This is a gyoza restaurant located in a small alley off Tenjinbashi-suji in Temma. Despite its location, the restaurant specializes in gyoza, with a menu offering a variety of gyoza options along with izakaya-style appetizers. The gyoza are the typical pan-fried type, slightly larger than bite-sized with a crispy exterior and a flavorful meat filling. They are served with a unique red miso sauce, which is uncommon in Osaka. Another interesting dish is the gyoza skin pizza, made with a crispy gyoza skin crust that resembles an Italian pizza. The menu also includes tasty dishes like sliced green peppers with plenty of bonito flakes, chicken breast chashu macaroni salad, and curry white soup gyoza with cheese risotto. Overall, the restaurant's gyoza variations and appetizers were delicious, making it a recommended spot for a visit.

I'm in Osaka. Osaka is the city of Tenma and drunkards. From the intersection of Tenjinbashi 5 in Tenjinbashi-suji, go down south on the west side street, and on the corner just before Hiroshima-yaki Goshima-san, about the third house on the south side after turning west, you will find this restaurant. It's been quite a while since I last visited. It was quite early for me to visit this time, but there were already some regular customers here and there. It felt like it was quite popular. I quickly ordered my favorite shredded bell peppers and enjoyed eating them, but the chilled tofu with ginger that the customer next to me ordered looked very tempting. However, I had decided in my heart to stick with the shredded bell peppers, just with dashi soy sauce and bonito flakes sprinkled on top. So, I couldn't easily cheat on that!! No, I absolutely couldn't!! That's what I thought, but... in a moment of weakness? A moment of confusion?? I don't know, but before I knew it, I had ordered it. Chilled tofu with ginger on top, drizzled with sesame dressing, sprinkled with chopped seaweed and sesame on top♪ It seems like something I could make at home. I grumbled about it, pretending not to be interested, but took my time and tasted it... Delicious! Yummy! It's so delicious!!! And it seems like it would go well with beer, or other drinks too!!! So, from now on, maybe I'll stop ordering bell peppers and go for chilled tofu?

I'm in Osaka. Osaka is Tenma! Such a great place!! This shop is located a little south of the Tenjinbashi-suji shopping street, just a bit west from Tenjinbashi-suji. It's been quite a while since I last visited. When I entered the shop, even though it was quite late, it was almost full of customers, almost packed! The slim shop owner seemed busy but efficiently served us, rearranging seats for the previous customers, and somehow managed to seat us. I quickly ordered some gyoza, chu-hai, and my favorite green pepper with bonito flakes. The chu-hai and green pepper with bonito flakes arrived promptly. Yes, this is it!! I used to be really hooked on the green pepper with bonito flakes, and even though it's been a while, it was still delicious. And as I started eating the small gyoza, I couldn't stop because they were so delicious as always. With the situation around COVID-19 calming down, I thought it would be nice to come back to this area for drinks again.

After enjoying some hormone dishes at "Hormone Nagaoka" in Temma, we decided to visit another place nearby. We went to a gyoza specialty shop called "Gyoza no Mukou Kawa" near "Hormone Nagaoka". It's a small, cool place with just a counter. There was one customer who seemed like a regular. They had a variety of gyoza options, and we ordered some pan-fried gyoza and onion gyoza. The pan-fried gyoza came with miso sauce, and the onion gyoza was served with vinegar and pepper. They were delicious gyoza that went well with beer. We left feeling satisfied. My stomach is full. Back in my younger days, the meeting spot with my friend was on the other side of the gyoza skin. Not being familiar with Tenma, I searched for the shop while wandering through the back alleys and ended up at this place. We toasted with beer and my friend recommended some dishes. We were going to meet up with other friends later, so I tried to keep it light... I chose the spicy soup dumplings with hot water, but this... was quite spicy and needed some alcohol to balance it out. I indulged in the recommended boiled eggs and other dishes before heading to the next restaurant. Next time, I'll take my time to savor other menu items too!

Here is a translation of the restaurant review:
The intriguingly named restaurant is located in an area with a few other dumpling shops nearby, creating a small dumpling district. The cozy interior of the restaurant, housed in a traditional building in Naniwa-cho, North Ward, exudes a nostalgic charm. The menu consisted of dumplings, seasoned boiled eggs, and a dumpling skin pizza with optional extra cheese. The boiled egg had a rich flavor with a satisfyingly creamy yolk. The dumplings, though small, were visually appealing without being too oily. They were delicious dipped in vinegar soy sauce or miso sauce. The dumpling skin pizza, made with wheat flour, had a crispy texture more reminiscent of regular pizza. The generous portion size made it a bit too much for a solo diner. The Jim Highball drink was reasonably priced and served in a large glass. The atmosphere, though initially a bit awkward for a solo female diner, became more welcoming as the friendly staff engaged in conversation. The experience of exploring the quiet streets of Tenjin-cho and interacting with locals made for a memorable evening. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience in a charming old house setting. Thank you for reading until the end.

I found a gyoza specialty restaurant in the back streets of Temma! I had to go check it out, so I visited and ordered drinks, some appetizers, and of course gyoza at the counter. I saw a meat mincer machine from the counter! With high expectations, I enjoyed some freshly baked bite-sized pan-fried gyoza. It was light and delicious! I could eat these all day ❤️

I love dumplings and tried to visit this place twice before but it was full both times. Finally, on my third attempt, I was able to visit! Today, for my second meal, I had rice and various side dishes besides dumplings. I ordered two servings of dumplings, curry dumplings, and pickled cucumbers. The owner took our order efficiently, which was impressive. The dumplings were delicious, as expected from a dumpling specialty shop. The curry flavor was strong in the curry dumplings, almost overpowering the dumpling taste. We even had the leftover curry soup from the dumplings turned into a delicious risotto. Since this was our second stop for food, we were already full and the taste might have been affected, but overall, the menu is diverse and suitable for bar hopping. The small shop only has 8 seats, so be aware that you may not always get a spot.

"Beyond the dumpling skin! Pan-fried dumplings and boiled dumplings!! The pan-fried dumplings are light and go perfectly with miso sauce! The crispy dough has a strong wheat flavor!! This is definitely a dish meant to be enjoyed with miso sauce and beer!! And the boiled dumplings are packed with the strong taste of ginger, it's so flavorful! Adding rice to make porridge at the end is delicious! Dumplings and beer really make a great combination (lol)"

After visiting two places, we decided to have gyoza as our final dish instead of ramen. It seems like the alcohol had not yet filled up our stomachs completely, as we were still feeling hungry. I had wanted to try the gyoza place called "Gyoza no Kawa-san" for a while now, but it was always full whenever we tried to go. We started with a highball and regular gyoza. Then we tried the cheese gyoza and pot stickers. We also had some porridge and loaded up on carbs. The next day, when I weighed myself, I had gained a lot of weight. The restaurant offers a variety of gyoza types, making it tempting to try them all. The flavors were decent overall. Overeating is not good, but I would like to come back for more gyoza as a closing dish.

While strolling through the shopping street, I visited the third shop. The shop had only a counter, and it was always full of customers coming and going. I ordered regular pan-fried dumplings (6 pieces) and onion-filled dumplings (5 pieces). The dumplings, although small in size, were packed with delicious flavor. They also brought out a different dipping sauce for the onion-filled dumplings. The onion-filled dumplings were especially delicious. Thank you for the meal.

This is Tenma. Just a little north of Tenma Station. On the west side of Temmabashi-suji. If you go west from the corner of Yakiniku 50% off, and pass by the pretty sisters' Crochet Dot 83, diagonally across from there, you'll find this restaurant. It's been a while since I last visited. I may not have been completely absent, but whenever I come, I'm usually in a pretty drunk state, so I don't remember. Sorry. In that sense, this time I visited with a clear memory. Even though I wanted to go for beer, I decided to try something different this time, so I ordered Shaoxing wine and fried eggs. And these fried eggs, I had them for the first time, and they were really delicious. It seems like just eggs fried and covered in mayonnaise, but... I wonder what it is. Truly the skill of the chef. Is this what they call the restaurant's cooking? They also had upgraded versions like Ham and Eggs or Bacon and Eggs, so I think I'll try those next time.

I entered the restaurant before 6:30 PM. There were no other customers at first, but another group came in shortly after. The restaurant is small with only counter seats. There was a board with recommended dishes under the TV, so I ordered gyoza and nama beer from the menu. The owner was running the place alone and served drinks to the other group before taking our order. The boardwasa came out relatively quickly. However, it was just regular kamaboko cut up, not the kind you would expect at a restaurant. It was served without a word, which was a bit disappointing. Before the gyoza arrived, we were given miso sauce to dip them in. The gyoza, which came in a set of 6, were small and nicely browned. They tasted light and I ended up eating them with soy sauce and vinegar instead of the miso sauce. The gyoza didn't quite meet my expectations. The restaurant was so small that a group that came in later couldn't be seated and had to leave. The smell from the drain was a bit off-putting. The total bill came to 1,100 yen.

I was walking around Tenma when I was drawn in by the warm glow of lanterns and decided to enter the restaurant! It was around 9:30 pm, but the place was packed. Luckily, I was able to get a seat. I was greeted by a cheerful woman and the owner as I sat down. It happened to be the 3rd anniversary of the opening, so some drinks were discounted to 300 yen! Lucky me.
First dish was the Kimchi Yatko, which was incredibly delicious! It didn't say it was homemade, but the flavor was rich and it paired well with alcohol.
Second dish was the Gyoza, a signature menu item, and we ordered two servings. The female staff recommended adding shiso leaves, which we did. The regular gyoza came with a special miso sauce that was also delicious! The shiso leaf addition came with a plum sauce that was equally amazing!
For the third dish, we ordered the Red and White Hot Soup Gyoza. The female staff warned us, "It's very spicy!" but I like spicy food so we ordered it. It was indeed spicy but it complemented the flavor of the gyoza well!
As a finishing touch, we had the Cheese Risotto, which mellowed out the spiciness and we devoured it in no time.
Lastly, we ordered the Gyoza Skin Pizza, recommended on the board. The crust was made from gyoza skin, giving it a crispy texture. It was perfect for snacking and we couldn't stop eating it.
The staff were friendly throughout and this restaurant has definitely made it to my list of places to revisit!

Recently, I have been obsessed with dumplings and have been wandering around Umeda, Tenroku, and Temma. I came across this restaurant called "Beyond the Dumpling Skin" because someone recommended their dumplings. The shop has a very rare schedule where they don't have fixed days off, but rather irregular opening days, so it was quite difficult to catch them open. The cheese-topped dumplings were delicious, but they were really small. No matter how many you eat, you'll still feel full because of their size.

These bite-sized dumplings are perfect for enjoying with beer, and you can easily eat as many as you want. They are indeed delicious as rumored. I was also pleased with the miso sauce, as my hometown is Kobe.

I had regular gyoza and onion gyoza at the second restaurant of the day. They cook it right in front of you after you order. The restaurant is small and located in a back alley, with only counter seating. The atmosphere is unique. The food was delicious. Thank you for the meal!
