On my day off, I was searching for a shop that I don't usually have time to visit. I came across this place on Instagram that announces its business days, and coincidentally, they were open that day. I decided to visit without hesitation. When I arrived, there were already a few people lined up. I waited in line and made my purchase from a small window on the first floor where the staff took orders. I bought several items that caught my eye. The an butter scone had a crispy exterior and a moist interior, with a nice texture. It was delicious on its own. The red bean paste scone had a generous amount of slightly sweet red bean paste and a buttery flavor with a hint of salt sprinkled on top, which was really tasty. The hojicha (roasted green tea) x white chocolate scone was flavorful with the roasted hojicha and the richness of the white chocolate complementing each other well. The earl grey x chocolate scone had the fragrant aroma of bergamot from the earl grey mixed with the sweetness and bitterness of the chocolate, creating a delicious combination. The pistachio canelé had a crispy exterior and a moist and chewy texture inside, with the richness and sweetness of honey and a toasted aroma, enhanced by the pistachio cream. Although it's difficult to visit due to their limited business days, I would love to go back if I have the chance because their baked goods were delicious. Thank you for the meal!

I checked the business days on Instagram and visited on the last business day of the year. There is no parking lot, so you need to park at a nearby coin parking. The location is easy to find along the train tracks, with a brick wall and windows. You ring the bell to place your order. When I visited around 2 pm on the last day of the year, most items were sold out. I ordered a scone, an an butter scone, shortbread, and a hot coffee. The an butter scone is made to order, so there was a bit of a wait. They only had iced oat milk latte, so I ordered a hot coffee instead. The scones were thick and crispy, with a buttery aroma. The butter sandwiched in the an butter scone is made with grass-fed butter, with a hint of salt that enhances the sweetness of the an. I would like to try the canelé, cheesecake, carrot cake, and more next time.

I visited the bakery on the day when the streetcar was free. I was surprised to see a long line even before the opening. There were more than 10 people waiting. I think it was because it coincided with a holiday, rather than just being a free streetcar day. I was worried if I could buy anything since there were no limits on the number of items you could purchase (but I was able to buy everything I wanted easily).
- Carrot Cake: The cream cheese with walnuts was thick and rich, which I quite liked. The carrot cake was fluffy and had a texture close to a muffin. The spices were not too strong, and the dry fruits (raisins) were sweet. When eaten alone, the raisins were thick and had a rum-like taste. There was also a slight wheat taste.
- Apple Cream Cheese Muffin (or something similar): The crumble on top was very crispy, and the moist muffin was a delight for those who enjoy texture. The slightly sour taste remained, thanks to the juicy apples, giving the muffin a moist texture similar to a pound cake. The combination with cream cheese was excellent. I would have been happier if there was a stronger cinnamon flavor (because the crumble was delicious, I assume the cookies are also good).
- Stollen Scone: A scone with a stollen-like flavor. It had a strong spice taste, which I really liked! It was crumbly and easy to eat even without reheating, but I thought it would become moist when warmed due to its high moisture content. It had quite a lot of dry fruits, like raisins and lemon peel or something similar. I really like this scone. It's a shame that it's only available for a limited time. I thought they had a lineup that would appeal to girls. The size is small, so I ended up buying more than I intended. I didn't buy canelé this time, but I'm curious about it.

Tram free day... While on a cafe-hopping adventure with the quirky trio, we stumbled upon a new takeout shop called "BAKE SHOP amaoto". The only review on "Tabelog" was by a user named "Spicy Totron". Intrigued, we rushed over to check it out. Each of us made a different order. I chose the "Rum Raisin Butter Scone @400" from the menu. The scone was moist and had a nice wheat flavor, not dry like usual. The "Rum Raisin Butter" had just the right amount of sweetness without being overwhelming. It was really delicious. I'm curious about their organic coffee too. They are only open about half the month, so I recommend checking their Instagram before visiting. I will definitely be back. Thank you for the meal!

Leaving the cafe, we stumbled upon "Amaoto" selling scones and pound cakes. Some baked goods like the "An Butter Sand" were already sold out close to closing time. I chose the "Brown Sugar and Walnut" scone for ¥300. It had a crispy exterior, moist interior, and wasn't dry, making it easy to eat. The nutty flavor paired well with the subtly sweet dough. Even after reheating, the walnut aroma remained, and the crunchy texture added a nice touch. It was delicious on its own, but would probably taste great with jam too. I didn't used to enjoy scones, but now I'm starting to like them. I also used to avoid walnuts, but now I can appreciate them in baked goods. I'm curious about their cheesecake next time. Their operating days are irregular, so check their Instagram for updates before visiting. Thank you for the meal.

It's not really a scoop, but I thought it was not well-known so I wanted to share haha. The shop has a small window where you can buy take-out baked goods like scones and pound cakes. They have irregular business days, so check their Instagram for details (^-^) The items I bought were a buttermilk scone for 250 yen and a pistachio cream sandwich scone for 400 yen. The scones are slightly sweet and delicious, but make your mouth dry. The pistachio cream sandwich scone is especially tasty with the jam filling. However, the cream tends to spill out when you bite into the hard dough, making it a bit difficult to eat. The buttermilk pound cake is moist and has a nice rum raisin flavor. They also offer drinks, so I might try that next time!

A graphic designer recently opened a pastry shop in a stylish building of a design office I've been checking out. It is located near Odori West 14-chome in Chuo-ku, Sapporo. If you head south from NTT Hospital along the streetcar route, you will find it on your right. It has small windows, so it's easy to miss! The shop is well-designed, as expected from a designer. The high-quality baked goods show the careful work put into each one.

Cute shop. The plain scones are crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and not too heavy on the throat. They are delicious.
