I ordered a morning sandwich and a cup of coffee at a cafe near Hyotan-yama Station. The interior of the cafe was DIY and quite messy. It was a self-service style. The sandwich was warm. Thank you for the meal, and thank you.

I found a review saying it was delicious and decided to go! The shopping street in Hyotan-yama was bustling and surprising. The shop has a traditional interior that feels old-fashioned. First, I felt that the dressing for the salad was delicious. Omelette rice alone is 950 yen, pasta with drink included is 850 yen. [For an additional 100 yen, you can get salad and bread.] Both the omelette rice and pasta were delicious. The taste was somehow different from what I usually eat when dining out... a taste that makes you want to go back for more. The pasta was chewy! Cafe lunches are sometimes small in portion and leave you wanting more, but here I felt satisfied and full! I think any menu item here would be delicious. I will definitely go back to eat again.

I visited during New Year's. There were few shops open near the shrine, so this place was very crowded. I ordered the spaghetti aglio e olio (I think it was 850 yen). I'm not sure if the order was mistaken, they were busy, or if the food in general wasn't great, but personally, I thought the spaghetti aglio e olio from 7-Eleven was tastier. It was too oily and lacked garlic, so the quality of the dish was low. I was hungry, but almost left it uneaten. Thank you for the meal.

▽Morning Sandwich Set 350 yen▽ (October 2019)
The set includes a main sandwich, boiled egg, and mini dessert. I chose a hot drink. The sandwich had a simple taste with ingredients like egg and ham, but the portion was a bit small. The coffee was decent, nothing special but not bad either.

This popular cafe is located on the left side as you enter the Ginger Mall on the shopping street extending south from Kintetsu Hyouganzan Station. The interior feels a bit cluttered. While it's a typical cafe, their menu focuses on Italian dishes like pasta, pizza, and risotto. I visited for breakfast this time. The morning options are simple, with three choices available, including the set I ordered. The sandwich was a bit underwhelming in size, but considering the price, it was acceptable. Since this place is known for its food, I would like to visit again for a meal next time.

The baked cheesecake is delicious. It comes with a drink set for 680 yen. As a bonus, a mozzarella cheese pizza was included! I hope they add this to the regular menu as well.

When I looked up the meaning online, a cafeteria is a type of restaurant where customers choose their favorite dishes and bring them to their own table to eat. That's exactly what this cafe does! It's very straightforward. Located in front of Kintetsu Hyotan-yama Station, Cafe Cafeteria is a self-service cafe where you order and pay at the register first. You also have to prepare your own water. It's a popular trend these days. Everyone was so engrossed in conversation that they hardly moved. I ordered the sandwich morning set for 350 yen (tax included), which comes with coffee. If you add a mini salad, it's an extra 40 yen. It was a light meal that felt very self-service style. It was breakfast time, so it was enough for me. The entire place seemed to be non-smoking as there were no ashtrays or cigarette smells. I was able to relax. Thank you for the meal.

I've been curious about this place for a while but hesitated to go in... (laughs) After reading other reviews, I got a general idea of what to expect, so I finally went in. It's a self-service place with prepayment. They offer a daily pasta dish with a drink for 780 yen including tax, plus bread and salad for an additional 100 yen. The thick toast with lots of butter was delicious! I highly recommend adding the bread and salad set for 100 yen. The eggplant and bacon peperoncino pasta was also very generous in portion size. The noodles were a bit strange to me, and I personally would have liked more spices and heat. The classic music playing in the cozy atmosphere made for a satisfying meal. I enjoyed my drink slowly and relaxed.

I had been curious about this restaurant for quite some time. I had passed by the front of the store many times, debating whether to go in or not. When I think about why I hesitated, maybe it was because they didn't have Napolitan pasta? They also didn't have curry rice or fried rice, and since it's more like a bakery cafe, they offer drink and bread combinations, but I hadn't really been there during the morning set hours. This time, I ordered the daily pasta. It was a bacon and mushroom cream pasta, and for an extra 100 yen, it came with bread and salad. The pasta tasted more like pasta from a pasta specialty store rather than a cafe, with the same level of deliciousness as a specialty store. The noodles were chewy and very delicious. The chewiness was like thick Sanuki udon noodles, and it was one of the best in terms of deliciousness among pasta specialty stores. The onsen tamago (hot spring egg) was at room temperature, but that's understandable in a restaurant. The interior is mostly self-service, where you can get the pasta brought to your table, but you have to return the water and dishes yourself. The iced coffee was decent, but I hope it can match the deliciousness of the pasta in the future.

This is a cafe located on a shopping street. When you enter the store, you will see bread displayed right at the entrance. Towards closing time, they also offer discounted bulk sales. I was curious about the kinds of bread they sell, so I finally decided to enter the store. The bread, somewhat roughly packed, seemed a bit lackluster, but I ended up buying an "Orange Danish" that didn't seem to be very popular. The bread is made with Danish pastry dough, with orange marmalade kneaded into it. It's been a while since I last had marmalade, but it goes well with this Danish pastry. I bet it would be even more delicious if it were fresh out of the oven. I look forward to trying it when it's freshly baked or just arrived.

I had some time before my appointment, so I decided to stop by. I couldn't figure out what was special about this place. Later I found out it's named after a burial mound. This café is located right by the station. It was quite busy inside with only a few empty seats available. I had a cup of coffee, which was decent. Unfortunately, it's a smoking-friendly place, so almost all customers were smoking. They seemed to be locals based on their conversations. The staff, young part-timers, provided normal service even to someone like me who was just passing through.

I left Nagata Ward in Kobe after visiting the Hatsu-moude 1-day ticket for Hanshin and Kintetsu. I transferred from Kobe Expressway to Hanshin to Kintetsu, and arrived at Hirao-ka Station. Hirao-ka Station only stops local trains, making it inconvenient for travelers. I visited Hirao Shrine in Hirao-ka. Since only local trains stop at Hirao-ka Station, I had never had the opportunity to get off and visit the shrine before. This visit to Hirao Shrine was my first time participating in "Hatsu-moude" (the first shrine visit of the year). I wanted to take a break in Hirao-ka, but there were no suitable shops around the station. So I returned one station back towards Osaka Namba and decided to go to a cafe near Hozan-yama Station. Hozan-yama Station was also a first-time stop for me, and I associated it with "Nagasaki-ya." However, it seems that Nagasaki-ya had closed down. But there was a bustling arcade shopping street, and I entered a cafe called Terrier. The cafe offered morning service until 12:00, which was a deciding factor for me as it was already past 11:30 and I was entering lunchtime. I ordered a sandwich and iced coffee for the morning service. I paid 350 yen, found a seat, and enjoyed my meal. The cafe was busy, but I managed to secure a seat. The morning service included a sandwich, iced coffee, boiled egg, and dessert. The dessert was a small piece of pineapple and a small cube of agar. The coffee was reasonably priced at 280 yen. After finishing my meal, I returned the dishes and left the cafe. It was delicious, thank you. Next, I headed to Nara for lunch.
