly popular. I hesitated whether it was okay to drink such a thick soup at my age, but I ordered the forbidden ramen. As expected, the ladle stood upright when it was served. I tried drinking the thick, sticky soup by putting the ladle in another position, and surprisingly, it was a delicious soup without a strong pork bone smell. The noodles were flat and had a firm texture, mixing well with the soup, making it delicious. I had the image that "super concentrated" would be too much, but I didn't get tired of it and was able to finish it. It was a long time since I had such delicious pork bone ramen.

I arrived at the restaurant a little after 12 pm. It was packed because it was a Saturday, but I only had to wait in line for about 5 minutes before getting a table. The staff, both in the dining area and in the kitchen, were friendly and provided excellent service. There was a shelf at the counter where I could put my belongings, which was very convenient since I had a lot of stuff. I ordered the "Kozou Ramen" with a food ticket and it was brought to me in just a few minutes. Be careful when receiving the bowl because it was quite hot. The soup was thick but not oily, so it was actually quite light despite its appearance. The noodles were just the right thickness, with a subtle wheat flavor, and they paired well with the soup. The chashu was marinated in salt for a day, then seasoned with pepper and left for another day, showing the effort put into preparation. It had a perfect saltiness and was delicious. I had heard that this place was popular, and after trying the ramen, I could see why. It was truly delicious. Thank you for the meal.

A ramen shop located about a 3-minute walk from Shin-Fukushima Station. It's a bit hidden in an alley, but the atmosphere of the shop is great! I arrived around 10:50 before opening. The sight of the food sign made me hungry. The shop opened a bit early at 10:55. They accept cashless payment, which is convenient. I ordered the "Forbidden" ramen with extra green onions. The bowl arrived in about 5 minutes, and the noodles were standing upright! The first bite was delicious, rich but not too heavy. The noodles were perfectly coated in the soup. I finished every drop of the soup, it was that good. I definitely want to come back again!

I didn't remember it, but I went to Fukushima Bar three years ago! The taste was rich and delicious, but at 21, my taste buds and stomach started to weaken, so I found it slightly too rich. I love rich flavors though... From now on, I'll choose the second richest instead of the richest one. The owner seemed really kind.

Today, despite the hot weather reaching 35 degrees, I visited Ramen Kozou for the first time. I arrived at 11:55 and purchased a ticket for the forbidden ramen with standing chopsticks and negi rice for 1290 yen. I was seated immediately without having to wait. The food was served in about 10 minutes. First, the ramen - the soup was thick and rich with a strong pork bone flavor, but surprisingly not too greasy. It paired well with the noodles. Next, the negi rice - although it was supposed to have sauce, I could only taste the green onions. I was sure it was meant to be eaten with the soup, so I dove the negi rice into the remaining soup from the ramen. It was a good decision, as the rich risotto-like flavor was delicious. I finished every last drop. Thank you for the meal.

I tried the limited-time ramen "Mashimashi Kozou" at Ramen Kozou. It was worth going for this ramen! It's like a regular Jiro ramen with a strong pork bone flavor. It had plenty of bean sprouts and char siu, very filling! Normally it's 1.5 servings, but since I had ramen for lunch that day, I asked for just 1 serving. Adding the garlic on the table made it even more delicious! If they're still serving it, I would love to have it again!

This time, I visited "Ramen Kozou"! After work, I ordered the Kozou Special (1100 yen) for a rich ramen. The rich soup, well-cooked noodles, chashu, and seasoned egg were amazing! Garlic was provided on the table, so you can add as much as you want! I didn't add any this time... I definitely want to come back again! Thank you for the meal!

"Extremely Rich Tonkotsu Ramen Kozou" is a ramen shop located about a 5-minute walk from Fukushima Station. The impactful feature of this shop is its incredibly rich tonkotsu soup. This time, I tried the "forbidden ramen" priced at 990 yen, which was developed in collaboration with ABC's announcer Yamashita and Ramen Walker. The soup is so rich that it's more like eating than drinking, and the curly noodles intertwine with the flavorful seaweed and chashu, creating a punchy ramen. It's a satisfying bowl that is perfect for when you want a hearty meal. Once you try it, you might become addicted to it."

Order Kozou Special is a ramen shop located at Shin-Fukushima Station. There are three other customers when I arrived around 12:45, two of them went inside the shop immediately, but the person in front of me was on the phone. Even though there were seats available, I had to wait a bit. The soup had a lovely sign with the words "food" written on it, so I stared at it while waiting. After about 5 minutes, the person finished the call and went inside, so I followed suit. The ticket machine accepted cashless payments, which was convenient for me. I purchased the Kozou Special ticket and handed it to the staff before taking my seat. The rich soup was thick and flavorful, but surprisingly smooth when I tasted it. The medium-thick curly noodles were a perfect match for the rich pork bone broth, and the charred chashu was juicy and flavorful. The egg, cut horizontally instead of vertically, was also delicious. The texture and sweetness of the onions and green onions added a nice touch to the dish. Adding garlic from the table made it even more irresistible. Overall, it was a delicious meal.

Today (7/18), I made a trip to JR Tozai Line Shin-Fukushima Station for the first time in 7 years and 8 months. I visited this shop again after learning that it had been selected for "Hyakumeiten WEST 2022". I arrived a little before opening time and was relieved to see no line, waiting for the "Preparing" sign to change to "Open". After a short wait, I entered the shop and purchased a ticket for the "Kozou Ramen (890 yen)" from the ticket machine. Last time, I had the "Gokunou Tonkotsu Ramen (750 yen)", but it seems they no longer have that on the menu. The bowl arrived quickly, with a rich-looking yellow soup topped with seared chashu, half-seasoned egg, chopped green onions, and finely chopped scallions, with a large sheet of nori stuck to the edge. I tried the soup with a spoon and it was indeed rich and delicious, just as advertised, the thick tonkotsu soup permeating my senses. The medium-thick curly noodles were a perfect match for the rich soup, providing a chewy texture that complemented the flavors well. The toppings, including the seared chashu, were also delicious, and the overall balance of the dish truly lived up to its reputation as one of the top 100 shops. As expected, I finished every last bit of the ramen and the soup, completely satisfied with this delightful bowl. (P.S.) Despite being a top 100 shop, I had a very rare experience of being the only customer from entering to leaving the shop.

Hmm. I guess some people really like it. I usually avoid places that look heavy, but I decided to try it because they had a light menu. The noodles were thick and I like the texture, but the soup was heavy with a strong saltiness from the pork fat. It might have been better with some plain rice.
